I think the jury will compare the testimony of the 2, not the credentials.
IMO, the jury won't even HEAR this witness. He's not qualified to testify as an expert in his field.

I'm embarrassed to confess you all have much purer hearts and minds than I do... ;o)

< my mind was in the gutter, apparently, is that where you are too > 'first thing to go?'

He is FULL of himself!

Well, we hired smart people, but not necessarily modest ones....

I'm still trying to "place him." I do have a glint of being in meetings on some project or other.... :waitasec:

Right...because there are no experts without degrees. You know, people like Bill Gates. I guess he wouldn't be an expert either since he dropped out of college to form a little company called Microsoft out of his garage. I think experience means more to expert status than degrees.

Experience is certainly important to develop expertise but in this situation it seems that the best expert for the job would have been the security person employed by Cisco at the time of the murder. Brad's computer was on the Cisco network and it was their security hardware and software in place that would need to be analyzed. Why didn't the defense get that person to do this review of Brad's computer?

Sure we do. It's building the "foundation" to show why he is an expert.

This "expert" appears only to have expertise in communicating 500 words minute:floorlaugh: his commentary IS quite the skill:great:

He just confirmed that Cisco takes network security very seriously. That just strengthens the fact that Cooper was on a VERY secure network when he was doing that Google map search on Fri July 11. If there had been an intrusion it would have been detected.

I think the jury wants to go home....

why, if this guy is so good...why has he had so many jobs? if he is a keeper ..someone would have snagged him and kept him

I think he may have his own company now. I am not sure.

Yes, I thought when he first was brought out it was said he was owner of a security/company type company. I was barely listening though at that point.

When my husband testifed as an expert witness, his educational credentials were important, as well as his 'continuing education' and recent courses, training programs, certificates, etc.

Be impatient, GLee, I'm sure that's coming -- maybe after lunch!!

It was mentioned in court today while both sides were discussing him with the judge.

the pros never said he was on their witness list..they just said that they were given the discs 4 mins before court started..and they knew they were on the defense witness list..but they would have to question him to see if he was an actual expert

This jury is constantly needing breaks? Aren't they on break when they aren't in the courtroom?

This jury just boggles my mind. NEVER seen anything like it.

Just a guess....but, I bet after listening to him, other employees wanted to muzzle him. He is sooooo arrogant!!

Does he still work for Cisco??

LinkedIn shows he was at Cisco from 10/02 to 1/06, then at Symantec before launching his own "Strategic and tactical security consulting" company in 2007.

Good morning! Just tuning in. Do I understand correctly that the jury is not hearing this?

Right,,,and the judge is sending them out until noon. By then both sides will have finished with him and then a decision will be made if he can testify as an expert.
