Australian officials have taken the father of 7yo Julian Cadman to the major justice/forensic centre in Barcelona.

I'm so sorry this development is not good at all.

Cross posts. I fear the same thing. Keeping my fingers crossed for a miracle.

The same media that claimed hours ago he was alive and being looked after?

I can't help wondering if they are taking Mr Cadwell to a place where they may have an unidentified body for him to look at.

Hopefully not.

Jared Tucker's wife had to identify him from photos provided by the Spanish police. I can't imagine how awful that must have been.

I've been following, just caught up. From feeling such sadness to feeling joy and relief, and now this.

This man/father probably has to identify his son....and his mother is in coma...so she doesn't even know.....How horrible life can be....want to say a lot of bad thing about the people who did this, but I 'm not going to because they are just not worth it....

Just imagine when she wakes up to receive that kind of news, another family ripped apart by scum.

You have the Dutch direct way of communication, totally ok.....yes realistically somebody else will.

Mr Cadman will be supported by the local law enforcement and the embassy. They are set up to deal with the media, its their job to help citizens at times of crisis like this. I doubt that making an announcement will even enter Mr Cadman's head.

Thank you for this lovely post. I'm so deeply concerned about what is happening in the world and fearful for the future. I know this is what these monsters want but I can't help feeling like this.

"Australian Mr Cadman flew into Barcelona airport this afternoon and was immediately met by Australian consular officials who took him to the justice centre in the city.

A car which had picked him up at the airport was seen arriving at the centre soon afterwards.

The centre includes a mortuary where the bodies of victims of crimes are stored to allow post mortems and forensic examinations to take place.

He is believed to have stayed at the centre for an hour before being driven to the hospital under police escort.
