Jessica has no personal knowledge that Nancy had an affair with JP.

She does not look like somebody who is being truthful.

Side Note: Who returns a swimsuit that you have already worn? Gross!

Do you mean her person or the way she says it?

Washingmachine?

Very true. It's also possible she was going on a shorter run (5 miles or less) and was planning on going to JAs when she got back. So all 3 events are possible (get up, go run, go to JA to pain, be back by 9:30 for BC to play tennis or bring the kids with her). I Since she was just painting, it shouldn't be that big of a deal to do it after a run. So everything is still possible with this testimony.

I might be wrong about this, but I don't recall that NC ever running has been stated as being planned with anyone, or that NC said she was going for a run. IIRC, this was all as related by BC that morning. I see that there are disparaging comments being made on the credibility of JA and the timing of the morning, but if the only way running came into the picture was when JA called and BC said she went running. IMHO, this is a far more likely source of obfuscated information than someone who got the family up to move furnishings.

The "She has gone running with..." sounded like a credible, but cooked up story to me. She was a known runner, she was known to run with someone else, so BC could easily whip that out to explain why she was not available to take a phone call. We know now that there were other reasons she was not able to come to the phone.

:gthanks:This commentary on the trial is just wonderful for me. I'm having one of my "in bed" days (cancer recurred), and I refuse to die before I know the outcome of this trial! I can lie in bed w/my laptop, which is the best scenario for me. Plus I live locally to where the crime happened, so I'm tied to it until it comes to an end.

Loving this. I catch up on the news at night.

Prayers for per-curiam!!!!!

Interesting that Kurtz is trying to paint a picture about the laundry detergent and seems to be giving the witness more credit about what she remembers and what is "important" than what she even thought.....

Interesting - going through the BJ's receipts?

Also, why would clothes smell at ALL if someone is using All Free & Clear???

PS: Do you think there were any same sex relationships among some of the "gaggle" (women)? I've often wondered. Don't flame me for this one. It is a possibility, and since some of them were labeled as "swingers"...

The possibility of all the intermingled relationships, sexual or otherwise, may have a play on what some people keep from telling others, jealousies, etc. I can't help but wonder, for many reasons and for what I've seen.

True. But I doubt she told her friends about every run she did. Especially if it wasn't a "long run".

No odor at all is a good thing when smelling clothing......

AMEN! Per-Curiam, I am sorry to hear this. I remember you from the "old days" when we were discussing the investigation. For some reason your name came to mind when I was driving last night as one I remembered, and I had not seen you on here much. I will offer sincere prayers for your comfort and recovery. :blowkiss:

Yes, my thoughts as well. "Baliff, set the prisioner free! There WAS another kind of laundry detergent used!" Good news for BC, if he avoids conviction, he might be able to get a job as a spokesman for Tide HE. "This stuff is great. It removes stubborn stains, and life sentences."

Hysterical.

That really sucks. Hope you get better soon.

Perhaps I'm really dense so I need some help. What on earth would be the motive for JA to lie about Nancy coming over and painting? OBVIOUSLY (or maybe just to me), they had some sort of plans because she was worried when Nancy didn't appear. If they had no plans, she wouldn't have freaked out and called the police.

Her comment about the piles of folded laundry struck me (remember, I'm dense). Brad hadn't done laundry at all - just the dress, and used the piles of laundry as his proof that he did all the laundry. Probably what happened is Nancy did the laundry, ran out of detergent, and when Brad went to wash the dress, he realized they were out. When you're doing laundry, you realize when you're getting low - it just doesn't happen like oh, it's all gone now. You know, right?

Thank you for your good wishes, folks. However, I don't want to take attn. away from the trial.

The trial is boring. It's like re-reading all the legal docs again. I am ready for some action. Police evidence that we don't know about, anything. Let's get moving.

I have to hang on through the J. Young trial too. I so miss the funny photoshopped cartoon-like portrayals of J.Young (on W.Sleuths, I think, old threads).

Almost wish there were som on this trial, say, C. Duncan, the gaggle, B.Cooper, you know.

I'll be back later. Thanks again.

OT....for those that followed the 2nd degree murder trial of Dr Raymond Cook. He was just assigned to a minimum security prison in Raeford NC

http://www.doc.state.nc.us/dop/prisons/hoke.htm

http://webapps6.doc.state.nc.us/opi...turl=pagelistoffendersearchresults&listpage=1

JTF On your OT (!): Yes, it started as a 2nd Degree Murder trial, but it ended with Involuntary Manslaughter and Fel. Death by Vehicle verdicts..... :banghead: As I had said earlier, two of the jurors couldn't get by the words "malice" and "mischief." And the jurors were disappointed that he didn't get more time, even under "aggravated." Sigh.... Sentencing guidelines being what they are and all, even for the judge-selected greater charge of FDBV ....:banghead:

But yes, the good doctor is incarcerated for a felony 3+ year stint. I know the Raeford area (before settling in Raleigh during & after college, I grew up within 45 miles of Hoke County) and methinks most of them prolly did not attend Forsyth Country Day, IMO.... But he's wearing the good ol' orange & white... Go Team!!! (And I'm NOT speaking of the Volunteers!!) .... minimum custody, mumble, mumble.... grrrrrrr  Excuse this rant and thanks, JTF, for keeping us in the loop.

I think that these folks were all way too close and that it's really hard to separate out facts from what someone thought and how their judgment may have been clouded because they were so deeply involved in everyone's ongoing soap opera of life.

I have suspected that Nancy found someone here. I have suspected that someone was making her feel better about herself after Brad had seemingly chipped away at her confidence for so long - and that this new found relationship encouraged her to do a couple of things - 1) get an attorney and 2) start standing up for herself.

She did not appear to be afraid of him (IMO) anymore and was more openly antagonizing him. I think you only do that if you feel some power over the situation - and in my experience - you don't get that from your girlfriends.

You get that when you have hope for the future and based on what I can tell about Nancy - she'd want a family unit - and potentially want someone who can make sure that she would continue to support her lifestyle (real of imagined). I think it's possible that BC found out about this - possibly through intercepted emails - and that the thought of him paying child support so that she could go make a new family right under his nose, with his money, and that she was starting to be more assertive - pushed him over the edge.

There is something about her provocation of Brad that just makes me feel like she finally felt like she had an out - and that she could stay here and suddenly the Canada move being canceled was less of an issue.

Actually, what we've learned in terms of the friendships before Nancy's death is that:

1. JA and HP had met but had never talked on the phone, nor were buddies who hung out. They each were friends (separate friends) with NC.

2. Neither JA nor HP had met Carey Clark before so that was another friend of NC's. They didn't meet her until after Nancy went missing.

3. DD and CD knew JA and her husband. However neither had met Carey Clark before and it appears they also did not know H.P.

4. R.T. and D.T. lived near DD and they were friends. They met Nancy & Brad through the 'hood and parties. However, there's been no testimony that they hung out with J.A. or her hub or even knew H.P. at that point (or if they did know her or who she was, she wasn't a friend or part of that neighborhood).

So really, Nancy had a bunch of friends, some who knew each other and were friends, but not everyone who Nancy was friends with knew everyone else or hung out.

The one thing they all had in common was that they knew Nancy (and Brad to some extent), they knew Nancy was headed for divorce, they knew Nancy was unhappy, and Nancy had spoken openly about her financial sitch and the inability to move back to Canada, etc, etc.

Hang in the per_curiam! Parts of this trial are like watching paint dry, but hopefully testimony will pick up. There are lots of us waiting for the Jason Young trial to begin!!
