Michelle likely married him because he didn't act this way initially. At first he was more than likely charming. Abusers are predators who study their prey intensely and use their innermost desires and weaknesses to manipulate/control them. They are chameleons capable of mimicking normal human response and emotion even when they are incapable of truly feeling.

At the beginning stages of their relationship he would have appeared her Prince Charming and told her everything she most wanted to hear. During the actual abuse phases he would revert back to the Prince in order to secure and maintain control. (Known as the 'honeymoon' phase.) It is this phase that usually keeps a victim with his/her abuser. They manipulate hope. :(

As an example it is quite possible JY initially sympathized with Michelle over her sexual assault in college. I believe he would have attempted to identify and empathize with her. Later though we know he used it as a resentful weapon against her probably to excuse his own behaviors.

What an excellent post! IMO.

We know the Pros is trying to show a motive, and we also know that a motive is not always necessary but it helps...

Okay, but.......!!

1) In the entire 5+ years Jason has never tried to collect any insurance money, not from her work and not from this larger policy.

2) there is no way any insurance company is going to pay out on a murder case, and

3) the crime scene would never be classifed as an accident

I'm praying the G folks will have the fortitude and wherewithal to convince the NG folks they are wrong.

Me too, but that is a tough assignment, imo.:seeya:

Very attentive and all appear to be taking notes. I see 5-6 that I think will be solid G and 2-3 that I think will hold out.

Are you a jury consultant? Most of those will even tell you that you can never be quite sure which way a jury will swing. Can I ask on what you are basing your opinions?

Great Post!!!

Basically the same way JY did w/ MM about her concerns her husband was cheating and JY telling her what he saw!!

Much of the Trooper's report was probably based on what MY told him - she had NO IDEA JY may have been attempting to kill her.

Accidents can be reopened and reinvestigated years and years later..

Don't you think this would have been done in some matter?

This is our situation as well. He wanted to be sure me and our son were taken care of if, God forbid, something were to happen to him. I know there's quite a bit more insurance through his company, but I haven't asked how much, because I don't care.

My wife is a sahm and I have 500k on her. It would be hard to replace what she does with the children (including home schooling). We follow the Dave Ramsey principals and 400-500k for a sahm is not excessive.

I am a little bit confused. Did JY change the policy amount on MY over the computer? If this is what happened that is incredible. I take it that this insurance man, the last person before lunch, was not part of the first trial.

If there's one thing I've learned in following cases on forums...no one knows what a jury will do. People think they know, but predictions made are often wrong.

I was certainly wrong about the Anthony case. Did not see that coming at all!

I do appreciate the eye-view of the jury, but after the Peterson, Anthony, and Cooper trials, I don't put any stock whatsoever in reading the jury. We don't have any clue on what verdict any of them might leaning towards until its read.

IMO

Thank you.

Besides, it wouldn't matter if the policy was a hundred million dollars, no way was anyone going to collect on a murder.......

Yes, there's insurance on me as well.

No one could have seen that coming........
I don't think we will ever get over that one.......

:maddening:

I hear you. My motto when talking about jurors is.... "Remember Pinellas"

Why not?

If my husband were to be murdered, I'd still be able to collect.

Please tell me other than 'just because' or my feelings tell me, what are the facts that show JY did this crime. I am not saying I don't think he did, but what is concrete proof that the jury will get? tia

The HP shoe print, I would think, for sure. That can't be explained away without stretching credulity, IMO.
