WOW, LF got $150K for taking care of MY's estate.

  • #522
$4M life ins minus $4K legal fees....confused where the rest went when Mrs F got $150K some thousand?

  • #523
Over million in legal fees? Jason couldn't afford to fight that.

Well that was a contingency fee.

The case would have been expensive to defend I agree, but nothing like that.

HC is fired up and on a roll!!!

  • #525
Oh, so JY agreed to this BEFORE the judge could review the evidence?

Civil cases are usually taken on a percentage basis. I believe civil lawyers usually charge something like 30 %.

Often times say 25% if no trial and goes up from there. All a matter of agreement between the attorney and client, in most cases.

"abundantly clear that Jason was targetted?"

Targetted? Regardless of whether or not one believes there is enough evidence for proof beyond a reasonable doubt.....can anyone honestly say there's a logical suspect to "target" besides Jason? I sure can't. But that's jmt.

JMO, but maybe the owner of the unknown prints at scene of crime??

No, she has been smiling.

She was not happy with Klink's questions. Her demeanor was more of angry stare unless she has a variety of tics.

I'm not sure. I'm still hung up on how JY can say he couldn't reply because he couldn't afford an attorney but yet his reason for not talking to LE was due to his attorney's advice. So did he have one or not or did it depend on the day and/or question asked?

Custody attorney vs. civil wrongful death suit attorney vs. criminal attorney.

He would have needed all three.

DT showing executrix (LF) received commission of 156,000.

DT stopped there.

A lot of ouches in this line of testimony.

huh? ouches why?

Pro-tip: When your client is on trial for murder and keeps getting referred to as the "SLAYER" that's bad.

What a day. Never can predict how a trial will go, or what a jury will do!

Maybe the point being that if he was targeted, he knew a criminal indictment was coming down the pike which is why he didn't respond to the civil lawsuit.

I posted yesterday that I'll give this one to the Defense.....not that I believe his answer that he didn't have $$ to fight wasn't a lie. But he surely knew a criminal charge was more than a possibility and the $$ he had would've been blown through in no time with a lawyer before he got to a criminal trial. But......

I just can't accept the word "targetted", let alone with the phrase "abundantly clear that Jason was targetted". IMO there isn't enough significant evidence, forensic or otherwise, to point the investigation to another person of interest. And there's far far too many coincidences that just happened to occur in the same time frame that point to you-know-who. But again.....jmt.

huh? ouches why?

JY getting pounded by PT.

DT sliding that in about LF getting some money from the estate as a commission - a low blow I think, but today is a weird one.

eta: Both sides throwing punches as hard as they can!

So JY had access to all the evidence LE was handling and COULD have testified in court, (kinda' like he did here). But yet he chose to remain silent. Go on record as the 'slayer of Michelle Young' and loose custody of his only child?

Yeah, it was the money problem.

NOT!

JMHO

This witness appears to have Tourrette's Syndrome or some form of it. The facial 'grins' are not actual smiles. It's a tic, IMHO.

That said, she may also be annoyed at the DT questions, I don't know.

I know someone right now, involved in a civil case, an accident where the other driver was totally 'at fault'. The lawyer is charging 40% plus costs, which I thought was rather steep to say the least. The is the attorney for the plantiff, not the defendant. The people I'm referring to were crashed into from behind, at a stop light, by a logging truck. I thought 40% off the top, going to the lawyer was really high.

She may simply be disgusted at having to look over toward a man who would beat an innocent pregnant woman to death - I wouldn't rule that out!

That is high. Around my neck of the woods PI cases are 33% standard.
