Guess we need to let the paint dry in that courtroom overnight. See you tomorrow folks!

You obviously believe you already know the answer.

Honestly I don't. I was asking because I'm interested in what you were saying. Does it happen immediately or after some period of time. I wasn't being sarcastic or smart, you just didn't answer.

Because he collected the hair, he didn't test the hair.......

If it was a stranger's hair, it might mean something, but we already heard testimony today that it would not be unusual to find the defendant's DNA all over the house, and so why not the victim's hair all over the car?

In that hot weather..within 24 hours..JMOO..again OT of thread..sorry:truce:

Thanks. So if the hair was hers from transporting the body, it would be unlikely to have the "death band", right?

Because this particular hair might have a decomp band on it.

If the jury came back with a guilty at this time, we would know that they were not objective.

I agree. It would be because, like me, they just do not like Brad. Or they became totally confused by Cummings.

Does the state of NC allow jury nullification, anyone up on this?

All these witnesses, at RC said, are foundation witnesses. You can't just put on an expert and have them give the results of a test on evidence if you don't establish that the item was seen, then collected, then packaged, then sent somewhere, prelim tests run (if applicable), and then sent to final testing where an expert can testify if they found a result. Rules of evidence require this foundation.

It is establishing the chain of custody for these items. This guy collects, thats it - other than preliminary testing he does nothing else. It is then determined by others what goes where for follow up testing. This is foundation evidence and must be completed for the upcoming witnesses who actually did the testing. That is the way it works, all this squawking about no evidence is premature. Save if for what the lab guys testify to.

All the non-evidence today was "we tested it and found nothing". The only things really collected were some dirt by his shoes, her shoes and the couple of hairs. None of that seemed likely to amount to anything in my opinion.

What did they collect in your opinion (that was discussed today) that would incriminate Brad? The one thing they could have collected that might be relevant was the shopvac bag...but CPDs and CBBIs finest chose not to collect that.

Milk was for the younger daughter not the older daughter. Younger one woke up at 4 am according to BC.

Yks ncsu .... BS-meter ringing wayyyy too high; apprc8 yr feedback. He's had a few years and then some to research, review and re-apply his, er, "testimony". Signing out and back to the sidelines.

You guys - and that's everyone - *always* - rock. Immense research and sleuthin going on here. Here's to JUSTICE for Nancy.

Anagram of Brad:

DRAB ....

About the gas smell/lack of smell...

I'm sure like many of us, I've pumped gas and gotten some on my hand.

After I'm back in the car driving around, the smell permeates the whole car. I smell it everytime I get in and it lasts about a week or so even when I've tried airing it out. I cannot imagine actually spilling gas and how long that would stick around, even if "vacuumed." That smell would probably not leave for months if ever, when soaked into the trunk.

Because this particular hair might have a decomp band on it.

That would be awesome for the prosecution if that's the case. A "smoking gun" I would think.

I like that answer ... he would expect to smell gas for over a week in his own vehicle ... so I guess it's not that unual to spill gas in a vehicle and clean it up.

That was a bad answer for the prosecution since it had been at least 1.5 weeks (if I remember correctly).

I know, I know. But it's moving so painfully slow. My greatest fear is that the jury is going to be fast asleep when the wow factor is presented.....and hopefully by the prosecution.

How long would you expect to smell gas asked of Agent Galloway...he says over a week.

Jury being dismissed for the day.

IFFFFFF gas had of been spilled in his trunk..the carpeting would have smelled like Gas for months IF not years..The petroleum compounds of gasoline is next to impossible to get rid of...I know from experience..Carpet has to be removed completely in order to rid that odor!!

Based on the description a few posts ago, it's very unlikely to have the death band since she wasn't "rotting" at that point. The defense could actually use the lack of a "death band" if it is her piece of hair as evidence that the hair couldn't have been from transporting a body.

I agree with you! It's not the job of the prosecution, judge, jury, etc. to provide us with compelling television. Whatever evidence the prosecution has was sufficient to convince a grand jury to return an indictment. Clearly we've only seen random bits and a lot of tedious tracking of chain of custody, witness testimony about Brad and Nancy's behavior, etc. The jury (and we) will ultimately decide this on the whole of the evidence, not the bits and pieces.

I doubt anyone knows. In the Caylee Anthony murder, the 2 year old was in the car for a few weeks so hair found in the trunk with the death band indicates she was indeed in the car for a some time after death. Transporting someone that was murdered a few hours earlier (or an hour earlier) would not likely produce a death band ... my gut feeling, but, you never know. Maybe an hour is enough. That would be enough to convict as long as no hair could have been transferred from the body to the car at ay time.

Oh, okay. Yes, the human body does start the breakdown process immediately.

Sorry!

Plus you wouldn't vacuum gasoline out. It evaporates, leaving a smell behind, but it doesn't leave flotsam behind like dirt and grass and leaves that need to be vacuumed.

We have no idea how long Nancy lay in that house dead before she was taken to that site and dumped either.
