I think the big deal in TA's eyes was that he'd already been to the Bishop about pre-marital sex with Deanne & this would have been strike two for for him.

This...is my feeling about it as well...

I ADORE Joey Jackson. He and Mark Eiglarsh are flippin HILARIOUS.

One of things about me, is I don't watch HLN once JVM comes on.

I'll check youTube later, it should be up there later, thanks!

If I do, i'll get a TO on WS. ;)

No, but HLN will play it again later.

Frankly I think the virginity thing should not be made such a big deal in this trial. I really hope the jury sees it for what it is. A joke. It's absurd that the DT claims he lived a double life because he had sex. Plain stupid.

On Chris and Sky .. I am so glad it's not just me too!!!! Thank you FrayedKnot for saying it out loud .. I have a bigger issue with Skye because I think the way she handled Jodi was provocative whether she was acting as 'friend' or enemy .. also, their not for profit charity in Travis' name bothers me.

Multi Level Marketing is very close to a pure con scheme IMO.

Can I jump into the pool? I am kinda right there with yall...

Also? Jodi Ann Arias has absolutely zero talent as a photographer. As erotica, those nudie pix she took suck.

It blew my mind when JW called JA a "talented photographer". I haven't seen ANY pictures that suggest she had any photographic talent beyond point & shoot & she isn't particularly talented at point & shoot photography either.

Yes, I'm aware. Am I not allowed to make any criticisms? I think it's clear he was arrogant. That's not a horrible thing. Many men in my age group (late 20s to mid 30s are). I'm just stating my perspective as to why I think he continued on with the facade.

He was a human. I think it's bizarre that so many people here want to make him into a perfect person.

You are right. Sometimes it's hard on here to tell if someone is making a sincere point for discussion or if they have an agenda....sorry to have misread your post! :blushing:

After Dark show sucks when they have people on with serious faces actually believing
and spreading Jodi's lies. I appreciate their efforts, but Jodi's entire story has already
been debunked as far as I'm concerned thanks to Juan.

I've never seen that about him if you mean Travis. I thought he was sweet and thoughtful.

JVM stays on mute, unless I see a guest I want to listen to.

BBM I don't believe them for one second. Sounds like some game Jr. High girls would play. So, Chris Hughes said on TV that Sky nicknamed JA "Peyton"? Sky sounds like a "Mean Girl". Those two have not impressed me since I first saw them on 48 Hours. IMO, it is possible JM did not call them to testify because they are unbelievable and seemed like they were involved way too much in TA's life, which is weird to me and I am sure I am not alone in my thinking. Jury might have thought the same.

Yeah, way to go Skye .. you were dealing with someone with serious issues WAY TO GO.

Juan can see a bullcrapper a mile away. He knew exactly who to put on the stand and who NOT to put on the stand. He never even returned Gus' phone calls, not one.

He is brilliant in his job and has a sixth sense about people in general IMO. I think he realized asap that having anyone on the stand that was working with PPL was a BAD idea, especially since the DT ran to them first (big red flag for the State not to want to call any of them). Too suspect. At least that's how it seems to me.

Sundawnn: that's a whole lotta info to digest!!!!

I've have always felt those pis from that "day" we're suspect. I've also never really believed her accounts with regard to the sexcapades, especially the time after her baptism. She hadn't known him for very long, If he really did that in the manner in which she testified, she would have felt raped, anyone would, and the burgeoning relationship would be over.

Yeah it was. I think a Mod deleted though.

But here's the thing that was stated. The memory card (according to this blogger) does not fit the camera. And in reviewing the testimony, Connor said the memory card was found IN the washer machine (starts at 46:00)

http://youtu.be/OUFBQD-DP5k?t=46m52s

Then we have Melendez saying the SIM card/memory stick/card was found IN the camera!! (starts at 4:00)

So it's rather confusing but some of her point was: the naked photos from the bed were from another time. Arias even tells that to Flores in the interrogation.

We have no idea whether that's true or not since Deanna herself wouldn't know if it were true or not. That would be like someone saying I'm sure so and so confessed his unclean thoughts to the priest at confession. Just cause you enter a confessional and come out saying a few hail Mary's doesn't mean you confessed to anything -- and the priest ain't talkin' (thankfully! lol)

That said, I get a really good feeling from Deanna. It took such moxy for her to level her gaze on Nurmi and his pervy questions and answer them with painful (to her) truth and yet, grace.

What a class act, that girl.

ETA and yes, I think their appearance in court could open up a lot of questions which neither side wants to discuss. I can see why they were left out. Chris seems rather angry about it.

Yes, they were WAY too involved in Travis' personal life. Boundaries again.

You're right, they do seem too involved. I dont know much about Mormonism but from being involved in other religious communities, it's not uncommon for people to be all up in your business. I just play it up to that but I could be wrong.

So, watching Chris Hughes on DD tonight.

He said that being Mormon is no different than most other religions in that pre-marital sex is discouraged. He said he and Sky KNEW that TA and JA were having a sexual relationship but he didn't ask for details. And that hey, he was a young single guy, and that's totally normal. (With which I agree)

So then if it's an acceptable part of young, single life to have sexual relationships, why the whole facade of "thirty-year-old virgin"? Why did his friends say on camera in the 48 hrs show that they disapproved of the type of relationship Travis carried on with Jodi?

I'm gonna call BS here and say that TA was under a great deal of pressure to appear chaste. I know the Hughes' cared for Travis, but I honestly find them both a bit hinky. I do not believe that TA having a sexual relationship with Jodi was all cool and hunky dory in Travis' social circle.

I'm sorry, but I think Travis was under totally UNREALISTIC expectations from his friends and church. I think the Hugheses are being disingenuous NOW to say "oh yeah, the sex thing, no big deal, it's cool". I think they likely pressured Travis to CTR, and he felt obliged to hide from them the true nature of his ongoing relationship with JA.

Sorry, but the Hugheses really bug me. I think they were WAY too involved in TA's life.

Disingenuous is right. They were hovering and intruding in the most personal way, as if they we dealing with unruly children. But now, it was really "no big deal" because people are only human. So, on the one hand, fornication is a grave sin, trumped only by murder and requiring serious repentance or excommunication; and, on the other hand, it's to be expected, a minor weakness of the flesh. Not buying it. The gap is too big.

I don't know how anyone living under such impossible standards, which are a set-up for failure and self-loathing and shame, can stay healthy and safe. If your sexual partner is mistreating you, if you don't know how to extract yourself from a relationship, if you're addicted to sex, or if you're just generally feel afraid something bad is going to happen--who are you going to turn to without first outing yourself as a failure? Very dangerous, the way these conditions encourage lying, hiding, isolation. Hughes is trying to pretend these conditions don't exist. I sense the closing of ranks.

I know what you mean about religious groups .. I also think Travis had a difficult time setting boundaries, probably a carry-over from his problems with his parents.
