Stacy Ann Peterson, Bolingbrook IL Part 3

Me, too. People do stupid things when they're in love. Plus, who knows what Drew was telling her about Kathleen. It does bring up some questions in my mind as to motives for this recent possible murder.

I've been in love; and I would never do anything to another woman or man what was described in that letter. BTW, I believe every single word of it. How very, very sad for Wife #3 and her children.

To think that these children then had to go live with their stepmom, the one flaunting her ring and dress while Dad was still married, and their father who hurt and harassed their mother. I can well imagine that the kids lived in fear every day of their lives. They are probably still living in fear.

So, now they are living with another cop in the family. Sorry, but I don't think that the kids should be with anyone on HIS side.

I feel most sorry for all of the children. They are all in my thoughts and prayers. What a shame that Kathleen and now Stacy's kids have had to lose their mothers because of a selfish, abominable, lawless pig.

Kathleen's letter was heartwrenching. You can feel the fear being expressed and to know she is dead makes it even worse. She asked for help but it wasn't given. A failure of the system...no question about it.

I wouldn't do any of that either! (I can't really see myself dating a married man in the first place.) But I do think that otherwise nice people sometimes act hateful when they are jealous.

Speaking of fear, please nobody flame me, but is it possible that Stacey may have disappeared on purpose out of fear? If she did believe that Drew murdered his first wife and that he seemed above the law, she may have seen it as her only option. I do think he has killed her, but it could be possible. It would be ironic if his only defense for Stacey's disappearance becomes that she left because she knew he killed his first wife.

I don't think the kids should be with his side of the family either Nan. This whole thing is just horrible.

This whole situation reminds me of a couple Ann Rule books, actually...

One is "Dead by Sunset"--has anyone read it? Brad Cunningham went from wife to wife, was always extremely controlling, threatening, physically violent....And his last wife--a nice woman, smart--actually served the divorce papers to his previous wife, with whom she was once good friends. The last wife ended up brutally beaten to death, after telling people if anything ever happens to her--BRAD did it. He was convicted, and the other wives finally felt safe enough to come forward and tell their horror stories.

The second is the one with Randy Roth ( I don't remember the name of it)--again, he married many times. One wife "fell" off a cliff while they were hiking--he was never charged. Years later Wife #4 (I think) "accidently" drowned while they were in a raft on a lake. He was charged with her death, and that's when people started questioning the death of his other wife. I'm not sure they ever convicted him on the first death, though...

Then of course there's Michael Peterson....

It's almost like they are all following the same script....

I feel they same way Suzi. I am struggling with this also. I really want to think she was young and stupid. Also who knows what Drew was telling her about Kathleen. But there is the other part of me that really dislikes the things she did and wonders how she treated Kathleens kids once their mother died. I hope she treated them well and didn't bad mouth their mother. I am quite certain Drew probably did.:slap:

The networks had this letter last night or possibly even before. They read excerpts from it but chose to leave out all portions relaying Stacy's behavior and actions. I don't really think that it will affect the coverage or searches.

She was only 17 at the time and apparently very naive. It's possible and quite plausible that DP "brainwashed" her into thinking that Kathleen was a horrible person and mother.

It brings to mind that one email she wrote to the family friend where she starts off by saying something to the affect of "as I have grown and matured" meaning, I think, that the curtain in her mind has been drawn back and she has seen the light regarding her husband.

Or was she referring to the fact that she (Kathleen) possibly found out Drew was having an affair from another employee while Kathleen was visiting the police department and it was being talked about? Did she mean "When I found out (at the police department) that Mr. Peterson was having an affair with a minor"...

I know this may sound odd, but in cases like this, these men always portray themselves as the victim, very convincingly and will usually allow the new love interest to hear just enough of a conversation where they have provoked the person to be loud or say things and then take them out of context to prove how victimized they are. The fact is usually both women are the victims of the mans manipulation. If that makes any sense. It does not excuse bad behavior on the new womans part, but then Stacy was a child, he was a respected police officer in her starry eyes and if he were so bad why wouldn't something have been done about it would have been her reasoning, she believed in my opinion that the ex was the abuser and hubby was pitiful and deserved better. I have seen it too many times.

It apparently is this same guy, Ric, who has been on Greta's since the first night. There is no way that this guy couldn't put two and two together from the getgo. I mean, wouldn't you ask, "What the heck is in this container, Drew?" I wonder if Drew had it all taped up??

We're getting close!!! This is GREAT news!!!!

The blog goes on to say that he didn't know if police obtained the "missing" barrel or not. I sure as heck hope so!
