Cash out of the safe? He does have a lot of toys around the house. RV, pool, new decking etc. Pretty good on a cop's salary don't you think?

This whole thing sound so fishy right back to 1999 when her mom disappeared.

So did her mom disappear in 1999? That would be when Stacey and the Sarge met right?

Nevermind, they met in 2001. Is that correct?

But Peterson's husband told investigators he spoke with his wife on the phone about 9 p.m. Sunday -- and nothing in their conversation worried him. There have been no signs of foul play, authorities said.

Sitting at a desk in his house Wednesday afternoon, unshaven and with bags under his eyes, Drew Peterson, 53, said his wife, Stacy, 23, called him about 9 p.m. Sunday and told him she was leaving. That was the last time her cell phone was used, police said.

With no water in it according to the article Crash put up. I am thinking about that....would the water have drained out or did someone pull the plug? If someone pulled the plug it could have been to eliminate trace evidence.

This is one strange case. I wonder if he knew Stacey's mother back in 1999?
I wonder if he electrocuted her in a bathtub full of water, like throwing in some type of electrical appliance. Then, he left her for a few hours before returning to drain the tub and remove the appliance.

Wow. You bring up a really good question. Where did her mother live at the time of her disappearance? Wouldn't it be something if this cop somehow knew Stacy's mother and knew of Stacy? How old was Stacy in 1999? She was 16 yo then, right?

What if this cop knew Stacy's mother, even dating or befriending her and then was responsible for her disappearance. Then, he would know all about Stacy and how to push her buttons. He acts like meeting Stacy was coincidental when it could have been planned on his part. He knows how to push her buttons. That's why she is so attracted to him. It could all be part of his master plan.

He marries her, but then there is a glitch four years later. She is growing up and doesn't want to be totally controlled. He can't stand it because he knows that she is apt to fall for someone her own age. He murders her rather than lose her...

I would think an electrocution type death would leave definite burns or marks. It should be obvious to an ME.

Did I hear that Drew Peterson was back and at the neighbor's house?! Evidently so. Geraldo is talking now about it.

Geraldo just called him, "hinky". (Does this prove Geraldo reads here?! LOL)

Lol, Geraldo must be reading Steve's blog. Something just occured to me. Usually when there is this much live coverage, there is a good tip about a body. And Greta covering this? Makes you wonder what's known behind the scenes that hasn't been said yet.

Thanks!

Wow! He is doing well for a cop! Where did he get so much money? We know it obviously didn't come from his current wife. He has enough to have it stashed in a safe in the house, too?

Is it just me...or does everything in the backyard look almost brand new?!

Aw, the chopper needs fuel. I hope they have another one in the air.

(Not what I need anyway, another lengthy chopper news story)

The guy in the house just to the north is talking a lot "over the fence" to people/LE at the Peterson's home. Wonder what he knows! (Per the pilot's comments just now.)

:( Back to dinner I go.

Yes it does. Living beyond your means is a sign of a crooked cop. Which he was investigated for being years ago.

Don't other cops notice when you have tons of toys in your yard?! Surely, this cop has friends on the force since he has been there for so long.

Reporting back on Fox now.

All activity is now centered on the neighbor's house where the Sarge and kids are now. Police are in the house talking to everyone.

Somehow, I think that this cop is not going down easily. He has been crooked for a long time. He has probably now committed two murders. They were probably very well planned. You can suspect all day long. However, you have to have enough evidence to bring charges and make them stick.

He knows this. That's why he is where he is today...a few days away from retirement...

He should have raised eyebrows when wife #3 died...and people on the force should have been carefully monitoring his status and relationship with this young girl before now. People are speaking out about how controlling he was with her and jealous, etc. Hasn't LE figured out by now these are red flags?!

I disagree about him not going easily. I think maybe they are working on a confession or a deal with him. Perhaps the neighbor has more information which would tip the scales away from his favor this time with this wife.

Just an FYI, this is in the same county where Riley Fox was murdered ... Tomczak was the SA who arrested Kevin days before the election that he lost.

His statements are going to bite him in the a$$.

That carried over into their last conversation, he said. She left their home Sunday morning to help a relative paint, then called him at their home at about 9 p.m. Sunday.

"She seemed snotty," Peterson said, describing the call as "unusual" though he wouldn't disclose details of what was said.

That call at 9 p.m. Sunday was his last communication with his wife -- and even then he said he didn't know where she was calling from.

"I don't know where she was when she called," he said.

...............
Peterson, a 29-year veteran of the Bolingbrook Police Department, said he doesn't know why his wife of four years would leave him and their two children, ages 2 and 4, behind. She also adopted his children from a previous marriage, he said.

"I find that very unusual," he said of her absence. "She's a very good mom. For the last year or so, she's been very short-tempered, snapping on everyone, but still a good mom."

.................
He said he thought their marriage was solid.

"I believed our marriage was good, but maybe she didn't," he said.

He believes the publicity surrounding her disappearance may prompt her to return, but added cryptically," there's other things involved."

Now taking leave from his job -- which he was set to retire from on Dec. 16 -- Peterson said he talked "for a while" on Monday night to state police investigators searching for his wife.

He said he found her purse, cell phone and even some clothing gone after she left their two-story brick home on Sunday.
