I think Kurtz is alleging CDI planted that search on the computer not the FBI..and of course we already know how expert they are with cells and computers?????? Chain of custody has already been established, and this cisco comuter was locked up from colletion date until it was removed and given to FBI??..Only 3 people had the key to that locked room..Wonder which one Kurtz feel expert enough to plant such a search?

No, it wasn't. From the time the CPD secured the premises the computer was not shut down for 27 hours. Even the FBI agent was suprised at that.

I don't think the defense will claim the tampering was done via malware.

On cross of Chappell, Kurtz asked if he searched for malware. Chappell answered that they did and detected "no alert for malware."

he sounds somewhat intelligent if we hadn't watched Boz rip him apart

But didnt he just say that malware could alter timestamps and alter things on the computer??..So, you believe that someone from LE altered it? Dear oh dear..think he's going to have a difficult time proving that since he cant cite programs he used or how he came to that opinion????

Mr. Ward is really behind the 8 ball isnt he??

like dos used to run in the background, no secret there

I don't think I've heard anyone call the judge corrupt. I think that his pro-prosecution bias has been called out. I think he's human, and he's pro-prosecution because of his background. I think most judges have some bias one way or the other, since they are all human and bring past experience to the bench. I also think that this particular judge doesn't do a very good job of hiding his particular bias.

People also forget that Judges, the CPD and the Prosecution are Public Figures and it is allowable to make comment regarding them and their actions as foreseen by the public.

Lots of questions on what he has done on workstations.
Kurtz is going for another try to get him accepted as an expert on detecting tampering on workstations.

So who do you suspect hacked into his networked computer and planted this google map search with a bogus time stamp?

Wait, you mean you haven't been infected with the Fielding Dr virus? It adds google searches to your computer of the aerial map over Fielding/Brittaby Ct, zooms in 3 times, and makes the datestamp 07/12/08 at 1:15:27pm.

Very dangerous virus.

I am afraid the jury is wondering what this has to do with the Brad Cooper murder case. Ward is in his testimony now, heavily, about his years with Cisco. He's going into so much background that when he gets to the nuts and bolts the jury will be asleep.

Yes. Apparently I was wrong.

Kurtz and his hired pal are insulting the intelligence of this jury.

I will be the first to admit I have a wild imagination, but I am half suspecting on cross that Boz will bring up some unflattering reason to have left one of his jobs. I got a hinky feeling when during the questioning this morning when he asked if all of his resume was truthful - and then asked "why did you leave that job" for a few of his employers, that it was possible he might know something and held it until cross examination in front of the jury. Probably just my imagination though.

I thought you were being funny.

No. I usually think of malware as something you get from going to certain websites or running programs you shouldn't. I wasn't thinking about someone accessing the PC and installing malware. I was just thinking about someone accessing the PC.

I actually like this witness. He is pretty smart, and the defense has worked on his testimony. He even looked at the jury, something not all witnesses do.
