The scenario doesn't make sense because she would not have gone on vacation with him willingly, imo

*Snipped for space*

This stuck out when Mysteriew theorized that he may have somehow coerced her into getting on a plane with him. I thought of something. Think about this... Stacey tells him she wants a divorce. He begs her to stay, he promises her that he'll try harder, he'll do anything, etc... On the fly, he tells her that they should pack now, go away together to Jamaica. Leave tonight. "We need to be alone, I love you, I want to make this work".

As soon as I heard him say 'Bikini' and 'Jamaica'... that was my immediate thought.

Does anyone know if he owns a plane?

Yes, the interview of the man at the airport stated he did own a plane and kept it there.

She would have immediately called for someone to watch the children. She would not have gone off without knowing who was caring for them and she would have let her sister know not to worry...since she spent the day before texting her that she was still alive and ok!! This is the huge problem I see with that scenario...not that he wouldn't try it this way. I just think she would have considered the children first before she took off with him.

I admit I don't know every detail about the case, so my thoughts are probably wrong as SS wrote. I just think somewhere in there (all his statements!) is a clue to what might have happened.

I worry that he knew very well how to cover his tracks since he's in LE. Then again, I'm seeing just how stupid he really is and I hope he messed up big time this time around!
Oh, I don't know they are wrong at all! Just putting in my two cents!

It is very true that there are truths in their statements!! Somewhere in everything he has said...he has included what really happened. : )

The same way he affords a motorcycle, an RV, a pool, and a very nice home. Wife #3's children were given a million dollars in life insurance and there was some talk about how he had other policies plus he sold some business or land, etc.

GUILTY as all heck. Why do the police think they are above suspicion and the very same law that they took an oath to provide??? Bobby Cutts comes to mind immediately only because I live here in Ohio. Others have been mentioned by other WS's.

Maybe it's the "macho male ego" and the "brothers of blue" sticking be each other that makes them think they can get away with everything or any anything.

I will not be surprised one bit if the investigation not only leads to finding poor Stacey, but also in the death of his previous wife and ahem..........reopening the investigation of Stacey's mother.

The times are all too close...........coincentidental?? Possibly.......but probably not.

Those poor kids!!!

IMO

I just heard about this case and it seems so familier husband murders wife. :(

Did I hear when the sister came to the house late Sunday and the older boy said his dad and Stacy were fighting and the sister noticed both cars were not there. Could they have gotten in a fight and she took off (knowing older kids were there) and he followed her and caught her they ended up in bad fight and he killed her and disposed of her body? Just hearing that the boy said they were not there and that they were fighting and both cars missing it just sounds like he might have killed her somewhere else and no evidence could be in the house. He probably went home and later on got her car and brought it home. Thinking because he is a police officer the other police will believe him and will side with him.

I am so sick of hearing about missing wives and lovers. These poor kids that are left behind without a mommy. :furious:

I agree with you Littledeer.... Do we know what month/year that Drew and Stacey met? If it was around the same time, that would be highly suspicious in light of all the events that have happened up to now.

Please remember everyone- what I'm about to talk about is UTTER speculation about what MAY have happened. I obviously have no way of knowing what went on behind closed doors- this is just a forming theory.

SS:
Regarding her calling a babysitter for the kids, he may have told her that he'd get his 26 year old son to watch them, and sent her off to pack and get ready.

It's possible that she might not have wanted to call her sister and tell her of the trip- because her sister may not have liked the idea. (I have some personal experience with a situation like this)...

If the trip had actually happened, who knows when she would have called her sister... Maybe she would call her after they arrived so she couldn't be disuaded from going with him. In volatile situations like this- sometimes people get swept away with emotion. They don't think logically.

And left with a loser for a dad!

As far as my "scenario", that's what I was thinking about with him saying he took care of finding a babysitter for the children or whatever. Who knew if she would have believed something like that by this time in their relationship.

I'm so thankful for my kind and decent husband.

I get the feeling that he's a very manipulative man. It's possible that he could talk her into something like that.

Just from his free-talk with the media (however not wanting to be on camera). His glib attitude that he's trying to project 'I'm not worried'... he seems very manipulative. He took a lesson from Scott Peterson, though. He won't let his face be shown on TV.. who's he hiding from? Who does he not want to recognize him?

I think he's very manipulative being able to marry a 17 yr old at his age! Creepy.

shelia:

Your scenario would fit very well except for the 2 missing vehicles in the middle of the morning. Unless your thinking, that he told her he would meet her at the airport?? So then both vehicles are there, and then they flew off together.

Only one came back............he drove one vehicle home and then went back and drove the other vehicle home. Now mind you...anyone in law enforcement is going to expect both cars to have their dna on them. So no way to disprove that this didn't happen if that is what P says (meaning if he wants to say Stacey drove to the airport to meet and/or leave with her so "imaginary" boyfriend). He was trying to cover all the bases............but he will be caught as no one can keep up with as many lies as he has told!!!!!

By now his nose must be just closing on the cell door! :):)

Without him having help with driving the cars back- what are the other theories as to how both cars were returned to the house on Sunday night. I believe Stacey's sister said that when she drove by late Sunday night, both cars were gone. She called, he said he was home- he was not. But shortly thereafter, both cars were back at home. He had to move pretty quickly, if I remember the sister's timeline correctly.

How can I find out what year Stacey and Drew met? I cannot find that peice of info anywhere! Dangit. If anyone is better at research, let me know. I'd sure appreciate that little tidbit.

One of the earliest articles said she was 17 when they met. She is now 23. So it must have been 2001.

Here's the quote and the link:

Drew Peterson said he first met Stacy when she was 17 and he was 47.

"When I met Stacy, she was working at SpringHill Suites [in Bolingbrook]," he said. "We just hit it off, and one thing led to another. It wasn't something I planned. It was a very romantic time. It was very exciting."

How does a cop afford a plane?

He had previously been in a narcotics unit and was fired by the police commissioners for, among other things, failure to report a bribe.

Like a previous poster said, living beyond one's means is a sign of a crooked cop.

There were between 300-500 flights in & out of the airport on Sunday. He is an officer there and people already know what he looks like.

The disguise, imo, is just to make it "all about him". He wants to portray he is being victimized.

The airport by his house is called Clow Airport. It's a small airport for private planes only.

The plane he supposedly owns is more of a kite like thing that you sit in, all open, not an airplane.

I'm not sure which airport he patrols, I would assume the small one. The other ones are Midway & O'hare, not in the jurisdiction of Bolingbrook Police, so I would assume it's Clow Airport where he patrols.

Yes, I agree his disguise is rediculous like Scott Peterson wearing the baseball cap so Amber wouldn't recognize him on TV! LOL

Who is to say that there is any money with her? Except that it is the word according to Drew. He may have thrown away her bikini, but I don't look for him to have thrown away money.

I have a question.....for all of you married folks, if you left home- how many think that hubby would notice that your bathing suit was missing?

Honestly, if I asked my husband what I was wearing an hour ago, before I put my nitegown on, he would have NO clue, so I'm sure he wouldn't know what clothes of mine were missing, especially not a bathing suit!

Amen Sister! LOL!

Thanks for the info about when she met him. 2001. Okay. I wonder how long she knew him before they started dating. Regardless, that's much later than when her mother went missing. That's likely just a very sad coincidence.
