I got that message also but I hit the refresh button about three times and then the page came up but still no new tweets.

Kind of....

He retained them initally, but then claimed he was indigent. They are still doing the case for him at the usual rate paid by court appointed counsel.

IIRC, Kurtz asked to remain as BC's court-appointed lawyer since he was already heavily involved. Kurtz later asked the court for an additional pro bono attorney because of the workload, and that was approved.

I can't believe the defense wouldn't object to that since this witness would have no personal knowledge as to how the house was the day before.
