Madelleine....Am I correct that PT used your "fixation with wedding rings" post and described the three incidents of taking wedding rings from women???

I think that some would mock violence toward women, short of murder, is a good indicator of how men who do it still get away with it. He just shoved ya, what's the big deal? He was drunk when he did that, he didn't mean it! You called the police for that? Why did you argue with him when you knew he was mad? He's good most of the time! He's a good father!

It must have been a stirring moment when Klink said Michelle gave as good as she got. Except she didn't. She was beaten to death.
All five foot whatever and 120 some pounds. Of course she fought to the best of her ability. He snuck up on her while she was sleeping. How much fight could she have in her? He towers over her.

This is a serious question. You must have asked yourselves this question.

I have asked this question several times but no one seems to have an answer at least I have not seen one posted. And to me this is crucial. jmo

I'm in a similar position. I do not believe he did this alone. I do believe CY was removed from house for an extended period of time. I think it's highly possible he arranged the whole thing.

No way I would vote to convict on what's been presented.

Not me, I don't feel there was an accomplice at all. jmo :seeya:

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the board, but not to this case. I followed the events on the old CTV message Boards soon after MY was found. I've read this board through many trials over the years and decided it was time to join.

I wonder how long the jury instructions will take?

Bear with me while I try to adjust to the site/features!

bbm.

Many women in abusive relationships feel the same way you stated above but they still ended up six feet under ground.

Every single relationship that is physically abusive has the potential for ending in homicide. People just don't causally tell people who are in abusive relationships to run don't walk away. they say run because you should, and fast.

LOL. No. That was part of trial #1. I'm sure his fixation on the rings was something the state figured out right away.

Believe me, if yelling at my computer would have influenced the PT in any way, they would have done several things different in the 2 cases I followed of theirs (BC and JY T#1), since I had some issues during their cases in chief. Turns out yelling at your computer screen doesn't do anything at all! :-#

Ok, this question is obviously late in coming, but......

I finally was able to muster enough gumption to overcome my repugnance and FINALLY watched the video footage of MM's trial testimony.

That she continued her inappropriately close (imo) relationship with Jason after her "good friend", Jason's wife was beaten to death while she was screwing him (AND Michelle, figuratively speaking), is appalling and seems to show lack of conscience.

Two questions:

Why did she NEVER ask Jason if he had anything to do with Michelle's vicious murder? whaaa??? Who does that? Especially if they have CHILDREN they love and need to protect?

Did the McBroads, their tight circle of sorority sisters, REALLY continue to embrace MM after word of this terrible betrayal of Michelle came out?? Who does THAT?

Can someone help me understand this?

Haha...yes I have been yelling at my screen as well. BC trial nearly made me nuts! Hope this trial brings the same verdict though!!!!

Shortly after the BC trial I found out that Pat Bazemore (Cary Police Chief) knew I had earlier suggested that Det Young (aka "McDreamy") should be my lawn boy and she thought that was quite amusing. Don't know where she heard it, but she didn't hear it directly from me!

BTW, for those wondering, yes Det Young did in fact find out he was referred to as "McDreamy." Apparently some Wake County folk follow WS (or at least did at that time), read that several women were calling him that, and let him know. He got teased constantly about it by his fellow officers and I guess other court personnel during the trial. I heard him talk about it and suggest it "just was a bunch of middle school girls saying that." I assured him that wasn't the case at all and that some of the women referred to him as a "nice looking young man," so the demographic was skewing higher on that age bell curve. He blushed big time, I will say that.

I have a question... JY was a very popular man, best all around in his school, many, many friends at work, at NC State, at home in Brevard, etc, I did not hear from any of these people vouching for his character as a loving father/husband/friend.

Why did the DT not have any of these people testify? There has to be one person that likes JY other than his mother/family. Who?

"Better to let 10 guilty men free than one innocent man suffer."

I totally agree with this, but after seeing LE put so many innocent people away and even after the appeals later show them innocent, they are not willing to give it up that they made a mistake, makes me sure the LE does not agree with this statement.
But, I really do feel that he did it. jmo:seeya:

What bothers me the most about this case is I've always felt he had an accomplice or he hired someone to kill Michelle. Sadly, I'll never get that question answered. The defense, of course, claims it wasn't JY and the prosecution seemed to infer that he may have had help.

If he did have an accomplice, I want to know who and they should be arrested and charged.

I don't think we'll ever know the whole truth.

This is a serious question. You must have asked yourselves this question.

Regarding overkill, I've mentioned my theory a few times that I think the intruder could have been planning to rape MY - and I fully admit there is nothing to back this up evidence-wise.

However, after the closing arguments today and seeing the pictures of MY's closet disheveled and rummaged through, the unidentified prints on the printer papers, etc, I can't help but wonder what the person was looking for, if anything.

Does anyone who is on the fence about JY have any thoughts about that?

Ultimately I think the reason for overkill is that the killer planned to overtake MY quickly and did not expect her to put up a fight. I would think that whether it was JY or someone else.

Also - I don't necessarily think JY is innocent. Nothing about the case makes sense to me whether JY did it or not, but his guilt has not been proven for me beyond a reasonable doubt.

So is mine. And actually He was murdered. Violence begets violence. jmo
And mine is in prison - for a crime against a child no one could have seen him committing. He plead guilty.

I have learned the hard way to never say never when in conjunction with someone capable of abuse. Abusers are the epitome of instability.

Hip hip hooray and cheers to all of us who have booted sociopaths from our lives!!!

My husband's ex had her husband attempt to murder us for a high dollar life insurance payoff. He was unsuccessful, made stupid mistakes, and had to plead guilty in court. (he called 911 to report us dead BEFORE the attack, doh) Ten years later he was "found" dead in their basement from a shotgun blast through his chest. It was declared self-inflicted. We have our doubts. Kharma; she's a wiley one. ;)

Yes, second degree is now in much to the dismay of the DT. I think that shows there is concern again from PT and maybe JS that it will be a hung jury. MOO

So, how did the 2nd degree come about? Who brought it into play in the first place? I only saw that the judge said it applies.

Would this come from him, or which team would have asked for it?
