According to This article:

"On Friday morning, the Lockport Fire Department sent rescue boats out on the Des Plaines River near the Lockport lock. It was not immediately learned whether they were looking based on specific information or if they had received any tips."

I have a friend in the Lockport FD. I'll see if I can get any info out of him if I see him tonight.

Where is the lockport lock? Off to google maps again...

LOL SuziQ. The Lockport Lock & Dam is approximately 2 miles south of the 9th Street Bridge. It's part of the Sanitary & Ship Canal waterway and is located on that body of water near Caton Farm Road on the West and Bruce Road on the East.

It's VERY VERY close to me. :(

What do you think of the latest development with Drews brother in law and the clergyman?

Pretty damaging to Drew. There is no reason a member of the clergy would come forward and make up something like that. And if she confided in him, I wonder if there are others in her life that she has confided in. Hopefully LE is on top of that. I'm wondering if he may get indicted in the Savio murder but not charged in Stacy's disapperance/death until they find her or find more evidence.

The Cal Sag is full of old cars and garbage of all kinds. Dredging would be a major undetaking, albiet a long-overdue clean-up of that canal. I bet they recover a number of stolen cars among other things. Hopefully they have reliable information as to where to start looking.

Randy, that's not the Cal-Sag in Lockport, it's the Chicago Sanitary & Ship Canal. The Cal-Sag branches off in Lemont, near 111th.

In your experience in LE, have you ever seen any case as complicated and convoluted as this one?

Randy, has Geraldo left you alone? I haven't seen him on tv lately.

Many years ago I was out taking photographs near Lemont. I was able to pull my car down along the canal in an area where a railroad bridge went across the canal. I don't recall exactly where it was but I was able to walk along the canal, right next to parked tugs and barges, up the hill and even onto the RR tracks. I got some pretty neat pictures of the bridge, tracks, and tugs and barges on the canal. I never ran into anyone or was asked by anyone what I was doing or anything.

I don't know how many areas would allow easy access to the waterway. Certainly there are a number of bridges that go over it. I am most familiar with the area where Rt 83 goes over it. You can pull off and go down under the bridge and there are several junkyards there that back up right to the water.

Division Street on the Western edge of the Des Plaines River would offer the easiest access to the waterway. You can walk right up to the old bridge from the Western side. On the Eastern side, it's more difficult to get to the S&S because the water treatment plant is right there.

9th Street on the East is mostly residential and you really can't get that close to the S&S in a vehicle (you have to walk), but 9th Street on the West is mostly industrial and there are a number of companies still in operation that are right up to the water's edge over there.

The Lockport Lock is virtually inaccessible from the East Side (Bruce Road), not too sure you can access it from the Western Caton Farm Road side either.

And I assume that was not late on a Sunday night when most people are usually in bed getting ready for the work week.

This one hits a new record in my experience. Just when you think it can't get any more convolted we hear more new twists.

What's with taking the motorcycle? Is that the one Drew has been using? I guess Drew can borrow his kids bicycles now.

Correct. It was the middle of the day. So who knows how many places one could access the waterway from under the cover of darkness.

Just read something interesting over at findstacypetersons.com

Cassandra posted that she called a tow truck to go over there early this afternoon to Drew's to pick up things she wanted that were her fathers.

Interesting combination of things:
motorcycle
family Bible her Dad gave to Stacy
his toolbox

and the motorcycle Drew has been pictured riding recently belonged to Stacy...Drew's motorcycle that he was photographed on in the beginning
has not been seen since the day he rode off to clear his head..all the other shots have been of Stacy's motorcycle.
Interesting..yes?

Greta got some kind of tip about this, but she needed more info. I'm glad it was Cassandra taking this and not LE for evidence or whatever.

All quiet here now, thanks.

Randy, the other day I was cleaning out my caller ID and up came "Gerardo", I experienced a few moments of sheer terror before my mind registered that it wasn't "Geraldo".

I just got a tip that that police just left Peterson’s home….towing away Stacy’s father’s motorcycle….his very large tool box and some sort of furniture. Can anyone corroborate this? Anything else taken?

http://gretawire.foxnews.com/2007/11/30/can-anyone-corroborate-this-2/

Cassandra says she sent LE over there to get some of her father's things.

Drew's been riding Stacy's Sporty. Apparently he has his Screamin' Eagle stashed somewhere...
