I have TTV on..........so, I am catching up that way.

They are saying that they thought they might get something big yesterday out of replaying Jason's testimony, possibly even an impeachment....

But, they didn't.....

Maybe we need Fiona to replace BH!!!

On the policy he stated that he did not smoke cigarettes or cigars within the past year. Since he testified that he only occasionally smoked cigars, it would be easy for the defense to claim that he hadn't smoked any during the year before he filled out the form. This doesn't seem to be a strong "gotcha".

Shows he will lie!! Plus if you die and they can confirm you smoke at all the policy will not pay out!!

I don't put too much into checking 'no' for smoking on the insurance application. He's known to lie, why wouldn't he do that same thing to get an insurance application through.

If you say you smoked, your rate might be higher too.

Looks like I missed a lot, and none of it looks good for the defense today.

Fiona was a solid witness, IMO. Very sharp.

True... but it also shows he didn't 'like' them too much.

Another point for him is that cigar smoking can not be found in your system as easily. Not too many years ago you could still get a non-smoker policy, even if you OCCAISIONALLY smoked cigars. Which was weird.

People lie ALL the time on insurance apps regarding smoking.

I am surprised how inexpensive their insurance was though for those very high amounts. Sure they were very young, but still. $80 a month for $2 million life (and AD&D which is always dirt cheap) and $140 for JY. Very inexpensive.

:floorlaugh:

If you die, how would you collect anyway?

For a policy that large you usually have to have a paramed exam. Height/Weight/Blood Pressure/Urine in most cases.

It's just another piece. He's either committing insurance fraud (dishonest) or he doesn't smoke cigars (another strike against his alibi).

Insurance carriers don't really care if you only smoke cigars "occasionally" - if they did, they would ask the question that way...with a scale of frequency.

Yeah, plus living without heat is bad on the body/mind.

They sure don't get by with lying about it now... especially with large policies.

Wow, that was inexpensive.

He's so inappropriate. I can imagine that MY cringed whenever they were out in social situations together. I may be projecting though cuz I had an SO like this in a previous life and my stomach was in knots whenever we were around other people.

NCB, I am NOT asking this to be snippy or disrespectful, why do women marry a man like this? I am just disgusted by JY behavior and for the life of me can not figure out what she ever saw in him. I just can not comprehend why??

Did I hear correctly, the entire 4 million was paid out?

Some times they have to pay out... but they take out of the proceeds any premium you would have paid for being a smoker. Others void the policy.

Juror who requested a break had been talking and laughing about two minutes prior. Wasn't anywhere near the d tricks comment though. I think she just really needed to pee.

I will say, having seen this jury on more than one occasion, that I feel some of them will be strong NG jurors. There are some I'd say are definite G jurors also.

Yikes!!! thanks for that!!!
