Who else strongly disagrees with ending not just early but at this point in the case? I'm not too thrilled.
What's to disagree about? They ran out of witnesses due to being ahead of schedule.

I wonder if she had counselling after the incident in college or whether she still had unresolved issues based on the previous assault.
Life happened, women were pregnant, babies were born before cell phones were invented. A husband that was at work or away from phones while his wife was pregnant was not the end of the world.

Ah, the jury can go home with the last testimony presented that from the counselor. IMHO, that helps the prosecution.
On a different note, MANY THANKS to all posting updates as to what is happening for those of us that can't watch or listen. I rely on your updates to keep up!

Do we know that he intentionally turned off his cell phone? Every once in a while my cell phone will turn off during the night after the battery drains and I don't know it until I check it in the morning. Wouldn't it be possible that something like that happened that night?
Michelle said that Jason was a practical joker and good fun but it sometimes went too far for her ... he didn't stop when she'd had enough.
That sure does resemble 'other' arguments/excuses I have heard TRYING to explain/excuse away the unexplainable.
Not the end of the world, but WHY do that when you DIDN'T have too???
What is easier-
one call to spouses cell phone
or
At least a call to the hotel, hotel rings room, if he doesn't answer, they have to locate him, what if they can't???
That is a weak argument IMO.
the phone being off bothers me.
moo
what a heart breaking headline.

Mom: Michelle Young seemed 'void of life' before slaying
RALEIGH, N.C. Michelle Young's mother testified Friday that her daughter had become increasingly sad and introverted in the months leading up to her beating death more than five years ago.

Jason called Michelle and told her exactly where he was and where he was staying.
Can you imagine if she called him during the nite, and the clerk had to go to his room, and no Jason...........:what:
Or, if the hotel fire alarm went off and all 49 rooms were accounted for, except #421?
Yeah, she knows. But if something happens to her... how do responders???
Seems to me he took several huge chances with what he did... so far, he has slipped by those 'chances'.
Still... WHY would you turn off your phone? You can turn the ringer off so it will not effect sleep and STILL get your calls. Saying that it is normal is stretching it IMO.
If you go on a business trip it might be a good idea to take a charger.

... speaks to boundary issues ..
Knowing when enough is enough .. and no is no ..
imo
No kidding, Otto. I absolutely do not see how his phone being "on" or "off" is something to be significant in this case. MOO
He may have had a charger or he may have not had one... it doesn't matter. The point I was making is that it could be very possible that he thought the phone had enough charge to last through the night. If he was mistaken then he would not have noticed it until the morning when he discovered that the phone was turned off.
I have no idea if he intentionally turned off the phone or not. I'm just pointing out that there is, in fact, a pretty reasonable explanation for the phone being off while his pregnant wife was alone at home. I don't see the fact that the phone was turned off as absolute proof that he was trying to cover his tracks.

Therapist is of the impression that Michelle is a victim of verbal abuse by Jason, and that martial (couples) counseling is not appropriate; marital counseling is not indicated for abuse victims.
