I will be the first to admit I have a wild imagination, but I am half suspecting on cross that Boz will bring up some unflattering reason to have left one of his jobs. I got a hinky feeling when during the questioning this morning when he asked if all of his resume was truthful - and then asked "why did you leave that job" for a few of his employers, that it was possible he might know something and held it until cross examination in front of the jury. Probably just my imagination though.

You are probably right.

He's showing off now. Filling back up.
He needs to stick with the short and sweet of things.

Like he didn't know what kurtz was going to ask and needed to write the questions down.
:laughcry:

Kurtz and his hired pal are insulting the intelligence of this jury.

I don't think so. Giving background info for his abilities. State did it too.

I am afraid the jury is wondering what this has to do with the Brad Cooper murder case. Ward is in his testimony now, heavily, about his years with Cisco. He's going into so much background that when he gets to the nuts and bolts the jury will be asleep.

So Mr. Ward claims Cisco was super paranoid about malware or things that could be downloaded to Cisco computers..and vouches for his expertise in protecting their system...So he is saying the firewalls they have are super duper smart, strong and at the very least would alert to attack>> SOOO follows that IF something did attack it, their would have been an alert and would have to be bypassed by the user in order for it to be downloaded..at least that is how I understood what he said...

When he was being crossed this morning I got the same feeling when Boz asked him if everything was truthful. He may have something that will look very bad for this man in the end.
So this guy took the stand at approx. 3:30pm and his testimony including the prosc. is supposed to be around 6 hours long. I honestly don't think I can sit through the entire defense direct of him. Perhaps not even the prosc. questioning of him.

I'm talking about his obvious later testimony, not his background.

I'm not buying much of this so far...but there is a difference when the laptop is on the home network versus when it is on Cisco's network. Unless he had his Cisco VPN client running, the laptop would not have been on Cisco's network once he left on the 11th. Accessing the laptop at that point involves getting around the security of the wireless network at the Cooper house. If he was running wep, that is fairly trivial to get around (although I have never done it....tons of google searches explaining how to beat it). If he was running more secure protocols, it would have been more difficult.

I actually like this witness. He is pretty smart, and the defense has worked on his testimony. He even looked at the jury, something not all witnesses do.

I like him too. Would love to spend a night in a bar with him, I bet he'd be a hoot.
His demeanor is very different with each side, as my own probably would be as well. I am anxiously awaiting the prosc. turn with him again.

If he had something on him, he wouldn't have been fighting to block his expert testimony.

From everything I've read, this guy has an impressive reputation in this field. I don't expect anyone to dig up "dirt" on him. JMO

At home he was running wep. They asked about that on cross and pointed out how easy it was to hack. (with Detective Chappell)

Question: Why is the guy that took the witness stand in black out still sitting there in the courtoom on the row with KC??????

  • #875
LOL! Ward just highlighted Cooper's expertise as a CCIE. Really advanced. "I'm not as advanced as Mr. Cooper would be."

That's the undercover guy?!?

Kurtz cut him off quick when he pointed out Brad's higher expertise in one area. If I were on the jury, I'd be wondering why they didn't get someone with more expertise than Brad.

So you are suggesting that Cisco Computers that contain guarded programs, are allowed to be taken home by employees and be exposed to intrusions?..That all the firewalls and protections place on that computer is useless in protecting it from being infected..then brought to work hooked u to their system and get infected then?..You are confusing me FD..Sorry I am not understanding that at all..

I.E. I take my computer to another place and even tho I have programs to protect it..IT wont warn me or will allow malware to infiltrate it..Is that how it works?

Me, I'd rather spend a night in a bar with Det. Daniels. Now he seems way more cool and interesting. This guy, to me anyway, comes across as needing to feel very self-important. Hard to describe. Years ago, my husbands manager was a really cool man. No matter who he was talking to, he had a way of making that person feel very important. And he loved women. Not in the biblical sense, I mean he was the kind of man who really enjoyed talking with women. At the time I was a SAHM, and there were some who looked upon that as menial to say the least. But not this guy, he always made one feel very important, interesting, fun to be with, etc. That's my kind of man. :fence:
