The only thing I can say is that in this guys case, with his speciality being computer security, he should be able to secure his privacy settings properly on facebook. More so than say somebody who is a teacher or waitress, etc.

He may very well be able to secure his Facebook page. He just chose not to. That doesn't mean that he is not a qualified security expert.

Wow, Zellinger is looking like an idiot here. I'm losing respect for this guy. None of us can keep up with the everchanging settings for facebook. I only know when people post it to their status.

I've found the Facebook changes have been publicized for the last couple years now. I keep all my settings Friends only. And if I do miss anything, friends are always updating new security settings.

Fact that he did this Pro Bono shows me he is doing it for publicity....JMO

Is it really so hard to imagine someone would help someone just because? I do all the time and do not expect to gain anything from it. I like helping people. Many people do. I disagree it is about publicity. He doesn't seem the type and really, it is not worth it to have to be subjected to the state ridiculous questioning and time away from his work.

I have a file with profile pictures, some I used some I did not. I posted them on profile for a second or two and changed my mind. Don't think anyone saw them nor were they my actual PROFILE picture for anything more than a second.

Who cares if he is a Frank Zappa fan, if people at my work knew that I spent most of my time on WS and reading about murder, death and mayhem they would look at you like you were crazy.

Kelly

Yes, but once you choose a picture and click on "make profile picture" it will be in the profile picture album no matter how long you had it posted on your wall. There will be a record that you did make it a profile picture.

He is right about that. I just checked and saw that my cell phone number was listed under my info. I certainly didn't put that there.

There was an update some months ago about how to fix that.

"Here I am to save the day! Mighty J is on the way!! :Banane47:

He heard about the case, knew it might involve some computer evidence, and it scared him to death?? Because stepdad was a defense atty.?? OH! That's right. All prosecutions are a conspiracy to convict innocent people!!

I don't think he had any clue this would be broadcast on the net. I sure didn't, and I was following the case. He was approached by the defense. He didn't seek out the defense to help. He's getting good publicity for it and good for him. Has nothing to do with what he found.

The point is....his entire testimony was "it's a conspiracy".....

This is sooooo obvious!! He's there to save Brad!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

I believe what it showed that JWard had an agenda..to help Brad..and it appears someone from Cisco contacted him about Brad..so He followed up with Defense team..

JWard is an admitted conspiracy therorist..

JWard is an admitted person who is committed to Help the accused..due to his family history of Def. Attny father /father-in-law/or step father who embedded the necessity to use whatever tools you possessed to help accused persons...He admits to having an agenda of disproving evidence

I have to agree, Boz has exposed his credibility factor...It will depend on the jury at this point..

I'll admit I think the state's cross of him, absolutely nothing other than his resume and FB account, was rather lame. Even though I agree that in his line of work, protecting his own security settings on FB should have been a thought of his every now and then.

What reason do you have to doubt his sincerity?

My goodness, that was embarrassing for the pros. imo I have been waiting all day to see what they would ask him, and then "Facebook"? Sorry. I just am incredulous.

I fixed that one. That was under security settings. This was on my profile page under "Info". Only my friends can see that but there are some "friends" that I don't want calling me on my cell phone.

Same here, but I think motivation is different in a highly publicized case.

That's it? Wow, they really had nothing on this guy. Facebook settings. Wow.

I must admit I am a bit surprised, why not ask if files could be altered and end up with a date stamp in the future...seems to me this might well be possible but aparently I am the only one curious about it. Sure wasn't broached by either side.

So unless I missed something I was correct. There is absolutely no rebuttal to his actual testimony.

I don't think he gave any actual testimony of great importance. JMO. I can't think of anything he testified to that caused me to go WOW.

Buh bye Mr Ward.

My guess is that the convo went like this: "Son, get in there and do a couple pro bono cases and be qualified as an expert. Once you get that under your belt, you'll be raking in the dough as an expert witness for defenses cases across the country. You hear me, now, boy. You go on and do it now. Listen to your dad. It's a goldmine."

He would have been better off not asking any questions. It would have come across that the guy had nothing to offer. I bet this is the first time facebook privacy settings have been used in an attempt to discredit a witness.

I don't think that a user's facebook settings has any relation to their efforts or knowledge at network security, but the content of his FB page I felt made him look silly & unprofessional.
