Someone still needs to explain to me why there was a ROCK and why there was a TWIG. :waitasec:

He 'said' he used twig to prop door to go smoke cigar.

A rock was actually found holding the door slightly open... not a twig.

IIRC JY said he used a twig, but the hotel worker found a rock? Also read here, not yet in this trial that JY went out that door twice. So who knows? LOL

That wasn't very helpful :waitasec:

Hotel employees found a rock,
Mr. Young testified he used a twig.

Rock was found, twig prolly blew away. JMO

Very, very windy nite, checked weather conditions fro Hillsville that nite, gusts were strong.

But, wait for the trial explanation.!

If he put the rock there, why did he say he used a twig?

The phone expert was very interesting and informative. JY was sure a chatty cathy that morning.. looked very bad imo

Glad you woke up sleepy head.

Thanks, I am good at catching up though!!

Has he been charged with the murder of the baby boy?

In my opinion they did it muddy the waters. If JLY said he used a twig, someone else must have used the rock and that person may have done the camera tampering.

Because the rock was still there and the hotel employee found it early that am , but Jason says he used a twig and when he was done took it out, closer to midnite.

LUNCHTIME!!

No.

Laws were not in place then, but a bill was passed late last year that would now include fetal homicides as well.

I agree that it should have been and I agree with anyone who thinks this should have been tried as a Death Penalty case.

If ever a case warranted the DP, this one did !

Here is one thing we know for certain. The murderer of Michelle Young chose to leave Cassidy Young as a possible witness. He spent some amount of time with her during the commission of the crime. He drugged her with adult strength medicine, medicine that Jason Young as a pharma salesman would know (established by Young's former employer, he was professionally required to know this medicine).

In short, Jason Young spared Cassidy Young's life that awful morning. It is not much of a stretch to presume he wanted her to be found and tended to as quickly as possible after he'd returned to Virginia. As terrible as it is to say this, that Cassidy Young is an 8-year-old girl today and not buried next to her mother is just one more brick in the wall that makes up the case against Jason Young.

BBM

Not that anyone can answer this, and as horrible as it sounds, but why? He had so much rage in him, so much anger, but yet was able to switch it off for her. Note, this is really a question no matter who was the killer.

He screwed up. I'm not sure why he didn't just say he used a rock to hold to door open while smoking.

No, the law on fetal homicides in NC didn't go into effect until last December. There was a woman named Jenna Nielsen who was murdered when she was 8 months pregnant, delivering newspapers in the early morning hours. The law is named for her unborn son who died as a result of the stabbing. Her murderer has never been found. :(

I agree. Why did he say anything at all. Was he caught on camera?

I remember that case. Terrible.

I'm getting confused with all these details, but...

IF HE WAS SO FREAKED OUT ABOUT HAVING Meredith RETRIEVE THE PRINT OUTS that he made a ton of calls about it (even having his mom call MF), then WHY THE HECK DIDN'T HE TAKE MF'S CALL WHEN SHE TRIED TO REACH HIM in the afternoon? Did he all of a sudden not care about the coach purse printouts which he was so panicked over a few hours earlier? Why didn't he keep trying to call her to see if she was successful?

Shaking my head over the ridiculousness of the 'coach purse printout retrieval' excuse...

Yes it is completely ridiculous. I don't understand how JY would think anyone would believe this.

He was caught on camera going out the door but didn't use a key card to come back in. He had to explain how he got back into the hotel. IMO he was afraid the rock could be tied back to him through DNA or fingerprints, so he came up with the twig story instead.

These are great points. He STOOD to benefit, but he had to be crazy to think anything positive could become of this. There is no way any of this could pan out in the end. Even if acquitted, his life is toast.

The defense could make great points about what he stood to LOSE if he actually murdered his wife, and that list would be a hell of a lot longer.

Oh I totally believe he felt this was the likely outcome. He thought his plan would result in him getting away with murder. I think he seriously underestimated LF and her perseverance and the bringing of a civil case against him, with monetary damages. THAT'S what blew his luck. Because he could have had Kimmy keep his daughter, sell the house and with the life insurance money, buy a better place (to keep pace with his buddies'), live the high life, and hang out with the guys AND gals whose company he so enjoyed. He didn't care about the stigma of having been a suspect. He wrote in his own words in an email to his sister that memories would fade and it wouldn't make a bit of difference to anyone with a little passing of time. Yep, he got the life insurance policy, made his plan, and executed it. But the civil case judgment gets him regardless of the outcome of this criminal trial. He's economically screwed forever. Good.

IIRC, Fax, seems like during the 1st trial, many of us wondered why she was the DT's witness to start with, since she seemed to say nothing that helped JY. Also she seemed unbiased and believable. Seems like...

So maybe she wasn't on the DT witness list this time, so the PT subpoenaed her. Dunno.

The search warrant outlining *Terry Tiller's stmt to police is that she says she saw a car at Birchleaf between 4-5 am.
This blew the state's timeline for Jason.

However, when she was called by the defense, she backed up on her timeline to around 3:30 am,therefore they called her this time, before the defense did.

I found her to be credible.
