From watching just that little segment of his testimony, I was left with the impression that they were in Applebee's and they were there for a period of time. He mentions receiving the "don't talk without a lawyer calls" and his sister finding and calling the attorney (presumably Tharrington Smith). I don't know the details well enough to know if they ate, threw back a couple of vodka tonics to quell the nerves, had a chocolate lava cake for a sugar rush or what, but I was left with the impression from HIS testimony (and the way Mr. Collins phrases the question) that they were inside.

Moo and all that jazz.

bbm

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Thanks, NCB, I needed that little part in there. I really did L O L !! It felt good.

So let me get this straight. Both PY and MF give corroboratory info on what JY was wearing when they saw him first when he returned to Brevard and Raleigh (respectively) but we still need photos or video? aiyiyi!

Yup pretty much. And now I can kind of see how we got the result we did down in Florida in the Anthony case. It really is a very sad trend regarding evidence presented in Court.

There are several hours missing then. They filled up in Burlington at 8:30 and that is less than an hour to Fuquay. What time did they get to Meredith's house? They must have been at Applebee's for quite a while.

I know that Heather's time is completely wrong if you compare it with the time that MF said that they arrived.

This was a family in shock, no matter what you may think of Jason..

imo

I may have the videos mixed up, but didn't we see him gassing up the suv in a white shirt and tie on his way to his mother's. I think? :waitasec:

So ... about the jury reviewing evidence before the defense arguments ... if the jury is not supposed to form an opinion until they've heard everything, what are they supposed to extract from viewing the evidence?

  • #547
Or, we can just add Applebee's to the list of things we will never agree / or stipulate to.

I think we can agree he was there. The rest, agree to disagree!

Yes, that is what he put on around 7AM Friday for his meeting and still had on at 9:30PM that same day. The only change was mama made him put on that creme sweater so he would not go into shock. :floorlaugh:

What kind of shoes was he wearing?

Looks like the shoes he wore to his meeting were in the back of the SUV.

A photo of Jason arriving back In Raleigh would have captured more than his clothing, his demeanor, emotions, expressions......

Guess you missed Pat's statement about his clothes.
What do you suggest happened to his pullover seen at Midnight and not in his luggage or car the very next next day? You are spouting the defense questions, which were not at all effective, imo.
They have a major problem explaining this evidence (or lack of it). So far, all they can do is hint there was a SBI conspiracy to frame him by destroying evidence...lame

I disagree. Investigators failed to make any attempt to collect the clothes that Jason was wearing, or that he may have removed from his car, when he arrived at Meredith's place. I think that this is problematic when there are claims that clothing was missing. We know that clothing were missing ... including all the clothes that Jason was wearing the day that the murder was discovered. To suggest that they are missing because they bore evidence of murder seems absurd.

They are missing because they were never requested.

Can I agree he was on the Applebee premises without being inside, or does that make me a hostile poster?

I'm not believing any of it unless there is a video of the person taking a picture of the person videoing JY wearing every article of clothing he had, though not necessarily all at once.

What I find so strange and extremely concerning that our society, and by extension all possible potential jury members for any case in the future, need one single physical piece of evidence to point to guilt. Or they need to see actual pictures and videos of a crime or some aspect of a defendant's activities.

I think the point is that each piece of the puzzle needs to be evaluated in it's totality. And decide if Jason Young is indeed perhaps the most unlucky man alive to have so many unfortunate bad coincidences happen on the very night his wife is violently murdered. Or if each of these coincidences are truly just that, coincidences.

I still think it's very unfortunate to have the Pinellas 12 trend that follow so much CSI and crime shows that potential jurors and even juries themselves need the same kind of drama and evidence that is routinely seen in FICTIONAL television shows.

Circumstantial cases are just as compelling as a case with actual videotape or pictorial depictions of a murder. Nor does it mean that a defendant in a circumstantial case is any less guilty than a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 who is videotaped shooting a store clerk during a botched robbery.

Its as though common sense in the Courtroom has completely vanished. And the Pinellas 12 are the norm rather than the exception.

I have compiled a list of reasonable doubt over the years and am almost prepared to post promptly over the weekend, before the defense starts their powerful and gripping performances.

Or , is that the Oscars this weekend?

.

The boots or the worn out, light brown slip-on's with the square toe?

That does no good explaining the dark brown, round toe shoes seen in 2 videos on 11-2-06.

If you've listened to the testimony (or read credible reports) that make you think that, I'd say your opinion is at least as well founded as mine, maybe more.

All I heard so far was JY saying we were at Applebees, so I took it he was at least on the premises, and that's where we agree I think. :rocker:

Of course, at this point, I am truly said to say, who could believe them? You certainly would not want to base your future on their positions on the circumstances dealing with this trial. Seriously, why would you need to cover your posterior like they have?

I wouldn't want to tussle with Alice Stubbs in any legal setting. She knows her stuff. She's as big around as my pinky, but that woman could probably get me to confess to crimes I never even heard of. She's that good, IMHO.

Agree with that, Mad. If you hesitate just a smidge, she'll be all over you in court or in a depo. If you're on the other side of the table from her, she is pee-in-your-pants-material. The best I've ever seen, and she doesn't give an inch or a breath of air.

If they'd asked for clothing, how could they have ever been certain afterwards that they'd been given what he actually had on? Oh, corroboration from witnesses who were with him? Welp, we have that.

The only way that would have helped with anything is if they could have gone charging into MY's apartment and snatched the clothes off his back and the shoes off his feet.
