Found Deceased Spain - Julian Cadman, 7, Barcelona, 17 Aug 2017

What a heartbreaking photo. I am glad that man was there though I think the child (likely Julian, based on clothes) had already passed. So horrific.

Yes, the boy in the photo was wearing clothes identical to Julian's. :(

I too am thankful for the kindness of a man who ensured that little Julian was not left alone, even in death.

As for those who caused his death, I hope they rot in hell.

Beautiful statement from Julian's family in his memory.

The statement said: “Julian was a much loved and adored member of our family.

"As he was enjoying the sights of Barcelona with his mother, Julian was sadly taken from us.

"He was so energetic, funny and cheeky, always bringing a smile to our faces.

"We are so blessed to have had him in our lives and will remember his smiles and hold his memory dear to our hearts."

The family said it wanted to thank all those who helped searching for Julian.

"Your kindness was incredible during a difficult time," they added.

"We also acknowledge we are not the only family to be affected by the events, our prayers and thoughts are with all people affected.

“We will not be making any further comments on this tragedy and ask everyone, especially the media, to give us the privacy we need to grieve away from the public eye.”

:tantrum: Such a tragedy! What started as the celebration of a wedding, ended in a funeral! :tantrum:

I'm very sad to come back and see the title of this thread changed.

RIP sweet Julian!

Prayers to his parents and family. May they heal and find peace in time.

May his beautiful innocent smile, so senselessly extinguished from this world, instil remorse in at least some of the perpetrators and other onhangers. We have to learn to live side by side, killing is never the answer to anything.

Julian went to school at St Bernadette's Catholic Primary in Lalor Park, in Sydney's west.

Greg Whitby, the executive director of the Parramatta Catholic diocese, issued a statement this morning on the school's behalf describing a boy who was loved by his teachers and peers.

"Julian was a delightful little boy — curious and energetic with a kind and generous heart," the statement said.

"He was much loved by his teachers and fellow students. The school community is feeling his loss deeply."

Sorry for having bought in the confusion. It was misleading of my part.

No need to apologise Giucy it was the media in Spain and in other countries that caused the confusion. It was a very complex situation with conflicting information being provided by the media. It would have been wonderful if the news in your posts had been correct.

Don't feel bad. You were bringing hope and passion to this thread. I really appreciated your posts. You couldn't have known the outcome of this sad story. You must feel crushed now.

At the end of the day you were only following what some parts of the media were reporting. Those media outlets probably made an honest mistake. Its really quite common in these circumstances, and perhaps they had Julian mixed up with another boy who was injured, but survived.

The only bad guys here are the terrorists, who did this.

Sorry if I was too harsh in my earlier posts, I feel I may have let my emotions about this terrible situation get the better of me.

"Friends and family of murdered Sydney schoolboy Julian Cadman are rallying round the boy's parents and donating money after fears his mother will endure years of surgery without insurance cover.

Jumarie 'Jom' Cadman was left in a serious condition with severely fractured legs after the Barcelona terror attack last week and is now facing a long road to recovery.

Julian's father Andy Cadman flew out to Barcelona in search of his son, and has remained at his wife's beside since the news broke of his son's death."

This is absolutely awful they have had enough distress. I'm just hoping an Australian airline like Quantas steps in an offers to fly Julian home as it costs thousands.

It is ok....don't feel guilty...Giucy....thanks for bringing this under our attention...X

What can I (you) say.. Julian...little beautiful innocent boy....so much to give, so much to gain....life suddenly stopped...I hope you are in a better place now.
