SS wasn't coming over "later" she was coming to eat dinner. I find it very strange that Michelle would make plans with a friend and then turn around and invite the daycare worker to join in.

JMO

SS was definitely coming over later. Babysitter and MY were having the conversation as MY picked up CY from daycare. Late. SS was not there yet. Therefore, she was coming later.

Wouldn't it be strange if she testifies on behalf of Jason Young, yet, she was the one who was involved with the depo
against Brad Cooper ?

If I recall, some were upset that she may have coordinated with LE or the DA regarding the deposition. Not saying she did. But, if she were so friendly to the state then in a prosecution of a slayer, who is to say she would not be a benefit to the state during c-x here. The supposition that because she represented JY at some point means her truthful testimony would help him in this murder trial is just that: supposition.

I agree as has been said that JY surely did not confess. And they would not have asked that question. The rest of what was said, who knows.

Well, the defense can make the call. I don't know what she said to JY and vice versa, but if I were the state, I'd hope they'd call her. I would definitely, definitely want that.

I wouldn't want to tussle with Alice Stubbs in any legal setting. She knows her stuff. She's as big around as my pinky, but that woman could probably get me to confess to crimes I never even heard of. She's that good, IMHO.

Yes. It's no question of her being outmaneuvered during an exam. It's just a question of what, once that door is opened, might truthfully come out of her mouth.

If she does not testify, perhaps that is because the DT has talked to her and find such to be a bad idea. If she does testify, then we'll know!

I wonder what happens if the DT calls CY? How the PT would handle that on cross?

Note: I would hope this would not happen, because I'm not sure what benefit there is to gain from her testimony.

I can't imagine anyone calling Cassidy to testify. It would completely alienate the jury, and anything she could say about Nov 2/3, 2006 would not be reliable/admissible.

What in the world is strange about making plans with a friend and inviting someone else?

And more importantly, why are we still talking about something that was posted here incorrectly in the first place, that has caused any number of us to waste time correcting it?

The upshot of the whole deal is, CY and JY most certainly did not mow together and wash their feet together. MY picked CY up later than usual, and the babysitter was in no way confused.

Did you also know the day before was 77 degrees out in Raleigh, CY could have been outside for a period of time...

She could have gave Mr. G a drink from the hose, for all we know.

We don't know...

SS and MY had made plans the week(s) prior to watch GA that nite.

I was surprised when the daycare worker/babysitter said MY invited her too, because SS made it sound like this was supposed to be just her and Michelle's nite together, because they had not seen each other for awhile and were going to catch up and watch their show ..

One of the other reasons was that Jason was to be out of town.

We also can't forget how scared SS was that nite, that she felt someone was watching them, so much so, that she asked MY to walk her outside to her car.

Shaad "felt someone was watching them" - don't remember hearing specifically that she felt someone was watching them.....what day was her testimony?

ETA: found it - it was day 3. Will have to watch later.

The chances of calling CY are next to none.

Jason would never allow it, for one thing.

Agreed 100%. I doubt MF or LF would allow it either. Bless that poor child, I can't imagine what it would be like to be put on the stand during your parents' trial.

Agree!

All the times she referenced him during the time of the murder, it's possible she might do it again!*

*I realize you might see another reason. :innocent:

On another board someone was bringing up the trip back to Raleigh from Brevard the day of (after) the murder. They couldn't believe they stopped at Applebee's. That had never really sunk into me! Seriously! OMG! "Jason Young your wife has just been murdered in your home and your toddler daughter was with her dead body for hours, what are YOU going to do?" "I'ma head to Applebee's for one of them $14.99 3 course combos! Ding-dang, y'all!" Seriously shaking my head...

Too bad there wasn't a Disney park along the route or we might have heard the response "I'm going to Disney World!" Dude sure is a piece of work.

Omg, they did not eat at Applebee's!!!

They pulled in the parking lot there to regroup right near MF's house, and so that Heather could get the number to a lawyer..

Please listen to her testimony, they never ate there, they were all in shock trying to figure out what to do.

This was after Ryan Schaad calling Jason telling him to get an attorney.

If they had went inside or eaten anything there, the Pros would have brought it in as callous behavior or something.

The only stop they made was in Burlington, NC for gas and they may have got some crackers.....
I just remember some cracker wrappers the defense mentioned.

Why would anyone think they actually ate there?

As a general rule, would a defense attorney NOT ask their client whether they committed the offense or not? I am not sure how criminal defense attorneys operate (read: look at themselves in the mirror) but maybe they can justify what they do by saying they didn't really know bc they didn't ask? How else could someone defend a wife/baby killer, child rapist, or any of the other sickos out there that get arrested?

I thought he stopped at Applebees before going to Merediths after he realized that he should lawyer up. It sounded to me like they thought he might be confronted by the police while at Merediths and wanted to figure out how to handle that.
