Absolutely! I hope one day we have a justice system that gets it right every time. I don't know how that would work, but I hope for it.

I have often thought that one thing that might help jurors is a basic one or 2 day tutorial in DNA 101, computer forensics 101, basic cell phone pings etc.

Probably unrealistic but am not sure I am sold on professional jurors.

Just some of the basics as for some this information can be simply overwhelming.

I honestly can't say. I didn't get to see all of the trial from gavel to gavel.

I have gotten to see about the last week and a half of the case.

Of course I did see the CAs but they arent evidence.

IMO

I was referring to the Scott Peterson trial.

How does a cash receipt from the gas station and a witness that was shown a photo of Jason and his car collaborate anything other than the state forcing a piece of the puzzle they can't get to fit other way???

She never ID'ed Jason or his SUV on her own, she was shown his photo and then asked if she saw a white SUV.

I bet you Gracie's testimony is one of the first things discarded in the deliberation room.

could be, hopefully, once the verdict is in, the jury will explain their decision.

Look a little broken to me. Either that, or it's a mock line up.

I apologize.

Oh there is no need to do that OG!

That was a long time ago and I have now been married to a wonderful man for over 28 years who would beat the crap out of anyone that tried to hurt me.

I have even forgiven my ex-husband although it took me three years to get to that point. He begged me to forgive him and I did because it was in my best interest to do so and let that baggage go so that I could go on and have a better life.

I had separated from him at the time and filed for divorce because he was an abusive jealous obsessive fanatic. He couldnt stand the thought that I would truly leave him. He had abused me before he almost killed me but he never did it around our children.

All is well that ends well. My children learned to forgive him too after they saw that I could.

We are friends now and it makes it so much better because of our children. It isnt fair to have children put in the middle of a situation they did not cause.

My husband is such a wonderful understanding person and he knows it is better to have peace in the family than unrest for the sake of our children. So we all get together on special occasions and everyone is friendly and happy when together.

IMO

Strange coincedence. I posted earlier that I am out of state on my DH's business trip. At dinner tonight an older distinguished gentleman and his wife sat down next to me. He asked what I did today and I told him that I listened to the trial. He started laughing and told that he was a NC superior court judge and knew Judge Stephens well. He discussed the murder trials he has presided over and the laws. I could have talked with him for hours. He said he expected a decision on the Durham DA tomorrow.

Oooo, you have to share who it was!! What a great opportunity to get to listen to a Judge, outside of a legal setting!
And yes, Judge Hobgood does think we'll have a Tracey Cline decision in the morning.

Durham DA who has been temporarily suspended for waging a motions war against Judge Orlando Hudson, amongst other accusations of evidence withholding.

:floorlaugh:

Either that, or they would trying to decide whether going to Cracker Barrell is a good idea.

I love Collins though, he is going to make a fine Judge!!

And, Stephen Hale seems like a real nice guy.

Regarding overkill, I've mentioned my theory a few times that I think the intruder could have been planning to rape MY - and I fully admit there is nothing to back this up evidence-wise.

However, after the closing arguments today and seeing the pictures of MY's closet disheveled and rummaged through, the unidentified prints on the printer papers, etc, I can't help but wonder what the person was looking for, if anything.

Does anyone who is on the fence about JY have any thoughts about that?

Ultimately I think the reason for overkill is that the killer planned to overtake MY quickly and did not expect her to put up a fight. I would think that whether it was JY or someone else.

Also - I don't necessarily think JY is innocent. Nothing about the case makes sense to me whether JY did it or not, but his guilt has not been proven for me beyond a reasonable doubt.

I do have 2 theories as there is just something here that does not add up for me.

I have nothing to back it up and it is simply speculation but I have always wondered if it had something to do with with her work.

I know I am wicked late to this party. Here are my thoughts, which, when paired with $1 can get you a nice cup of coffee at Duncan Donuts.

-Becky Holt was amazing. Was it really the same woman? I think Ynotdivein telepathically sent her those anti-umm pills she was talking about. I particularly LOVED how she kept going back to "COMMON SENSE." Does it make sense that he was searching on E-bay for purses a month after his anniversary right before a business trip? Does it make SENSE that the camera was tampered with and then 6 hours later the exact same camera was tampered with? She put it real plain and simple that you really do have to rely on your common sense. But common sense was lost on the Pinellas 12 since Linda Burdick mentioned it as well. Let's hope that this jury has a little more of it? Also I don't know which poster to credit for the wedding ring proclivity of JY, but I am glad the PT picked up on it. When Becky said it I was like "Oh no she DI-int! Way to go sister!"
- My iPhone died while listening to Howard, gonna have to go back and listen again
- Shades of the Peterson (Laci Rocha) case. To the posters here that followed that, would you not agree that there is more evidence tying Jason to this murder than Scott to Laci's? All they had by way of Laci being in that boat was a single hair in pliers. Here we've got his shoeprint! His team even contended it WAS his shoe print (although they claim he didn't wear it at the time) but still! That's as close to a smoking gun in this day and age when criminals are getting much more careful about their crimes.
-ABC's Revenge might be the best show on TV
-I really appreciate all the updates because I wasn't able to watch much
-Grit Guy is my hero. I may have an internet crush!

Isn't JY 6 1? Collins looks pretty tall in that pic.

I thought JY was that tall. And I thought Collins was significantly shorter!
