I missed a lot of this....did they mention a lamp at all?

10" inch error in height would be too much for me to overlook.

But that is not what she said in the first 3 (IIRC) interviews. She said 'tall, blond hair'. I think she was just flustered about height in court... she should have just stuck with 'tall'.

I will say that IMO, questioning the credibility of this mornings witness, Gracie, borders on 'unreasonable doubt'. Three days after the murder, the young lady stated 'he was tall, light haired'. She also stated he was driving a white SUV, and described the transaction for which she had a receipt. All without knowing *why* this person was wanted, what he was wanted for, who he was, etc. To denigrade her testimony five years later by locking her into the ridiculous 5'2" statement, I personally find unreasonable and totally misleading. MOO

We know that police came to her and showed her a picture of Jason, asking if she had seen him. What else did they say? Did they ask whether she'd seen a white SUV?

JTF, could you clarify the 5'2 statement for everyone? I am not sure she said that. Thanks, I appreciate it

I put far more weight on her description of "tall" within months of the encounter vs what she said 4 1/2 years later.

She never forgot that ugly face of JLY.

I think I posted that...it was never said by the witness.
She said "a little taller"

I am NOT very computer literate, but I was looking at an aireal (sp?) shot of the Young residence and I didn't see any sort of 'trailer park' behind them? What is with that?

On 5-30-07, Spivey interviewed her for 3rd time. She was still not aware of the murder and had not seen any news accounts in media. At this time, she gave Spivey more details of the exact time of 5:26, as she had cash register records of the $20 cash and only $15 pumped...another unusual circumstance about the encounter that made her remember. She saw the white SUV leave and said he drove around behind the McDonalds, instead of straight out of the parking lot (perhaps to hide license tag from her view?).
She said he was "tall, blondish hair and wore blue jeans". She also volunteered she had a drug problem in the past , but was clean and sober for some time before 11/06...required to take random drug tests and always passed.

All that I can recall is that Galloway said there was blood splatter on the lamp and the lampshade.

Not as bad as it sounds or looks from the aerial.
They are standard, wooded lots with some pre-fab type or double wides.
I drove back there and it is not a 'trailer park'
Typical rural wake county. The Young's neighborhood is an example of urban sprawl.

I concur JTF. I went back there around 3pm on a Monday afternoon, I believe and lots of double wides/modulars on nice lots. Appeared like everyone was still at their jobs/working. So unlike the trailer parks in my area where basically people are hanging out on the porches and yards 24/7.

You can see some trailers directly behind their house (through the woods) where Silvers and Arrowhead Ln intersect.

No that wasn't directed at you. I was merely pointing out the continual usage of 5'2" or just over five feet tall is ridiculous IMO. I believe it was otto who read those comments and then posted 'gracie's testimony was worthless' words to that effect. Continuing to put forth a mis-stating of testimony causes people to take it for fact. Much like the 'no footprints in the snow around the Ramsey house', when there was no snow on any of the sidewalks around the Ramsey house to begin with. When it comes to cases like this, any little rumor or innuendo becomes fact after it's repeated a couple times IMO. MOO MOO MOO

Yes, I'm saying that if an eyewitness testimony includes a factual error of misjudging a person's height by 1 foot, then I don't think that testimony will be significant in jury deliberations. I base this opinion on very little - but it is based on the fact that so many people quickly discredited and ridiculed an eye witness testimony in the Cooper trial even though the witness testimony accurately described the victim.

It's behind the house and across the field ... beyond the trees.

I also drove around back there and agree it is not a trailer park. Most manufactured homes there on well tended lots. The area between the Young home and that area is heavily wooded and very steep hill with ditch between.

Nice to see you!
When we hear the NY Times delivery testimony about the light colored SUV in the driveway, the intruder that wondered in from the trailer park will be a moot point.
