TWENTY EIGHT calls to his momma that morning. And no, they weren't all dropped calls. Give me a break. That's not just a little strange; that's way off the charts strange. And let's use some common sense--at some point, if you were having lots of dropped calls, you'd say "forget it, I'll call you when I get to my next appointment or get to a clear area."

Three calls to Meredith that morning/afternoon plus he gets his momma to call her too. All for a printout on a printer of an expired auction for a coach purse for an anniversary that had passed by 3 weeks? He's worried about that? BTW, he is acting like his wife is at work (where she was expected to be). WHY would it be sooo urgent for Meredith to get over to the house that day...that early afternoon... to get that printout when his wife wasn't even at home (supposedly) and wouldn't be until 5:30pm or thereabouts?[/QUOTE]

That is put so well it bears repeating to me. How concerned could he have been about the ebay auction that he didn't want his wife to find it that evening when she returned home from work? He had already missed their anniversary and I believe it's been testified that Michelle told him not to buy anything without her okaying it.

As a typical man who has no clue about pocketbooks and such, I certainly wouldn't buy one for my wife (especially a high dollar Coach item!) unless I knew what she wanted. This explanation defies common sense.

If he'd "forgotten" it there, Michelle may have already discovered it. But if she hadn't yet, he would have been home from Brevard sometime that night. Pregnant at home tending to a 2-year-old, he was afraid she'd find the expired auction printout of something she supposedly was going to approve before he bought it anyway? SO concerned that he needed his sister-in-law to go hide the printout? That he needed his mom to call Meredith also?

Ummm...yeah.

Def talking about an expert hired by the Young family.

Is this another "Henry Lee" type guy?

No transfer from the hotel to the master bedroom.

I think the phone call testimony cuts both ways. One one hand, all of the phone activity looks extremely suspicious. On the other, it does not place him in the area of his home. To me, it reinforces his alibi.

I found it confusing. Maybe the jurors understood it better, but maybe some were confused as well. And where there is confusion, there is reasonable doubt.

BTW, I don't think the purse auction is strange. I can pick out a purse for my wife just fine. Jason seems like a smart, slick guy. Not to mention he has carried on all these affairs, so one could conclude he knows how to please a woman, court them, and manipulate them by purchasing gifts. I don't think it is unreasonable to think he can pick out a damn purse.

this testimony very interesting......I sooooo hope jury is attentive. All they have to do is put all the pieces of the pie together to make a whole. And when they do, there is no other option....Slayer is guilty of the slaughter of Michelle.

Circumstantial evidence...yes, BUT compelling!

ITA, add up the pieces and you wind up at JY.

One thing that has not been mentioned, at least lately, is the old tried and true question:

Who stands to benefit from the death of Michelle Young?

Consider:
.......$1,000,000.00 Life Ins. Policy, payable to JY
.......Being single again
.......No longer being tied to Raleigh due to her good job
.......No second child to be born into the family
.......His schedule is his own as long as someone tends CY -- playing sports, being with "the guys"
.......No more mother-in-law in the house
.......Possible gain of funds from the sale of MY's car
.......Whatever money he makes is all his
and so forth....

The stranger(s) get(s) the benefit of the wedding rings and whatever else was in the jewelry box.

If Jay had did a walk through with LE the night he returned from his trip, think there would have been some transfer from the hotel? Good reason to stay away from scene.

I missed the beginning of the phone testimony.

Did he call the hospital to let the person he was to meet with know that he would be late? He ended up being 35 minutes late to that appointment (his first sales call with the company and with this customer).

And I agree, all this phone activity, but refusing to take incoming calls from MF and LF is very telling.

Also, in one of the SWs, the calls between PY and JY are listed for the month prior to the murder. I didn't add them up, but it's a crazy number of calls. I would be interested to see the previous pattern (several months prior) - consistent or a new pattern?

No, no I do not.

But if that happened the defense would point that out at trial, and I personally would disregard the transfer as pointing to guilt. IYKWIM :)

By staying away from his home he made it more suspicious in my eyes.

I have another question, if anyone knows... According to the phone records jy calls my's work phone at 12:02p on the 3rd, duration of 47 seconds. Was this a voicemail? If so, did they access it to find out what he said? Was it not a direct line and he spoke with someone? If so, was he told she didn't show, and he still had MF go over to check on the printout?
47 seconds is a long voicemail.

Slick is NOT ordering a purse 3 wks after the anniversary AND after the bidding is over anyway. Plus the chance the wife will see the order if she did happen to return from work. Slick in a different way maybe... but not in that example IMO.

What were the dates of their anniversaries? They had two ceremonies ... did they normally do something special for one, the other, both, none?

  • #135
Why would they celebrate anything 3 weeks after the actual celebration date? Chrismas in Jan... birthdays 3 weeks after... easter in may doesn't seem reasonable in any way.

  • #136
How many minutes was Jason supposedly inside the hotel room (before Michelle was murdered)? Did he spend his time in the room rolling around on the carpet picking up carpet fibers? All he had to do was change clothes/shoes before he left to go kill his wife.....and the video of him in the since-that-night-missing-shirt supports that theory. jmt

Ummm...yeah.

I have picked out myself multiple purses for my girl and generally speaking, she loves ANYTHING from Coach. I would have no qualms about buying one for her site unseen. Even if it was "fake" she would likely never now, unless it was one of the fakes with a G instead of a C or something.

It does "seem" like a story to get MF over to his house, but it is not completely ridiculous and I could see myself asking a friend or relative to do the same thing if I was trying to surprise her and screwed up and left something like that on the printer.

Went back and looked at MM on the stand in the last trial. She has to fight smiling, her demeanor appears she is enjoying her fifteen minutes. IMO

And this was a friend of MY? Creepy.

I found her creepy, too.! She testified last go around that she ordered MY a pair of sunglasses as a gift. (They came in the week after MY was murdered.) How about keep your hands and everything else off of her husband? That would be a much better gift. What a good "friend." She really disgusts me. I couidnt believe she actually had the nerve to say 'Yes" when asked by the pro "Did you still consider MY a friend while you were having an intimate relationship with her husband? " I know I already mentioned this, but that made me sick to no end. How about "No. At this point I was not a good friend." Buying her a pair of sunglasses doesn't really even out sleeping with your good friend's hubby. MM knew MY long before she knew Jason. Michelle and Jason Young went to MM's wedding and that's when Jason first met her. (per MM testimony last trial.) I know women cheat ...have affairs. However, to have an intimate relationship with your good friend of many years husband ...while you yourself are married as well ....with children involved in both families is unimaginale. Does she have a conscious? I was surprised to hear her hubby stayed with her after he found out about her affair via LE/ detectives and went on to have another child. This is what I heard her testify to last trial. Someone pls let me know if I misunderstood what Mrs. Money was saying about this. Im not sure if I can even watch her again.

Yeah but the main things to notice are 3 weeks after the anniversary and a closed auction... then the calls to get MF to get her over there.

They were apart for the Anniversary so it is not competely unreasonable. My primary family (parents, siblings) live in different areas of the country with jobs that require travel as well, so we do our Xmas in the middle of Jan to meet everyone's schedule.

I am celebrating VD at the end of Feb to meet our schedule, etc.
