IMHO, this def attorney is being SURE the jury in this murder trial KNOW part of the decision against JY was because they agreed, because of the evidence, that JY killed MIchelle.

The judge told them this didn't mean he was guilty in the criminal trial. Now he's pushing the envelope so the jury knows they saw everything available to them today.

Wow! I think he just sunk his client.:what:

I think today is an excellent day for the PT.

I know someone right now, involved in a civil case, an accident where the other driver was totally 'at fault'. The lawyer is charging 40% plus costs, which I thought was rather steep to say the least. The is the attorney for the plantiff, not the defendant. The people I'm referring to were crashed into from behind, at a stop light, by a logging truck. I thought 40% off the top, going to the lawyer was really high.

Jeez... get them to call gritguy.

Ahhh. I see why they weren't arguing quite so hard. Nice one, Klink.

I won't stay OT on it, :innocent: but just to answer the fee might be justified if the case is tough or total dollars pretty low. Used to go that high on a few. Have to run it as a business. OTOH, lower if it didn't go to trial. Of course, I'm out of the market so what do I know! :rocker: :twocents:

For a policy that large you usually have to have a paramed exam. Height/Weight/Blood Pressure/Urine in most cases.

You got it, dgfred -- We applied for some additional insurance ~ 10 years ago. The policy was nowhere near 1 mil -- way less. We were not 27,28, ...30 years old, but we weren't in our 50+ years, either. The insurance co. sent a rep over to take our BP, heart rate, and drew blood. (I thought it might be for an AIDS test, I have no idea, but they do do that.) We qualified okay for the coverage, but my point is that they do ask for health tests sometimes, as you said.

I was sitting right behind her. She appears to be an attorney, or someone who knows the PT well, as she went up and talked with them at their "station" during the 5-minute break. She was also very chatty with the cameraman. She's been there every time I have.

Any chance you were in the courtroom on Tuesday sitting behind her? I know exactly who you're referring to, the woman with the straight brown hair. There was a gentleman in a suit on Tuesday behind her who appeared to have WS pulled up on his phone. :)

Why is he going over the 'expenses' of the civil case? He's prolonging this witness to make her testimony more important than it might have been.

This is crazy. Is he trying to be Perry Mason?

He missed the mark, imho.

You gotta give Klink credit, he's throwing the kitchen sink out there. May not help, but he's at least trying to make an argument and not whining like that other lawyer from the BC trial.

This witness appears to have Tourrette's Syndrome or some form of it. The facial 'grins' are not actual smiles. It's a tic, IMHO.

That said, she may also be annoyed at the DT questions, I don't know.

The only expressions I have seen are those of being tired, and getting really impatient. Seems as though she thinks this line of questioning is a waste of time. I have not seen any sign of tics. jmo

Wow, great attempt at deflection there... I guess.

Afternoon break.........

Back from a hair cut & color and caught up to date. Good job on reporting. I don't feel I missed a thing.

I'm surprised JY claimed poverty as a reason not to fight the custody. Surely, PY would have preferred to fight it to have sonny boy imp to keep his daughter???

Seriously! What was that about?

If he's trying to show how expensive it is, their expenses, prior to attorney fee and LF, was only $4K.

JY had way more than that in his bank account and disposal.

PS.....break!
