Have we heard that? I understood, even from the friend that testified, that opinions were still be sought regarding the type of gift he would purchase.

It's so hard to believe when he's told reasonable stories like propping his hotel room door open to avoid bugging other people by closing it and leaving it that way so he can smoke downstairs. :floorlaugh:

IF one side of the def or pros can show that a witness lied on the stand, then the jury is instructed that they can then THROW OUT all of the testimony of that witness, forgetaboutit, or whatever, because he's been proven a liar so anything he says to point towards his innocents, cannot be relied on as being truthful statements.

In other words, once a liar, always a liar, imho.

They are still doing this in a manner that gives me NO sense of security. Can the jury follow? Neither HC or Sp. appear to have a command of this part of the testimony. Gosh, they just drive me crazy. I am still a type A personality, thought I would have outgrown it by now. Impatient, I want to get to the good stuff.... and the prosecution better bring it this time.

I agree. He may be the worst husband in the world, but if he wasn't in the house when his wife was killed, I'm not sure how much it will help.

Also, if being married with a child really didn't hamper JY from doing exactly as he pleased, then what's the point of getting rid of your wife? It's a big risk when you already do anything you want anyway. Yes, the insurance money is speculated at, but that isn't really proven either. Was it? I know they don't have to prove motive, but they seem to be trying to.

It goes to weighing the credibility of the witness. If the jurors find that he is not credible as a witness, they don't have to believe anything he's said. They can rely on it if they choose, but they do not have to.

I'm not watching it but I suppose the idea is to demonstrate he is fulling willing to lie to the jury and is doing so. Why would he do that? How can you give any credence to his stories on the hotel, clothes, and charity shoes?
