Southwest Flight Attendant Tries to Boot Hooters Waitress From Plane Over Clothing

  • #221
I agree with Paladin.....there is NOTHING wrong with her outfit.
I have seen much worse on the streets of NYC and in nightclubs.

Actually, there was no complaint from a passenger...only the flight attendant.

She was on Geraldo wearing the outfit and frankly...it looked fine to me. Nothing too revealing about it at all...except it made her tan look fabulous.

They also showed an old advertisement for Southwest Airlines with a "flight attendant" wearing a MUCH SHORTER skirt!!! She was standing on the tarmac and the plane flew over her. It could not have BEEN shorter! So I would say...SW just messed up bigtime! Not only do they not HAVE a dress code...now they have the problem of explaining their commercial touting their very own minidress wearing sexy stewardess, too!
Wow...she sure is making her way around the talk show circuit...wonder where she'll be next?? I saw her on the Today show and apparently the way she wore the outfit on the show was way different then the way she wore it on the plane. Plus, as another poster earlier on the thread said this happened 2 months ago...why bring it out now?

Maybe ala Britney she was pantieless. We are of course only hearing her side of the story.
If it were a guy in short shorts with his bulge showing under the fabric and a skin tight midriff top and SWA asked him to tone it down of cover up, would you be as offended as you are byt his girl being asked to do so?

Exactly, b/c she could have moved showing her vagina like a guy in short shorts would show his stuff.
My sister had a boyfriend who was wearing jogging shorts and put his feet up on our table and we saw his junk. it is forever etched in my mind as the first penis I saw. Lol.

Best post of the day!!!!

Awww, shucks, thanks Linask!:blushing:

To the posters who keep saying they saw the outfit on tv, I believe it was worn differently when they asked her to disembark or deboard or whatever the term would be.

Also, if they can't resist having her on their shows, I wish one of the multitude of interviewers would ask her if she were wearing panties and a bra and to demonstrate how the outfit looked when she was asked to step off. Then they could bring out the SWA steward and he could confront her and show how it really looked! lol

(Am I starting to sound like a producer for Jerry Springer?) lol

At first I laughed at your story, but then I recalled a situation where I was at a private pool and a young man who was wearing baggy shorts and would "adjust them" so that I would see his...ahem... "package".:chicken:

I was offended and had him removed. I felt that he was being deviant and was obviously getting off on being a "flasher". Maybe the young girl who got kicked off the SWA plane was getting "off" on the same thing.

Dang, I wish the steward would speak out! lol

Geez Anita, you reminded me of an incident which happened to my daughter. She was at the beach with a group of girlfriends and this guy was sitting against a log across from them with his thing conveniently hanging out. Next thing you know a couple of guys appear and the perv is handcuffed and taken away. The cops had set up surveillance at a highrise across the street from the beach. Apparently, this is very common.

Its funny you said that, it was my husband's first impression of it. He thought maybe she was posing somewhat just to make a riff.

Southwest Airlines fashion police strike again

(Associated Press--khou Houston)

DALLAS — Have airline employees replaced high school deans as the arbiters of appropriate dress, or have skimpily-clad passengers forced flight attendants to act like Mother?

A second young woman has come forward to claim that Southwest Airlines Co. employees made her cover up on a recent flight. Setara Qassim told KNBC-TV in Los Angeles that a flight attendant confronted her during the trip from Tucson, Ariz., to Burbank, Calif., and asked if she had a sweater to go over her green halter-style dress.

Qassim, 21, said she was forced to wrap a blanket around herself for the rest of the flight. She complained that if Southwest wants passengers to dress a certain way, it should publish a dress code.

More at link (mid page), along with a picture. There are some interesting remarks from other airlines employees too.

if there is no dress code in print then SWA has no recourse. i agree that i want people to cover up but i can't defend them for making up rules as they go.I do not think the new girls out fit was revelaing though . it was decent.

Probably just a copycat looking for some of the media attention given to the first one.

Wait until you see the outfit I have picked when I fly to Chicago at the end of the month.
American Airlines here I come.
I am bringing plenty of bail money just to be on the safe side.

Make sure it's clothing you can pull up, or down, as needed, so that you look like "Little Miss Innocent" when they take the media picture.

2sisters, I agree, and I don't see anything wrong with the girl's outfit either.

Just want to share an experience my husband had this week on Continental Airlines. He was seated in first class next to a woman who was breast feeding her child (not a small infant) and he said that made him very uncomfortable because she just whipped her breast out and got started--didn't even use a blanket or anything to try to at least partially cover herself. My husband thought the child looked about 2-l/2??? Does anyone know what the age cut-off is for having a child seated in your lap? He said he could tell a few other people were also uncomfortable. Nothing was said to the mother by the flight crew, but he said they looked somewhat shocked when they walked by and especially when they were serving the food. He said he didn't eat! LOL

I am not saying you shouldn't breast feed your child, but some people find it uncomfortable if you don't try to be somewhat discreet in public places. Maybe they should have a rule about that too.
