Sri Lanka - Charlotte May Lee, 21, frm UK, arrested aft 101-lbs syn cannabis fnd in luggage aft flight frm Bangkok, Thailand to Sri Lanka, 19 May 2025

ALLEGED drug mule Charlotte May Lee was besotted by a mystery man named Rocko, with her worried pals believing he may be able to help her defence.

It comes as prosecutors slammed the Brit's claim that she didn't know she was £1.2 million worth of kush into Sri Lanka - calling her story “made up”.

Emotional Charlotte May Lee, 21, was told she may not be sentenced for another 12 months - and will face at least 20 years in a “hellish” jail if convicted.

She will plead “not guilty” at the next court hearing, which could take place in a fortnight, pals said.

Prosecutors will argue her experience as a stewardess with TUI proves she, “knew to check her luggage before a flight”.

According to her pals, Charlotte was besotted with a British guy in Thailand known as Rocko, who they believe could help her defence

Do we know anything about Rocko? I suppose if he asked her to carry his "luggage" that there might be a record of correspondence. I hope she isn't hoping he will fly to her rescue and claim that the drugs were actually his. If he exists.

Think Rocko has been superseded by Dan .

The man, said by Charlotte to be British but of Pakistani origin and apparently known to her only as 'Dan', allegedly bought her airline ticket, telling her he had to remain in Bangkok to see a friend but would join her soon.

" 'Drugs mule' Brits

trapped in hellhole jails -

why some do it and grim fates.

Bella May Culley, 18, and Charlotte May Lee, 21, were arrested with a day of each other

and face decades in foreign jails,

but they are just two out of hundreds of British nationals languishing in foreign prisons on drugs offences.

According to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO),
more than 850 British nationals are currently locked up in prisons across the globe for drug-related offences.

Offences that may carry cautions in the UK
are often penalised with long prison sentences when overseas,
while in 33 countries or territories,
some drug offences carry the death penalty.

Young Brits often find themselves detained for months without trial
and facing distressing living conditions.

'Prisoners Abroad'
is currently supporting 80 Brits between the ages of 18 and 30
held in foreign countries for drug offences.

Two-thirds of these are still awaiting trial,
while others are serving sentences from a year to nearly 39 years."
