Andre Hitchcock is the next witness. He is stationed at the criminal record centre in Worcester. He is a photographer and crime scene investigator. Draws sketch plans of crime scenes, videos and photographs crime scenes. He also took forensic samples at the scene. He has covered thousands of crime scenes.

The De Zalze murder scene was relatively neat, he says. It wasn't similar to a scene of house or business robberies.

In the study, the cupboard doors and drawers only stood open.

Took touch DNA from cupboards and drawers as per procedure.

He says they have a swabbing evidence kit, used to collect blood samples which get put into a numbered kit box, which is photographed with the sample and sealed.

The white page goes with the kit to the lab; pink stays in my docket, green goes to the investigating officer.

Call Bianca 04:24 - to Bianca van der Westhuizen. Internet search was made 04:27. He also called 10177 at 07:12 - wrong number. Then 07:12 from landline to 107.

Google Maps search was to plot where he had been at that stage.

Incoming call at 07:39 - could not determine who call was from.

No calls made to Bianca were answered. There was a message sent to her. "Emergency please pick up the phone"
