JY may have cleaned/redressed both himself and CY at essentially the same time. He probably changed CY first so that in dealing with her to get her back in bed -- hugging, tucking in, etc., -- he woudn't get blood from her body/clothing on his clean clothes.

My youngest daughter has had two C-Sections, and never was anything like this mentioned by anyone, not son in law, nor daughter. That is so gross IMO. What a weird thing to say.
