About 6:45 p.m., Bolingbrook police responded to a call of an unconscious man at the vigil. When they arrived, they found a neighbor lying on the pavement. The man, who smelled of alcohol, was revived within minutes and told police he was "upset by the fact that his street had been taken over by media personnel, a large tent and subjects assisting with the missing persons case," according to a police report obtained Tuesday.

snip:
Drew Peterson, meanwhile, has been passing out leaflets to neighbors with the home phone number of Mayor Roger Claar, suggesting that if they are fed up with the media presence to call him and complain.

"I'm not aware of what you're talking about," Claar said when asked about the leaflets. "I've seen no fliers, and I've not gotten any calls. I got a few calls a couple of days ago, but I don't think it was related to any flier."

He can pass out THOSE kind of flyers, but not any for his missing wife? And who in their right mind is going to answer the door when Drew Peterson comes knocking?

It seems to be working. I have seen several articles recently of neighbors complaining about the presence of news media. This was the first I had heard of the fliers. I am wondering if Drew P saw the complaints in the media and decided to use them, or if he is actually so well liked in the neighborhood that the neighbors decided to support him.

State police have in the past said that Stacy Peterson's disappearance could possibly be a homicide, so if she is in fact dead they would be looking for her body. But could prosecutors move forward with a murder case against someone if her body is not recovered?

CBS 2 legal analyst Irv Miller says it would be difficult to prove a murder took place without a body, but it could be done.

"Illinois law is very clear," Miller said. "You don't need a body in this state to be convicted of murder."

But Miller adds that without a body, prosecutors have to prove a death or homicide occurred, and that's not easy.

This is true in Illinois. I'm not sure there have been any recent homicide cases where the body has not been found, but the defendant was still successfully prosecuted though...

I do know that they need MOUNTAINS of circumstantial evidence when a body has not been found...

I think the circumstantial evidence is piling up on Drew now. He might be looking at the Swiss Alps before this goes to trial. They are going to put him on the top with his hands behind his back and he will be on a slippery slope straight to hell. : )

While it would be a problem in the neighborhood to get around the trucks and reporters, I cannot imagine anyone supporting Drew and caving into pressure from him to have them removed. I hope they don't anyway. Drew needs the screws to be tightened on him every day and the media crunch is successful at putting the squeeze on his life.

You know, I would be feeling a little apprehensive about living nearby DP. It has been what, 37 days of pressure on DP and him being a, sociopath, bi-polar, unstable egotistical maniac who has no morals or feelings for another life.

Oh, ITA, over on the Cal Sag search thread we were discussing this earlier today. A few of us feel he's a ticking bomb. My fear is he will take the kids with him if he loses it.

If Drew were my neighbor, I would be more worried about living next to him if there were NOT all of these reporters and others around to keep him in the spotlight. When no one is looking he does what he pleases.

Remember that night when DP went running after his next-door neighbor, Sharon Bychowski, yelling at her. She went inside and while she was in her kitchen he appeared at the kitchen window yelling. Sharon moved out for a couple of days into a motel because she was scared.

The media camped out front holds DP in check. I'd feel a lot safer knowing the media was there.

Aww Pocono~ Where did you get that beautiful siggy of Stacy? We were just discussing that very saying last night on findstacy's site. I had mentioned when I was pregnant the first time, I was given that plaque.

Wasn't the media already there when Drew did that?

This happened around 11PM and the media wasn't there, which is why Mark F and Steph were getting calls in their hotel room.

Ah, OK! I get it now!

Dan Abrams is making fun of Drew now more or less.

IMO D is in denial, thinks he's invincible. I think he'll argue his innocence until the bitter end.

I just saw American Justice on A&E tonight covering Carrie Culberson's disappearance and how her boyfriend was tried for her "murder" even though her body hasn't been found.

OMG, I don't blame her for being scared and I would feel safer with the media camped out there 24/7.
