When closing, I certainly hope that JM includes the 13 hours of elapsed time on 6/4/08 and connects it with premeditation by explaining to the jury that the roommates were home and that is the reason Arias waited until they left to kill Travis...

Was there a motion filed today? If so, what about? Fill me in please!

She is, thank you...and there is no video of the 1st day of the trial anywhere!:notgood:
Thank you for responding, I appreciate the hard work all of you do on this amazing site!

Thankyou GoAskAllie! Just saw your post and will try your video!

Someone has probably posted this, but HLN showed all of Juan's opening statement this afternoon. I guess they were showing the beginning of his CIC because they showed Mimi's and Lisa's testimony too. I wasn't watching much so can't say for sure what was included. I heard JM's opening in the car and saw the women testifying later in the day. FWIW. So does that mean youtube will put it up?

I know a lot of y'all don't like Vinnie, but he totally makes JA's hokey lies look like the crapola they are. At least tonight on AD.

Watched Chris Hughes on Drew tonight...He is a terrible friend...I can't believe he let Jodi sway his opinion about his "best friend"...He barely knew her...I wish the guests on Drew's show would've asked better questions...

I actually believe Chris when he says he knew they were having sex. They stayed in their home. I'm sure they knew they were staying in the same room and they weren't stupid.

I don't disgree that T felt pressure in most of his social circle to remain chaste but I'm sure not all.

Also IMO, T was a show off. He was arrogant. He's the type that would want everyone to think he was holy, like Christ, the perfect Mormon. I'm sure he enjoyed it.

I think your assessment is a little off according to information we have. He did not try to pass himself off as perfect or even a perfect Mormon. He told friends he was not temple worthy. He told some friends about his sexual relationship with Jodi, so it seems that was not the big secret the defense team would like the jury to believe. He also sought help from his Bishop when he was not upholding the law of chastity with Deanna.

It does seem he had some arrogance or cockiness, but that seems petty par for the course for his profession -- I have not seen anything that indicates he thought he was a perfect Mormon or superior to anyone. He struggled with his religious mandates and he helped others who were struggling as well.

What day was TA supposed to leave for Cancun? Anyone remember?

Well thankfully for you, you need not worry about him afflicting the world with these things. He was murdered.

Yes, I'm aware. Am I not allowed to make any criticisms? I think it's clear he was arrogant. That's not a horrible thing. Many men in my age group (late 20s to mid 30s are). I'm just stating my perspective as to why I think he continued on with the facade.

He was a human. I think it's bizarre that so many people here want to make him into a perfect person.

Two words: Pyramid Scheme

Nobody on the prosecution wants Chris Hughes' character/ethics examined too closely. Remember, he and Searcy work for the same pyramid scheme company.

MOO

I think there's a little more to it than that and it has to do with those letters and related issues -- maybe Travis' journals. Just a hunch, though.

Sky Hughes nicknamed Jodi "Peyton" from the movie "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle", because she was so creepy! She did that over a year before she killed Travis. They had her number. Also, it has finally been answered......they did tell Jodi bad things about Travis, because they wanted her away from him, not because they were trying to warn Jodi about anything. They didn't want Jodi around their own children. Why weren't they called by Juan to testify?

BBM I don't believe them for one second. Sounds like some game Jr. High girls would play. So, Chris Hughes said on TV that Sky nicknamed JA "Peyton"? Sky sounds like a "Mean Girl". Those two have not impressed me since I first saw them on 48 Hours. IMO, it is possible JM did not call them to testify because they are unbelievable and seemed like they were involved way too much in TA's life, which is weird to me and I am sure I am not alone in my thinking. Jury might have thought the same.

I like Vinnie...(ducking)... I dont like his cheesey new show, but a mans gotta make a living, and where JA is concerned, Vinnie totally has her number ! JMO

I do not mind Vinnie. He is just a little bit hyper at times. He gets so overly excited I swear he's gonna wet his pants. I would listen to
him over JVM any day. :Banane10::Banane10::Banane10::Banane10:

Perhaps he shared his struggles to his close friends but to others I believe he wanted to seem perfect. IMO this is very common in religious communities. I understand that he wouldn't want his church community to know he was having sex but pretending to be a virgin supports my claim.

Even his brother thought he was a virgin and bragged about it.

JM only called witnesses that would help him present his evidence quickly and succinctly. The Hughes' really had nothing to offer wrt the murder itself. And they would have come with some potential baggage that the defense could use. So in the end they weren't needed. If there's one thing JM knows how to do it's whittle down what he needs to just the basics and not do a pile-on of witnesses. This wasn't a "who done it" and it wasn't a "when was it done." It really is just a 1st degree murder vs something else kind of case. Slam dunk in the scheme of criminal murder trials.

We have no idea whether that's true or not since Deanna herself wouldn't know if it were true or not. That would be like someone saying I'm sure so and so confessed his unclean thoughts to the priest at confession. Just cause you enter a confessional and come out saying a few hail Mary's doesn't mean you confessed to anything -- and the priest ain't talkin' (thankfully! lol)

On Chris and Sky .. I am so glad it's not just me too!!!! Thank you FrayedKnot for saying it out loud .. I have a bigger issue with Skye because I think the way she handled Jodi was provocative whether she was acting as 'friend' or enemy .. also, their not for profit charity in Travis' name bothers me.

Multi Level Marketing is very close to a pure con scheme IMO.

ETA and yes, I think their appearance in court could open up a lot of questions which neither side wants to discuss. I can see why they were left out. Chris seems rather angry about it.

Yes, they were WAY too involved in Travis' personal life. Boundaries again.

Didn't ALV use emails from Chris and Sky (?) Hughes heavily to disparage Travis, saying they proved that he was abusive to many women they knew? Then later CH said he really loved TA? I have always been confused by this. Have the emails involving the Hughes' come out? Sounds like "Et tu Brute?" to me.

I, too, think JM did not call them because he doubted their "veracity" and objectivity.
