Let us hope Judge Desai will be available to give his verdict.
I am really worried.
Is it correct, if he cannot continue, a 'retrial' is issued?

I'm sure there would have to be a retrial as there is no jury in SA. A newly appointed judge couldn't reach a verdict based solely on the court transcript. In the event of an appeal, the SCA always defers to the facts decided by the trial judge.

Don't worry, I'm certain that Desai will be delivering the verdict.

I feel very sad for Judge Desai. The doctors must have told him that she did not have long to live hence the delay in his being able to deliver the verdict. He will probably need time to grieve and then will be on track again.

Vale Mrs Desai. Prayers of strength and comfort for Judge Desai and his wife’s loved ones in their time of grief.

What a shame for judge Desai. I'm glad he has extended the judgement by a month because I wouldn't put it past Botha and van Breda asking for a re trial basted on the judge having too much, emotionally on his mind.
I'm not enjoying waiting even longer but I would hate it even more watching a re trial.
I hop you're right JJ when you said you think Desai might have something spectacular up his sleeve.

I don't think any of us could stomach a retrial. Once was bad enough.

I don't ever recall saying that Desai might have something spectacular up his sleeve.

No, me neither for another trial! And, no, you didn't, JJ!

That was my guess at a time that we had no knowledge of Desai's personal troubles.

Mind you, I'm still expecting something spectacular.

Proceedings into future care arrangements for Marli as well as whether her current curator's appointment should be extended has been postponed in the Western Cape High Court. Curator advocate Buikman SC confirmed on Monday that the matter will be heard on June 11 to allow her to file her report.

Buikman had been appointed by the court three years ago following the death of Marli’s parents and brother Rudi.

In October 2016, Buikman's curatorship was extended despite Marli having turned 18.

She was authorised to continue to act on behalf of Marli and to assist her in legal proceedings as well as all "major decisions".

Visiting grandmother! Hoping for a handout to support his appeal after conviction :jail:(on Monday!), I'll bet. Feel sorry for his grandmother - lost her son/daughter (Mother's side I think) & grandson. What an awful tragedy! Justice will prevail!

Looking as 'I am cool' as ever, with a short sleeved shirt and a beanie on.

Looks as though he has lost a lot of weight too; as does the girlfriend.

I just want to say that I've been reading up on this case the past few days. I'm from the USA and I don't remember any type of media reporting on this crime. I never heard of it before!

Well Princess, when we have the guilty verdict, you will hear it in USA, I would think.
