I just can't imagine why size 10 Franklin shoes (mens design) would be in the house.
It is not reasonable (for me) to think he brought them with the intention of throwing off the detectives.

Hmmm -- I have thought all along that that's exactly what he did. He went to Dollar Gen & bought the cheapest size 10 that would be appropriate, knowing he would throw them away. But the single un-id'd hair gives me pause...

What if he wore the Franklins during the crime, stepped in the blood then after he changed into his regular clothes, time was ticking....maybe that's when cass woke up...then he realized he needed to set the robbery stage (remove Michelle's rings) and he stepped in blood again and had to leave quickly.

If he came in with the size 10 shoes, where are the leather shoes he was seen leaving the HI? No shoes were found in his luggage.

Again, if he was smart enough to throw off the cops with small shoes, would he be dumb enough to leave his size 12 shoe prints in plain view on a pillow?

Well I thought that was rather rude of the defense attorney.

Perhaps, in the middle of the night, in a messy room, and with the baby to care for, he didn't notice/see the print on the pillow? He wasn't planning on this murder to have been so hard. He didn't forsee Michelle to be such a *fighter*. MOO He didn't anticipate waking the baby. Things got out of hand. If there had been a second person there, I would think the actual killing would have been easier?

The NY times guy said the whole house was lit up at 4AM...he thought they were having a party.

Tough guy cop....Pat Young hates this guy

All i'm saying is, I would possibly concede the possibility of an accomplice.
That would sure make it easier for the jury.

Or to get Cassidy away from her mom when he came back...he was probably carrying Cassidy out of the room to the bathroom and didn't notice.

The whole house might have had lights on, seen from the outside, but does your master bedroom have *bright* lights in it? Mine doesn't. The bedside lamps are bright enough to read by, but the actual direct light isn't reflected around the room. The lamp on the dresser again, isn't a bright light. It's an antique, bent glass shade lamp from my grandma, and it has either two 40 watt or 2 60 watt light bulbs in it. If we are hunting something down after dark, hubby uses his mag light.

That figures, when I first saw him take the stand I thought "I'm going to like this guy." :waitasec:

Good question.

Do we know that the "HI shoes" were the same type as the ones at the scene? I wish we knew what shoes he wore to the meeting.

I think he threw away all of the shoes worn at the scene -- before or after his meeting -- and packed only one pair, knowing the others would be tossed.

Could he have found a hair in his hotel bathroom? That would indeed be tedious planning, huh? (Still thinkin' on that one...)

bordem, we only know he was wearing leather shoes at the HI.
What he was wearing with his business attire later that day has never been confirmed.
All we know is the HP shoes were not in the home or in Brevard when they searched 2/08.

Did I just hear JLY bought these shoes on the day this photo was taken at the CCBI office?
(4 days after the murder).

Yes that is correct. He bought them on 11-7-06.

Yes, it helps the events make more sense.

Rut-roh -- JS asking jury to leave for a bit....Oh, dear, what can the matter be???

State 91 11-7-2006 Clark's Phantom size 12 he was wearing those at the NTO on the 7th.

Regarding the single hair... is it out of the realm of possibility that Michelle could have picked up a hair on her clothing at any time prior to her murder, and as she was getting undressed, perhaps removing jewelry one night, it fell off onto that picture frame? A single unidentified hair in the bedroom doesn't concern me too much.
