I think the judge's statement should be sufficient. It totally explains why BC contacted this ex g/f.

They understand to disregard this info.

I really don't see a problem with this.

One other thing I wanted to say about the deposition in general is that the interpretation of Brad testifying tends to be different depending on whether you go in with the presumption of innocence versus the presumption of guilt.

If he really did not do this crime you are watching the interrogation of a man who has lost his wife to murder, neighborhood and her family have all determined he is the killer, LE is clearly looking at him as the killer and now he is facing losing his children.

How much of his lies and forgetfulness, emotional presence or whatever is related to stress, shock, despair, trying to remain stoic, etc.?

Just something else I ponder

She' probably sleeping with someone else's husband and no longer concerned with Brad.

And she was sued for that one -- remember the remarks about the Alienation of Affection suit brought by the former wife of a man she married (IIRC -- not sure??) or at least was "going with" or however it should be said these days.
A very busy woman...

I wonder if we'll get to see Brad's Google searches.

Judge tells jury: Brad contacted his ex-girlfriend in reference to his child custody matter and for no other purpose. #coopertrial

Judge asks jury to raise hands if they agree to "strike that, disregard it and not concern yourself with it." Jury agrees. #coopertrial

WOW! Nice admonishment by the Judge. Don't think I have ever seen one as thorough. MOO

see he just lied there about the fiancée

When BC elaborates he is covering for himself...otherwise answers are brief IMO.

another lie about France names

I disagree. The burden falls flatly on the Defense team's head. They knew about this depo forEVER! Neglecting to solidify a deal with the Prosecutors, until a "line-by-line" transcript... email last night...when the State was using minutes and seconds of the recording doesn't cut it.

Man-UP! The DT messed up------------NO MISTRIAL! MOO

BC, in the future, could still get a new trial based on ineffective assistance of counsel.

Well he remembered the day he met Celine Busson, didn't he? No problem with that recollection what so ever. Bing, bang, boom, third day of the trip.

Absolutely fair for you to ponder. I am just seeing all of it in totally different light.....he's had 3 months since her murder til this taped testimony. His demeanor just strikes me as totally arrogant and self-aggrandizing. However, I have admitted in the past that I just dislike him so much as a person that my views are probably swayed by my negative feel for him. I honestly do not know how in the world poor Nancy thought she was ever in love with this man.

I pulled that same question from this the first time I watched it. However, it doesn't seem she is going to be a witness. Would love to know just what went on between the two of them.
I'm still wondering why any woman, on any continent, would be attracted to him.............

8 hours of a big lie would be very uncomfortable.
