Something else I wonder, then I'll leave y'all alone.

I know the jury is mostly african american. Am I barking up the wrong tree to think that there maybe have been a hint of bias in naming the men as Hispanics? And that maybe it won't sit well with the jury, for them to be suspicious Hispanics instead of just suspicious men? I only ask this because it didn't sit too well with me.

Yes...

It was Sunday morning, not Saturday that the Hispanic guys were in the neighborhood? Back to the scene of the crime but undercover cause the van was another color now? Dumb crook news if I ever heard it. I just can't believe this is what they got.

No one (here or in the courtroom) is suggesting that the two incidents are related. Based on a prior Q&A I thought you understood this?

As for the guys and the van on Sunday, you are assuming those guys had something to do with the murder. Regardless, being so close to the scene, if you are a detective you want find them and talk to them. If you don't, you shouldn't be a detective.

Has anybody established that they didn't try to find them?

More likely if the men were white they would have been called a group of men (when named by a member of the same demographic, in this case white). If the witness would have said "Mexican men" it might raise eyebrows.

okay, so apparently defense expert Levitan will testify about the erasure (by CPD) of NC phone.

I hope you know how to use the laser pointer better than most of these folks that are testifying...

I can consistently do seven shots to the head at the shooting range. :great:

This is going to be about the psychic I think.

Total new person here - glad to have found you all.

I've been waiting for something good from the defense, and want to make sure I have today's testimony completely clear in my mind: On Friday night, the criminals were smart enough to drive away with the lights off in order to avoid detection. By Saturday morning, they had painted their van another color to avoid detection and were in full of neighborhood residents while they just waited for a jogging victim to come by so they could pick her off and dump her some yards down the road. Rather than putting her body in the van and getting the heck out of there. Have I got this correct?

Welcome!

You're missing something though. These guys also have an aversion to diamonds, but do collect running socks. They must have a fetish.

I wonder if the state will succeed in keeping all of that out too? Should be interesting.

it would be right in line with the judge's previous rulings...

just looked at this guys website, there is no way he will not be qualified as an expert. i wonder if kurtz will go into the voip stuff with him. i don't really think he will since he has DD's no concrete evidence quote to say over and over again at closing.

Sounds like the FBI came instead of CPD.

N'mind. They wore CPD on their shirts.

So....this was a psychic tip??

Not all apparently! They sent three officers to the golf course to pursue the physic lead :woohoo: ...but never attempted to identify and speak with 2 guys seen near the dump site :waitasec:

Well, it does appear police did followup some telephone tips...Is defense trying to ridicule Investigators for even entertaining a tipster who claims to be a psychic?..and ignored the others?..Could be....??

However, I understand that psychics have been actually instrumental in solving some crimes..just cant be used as witnessses...

Whoooaaaaa. Here's Mrs Z.

FWIW, they did this same sort of thing during the Scott Peterson trial, trying to prove LE didn't follow up on all the tips. The fact was, though, LE didn't follow up on some further than initial contact, because there was no PROOF that Lacie was alive that morning and the 'tips' were all over the place, plus they found OTHER persons that COULD HAVE BEEN who the witnesses saw.
