Yes, I think this family was quite patriarchal -- in that males were considered superior, and their actions, for the most part, were admired and encouraged.

I think this is about the time his social development stopped. (I say this in all seriousness). His social maturity is stunted and he's been able to get away with it in a lot of situations, but his employment history shows this lack (as he gets older, this silliness really hurts him professionally, and I don't think he realizes it) and his actions in his relationships with MY, LF, and so many others etc., show it as well. JMO.

In a way, we can see a direct correlation between the way that he treated his sisters (making them very angry) and the way he continued to treat women after he left home. If the adults in his life thought it was funny when he tormented his sisters (we are hearing that his mother thought it was funny), he had no reason not to continue teasing and become even more aggravating to those around him. I suppose it's possible that Jason was spoiled and got away with pretty much whatever he wanted to do, regardless of how it impacted those around him.

Totally agree. I don't think any man, any loving husband, upon hearing his wife has been murdered, would demand a lawyer before even attempting to assist the police in finding the person who committed this horrible crime. MOO Any man who is innocent, that is.

I'm not sure she was far enough along to show the "baby bump" when the "car accident" in the Mitz SUV happened, Otto.

I probably would be thinking about it -- that's what so many spouses do -- but since this is considered a homicide, I would at least go through the house with them to point out anything missing or odd about the premises -- I mean dayam, somebody murdered my spouse. Of course I would go there to see WTH happened. Is that unreasonable?

There is no way the LEOs can determine if a motive was robbery -- which is often what precedes a homicide (unless it is drugs) -- especially since they found valuables in plain sight.

If the tenor of the conversation turned accusatory, I hope I would shut my mouth and indicate I was going to obtain counsel. But that is also assuming that I have NO IDEA what happened at my house.

You know if this happened to me, my first reaction would be my children..I would have to get to them asap. I wouldn't be able to wait around for my entourage. I can't believe, if he were innocent, he didn't get on the first plane out of Asheville to fly home. Being on a Friday, there had to have been plenty of flights...I wonder if they even searched for one?

I agree, traveler. I would have gone immediately, checked on my child, and then dealt with the lawyering up later if needed. I doubt they thought about a plane, and I do not hold that against him. In the end, he did go see his daughter but refused to be helpful to the LE until he had his attorney.

That was very telling Zamboni. Like Pat was thinking the only reason he would marry her was because she was pregnant. A sure sign that in her subconscious, she didn't see them as a "likely" pair at all.

IMO, it's the haste that troubles most of us. I personally don't believe PY's statment that the police said to her on the phone 'well he better be' when asked if Jason was returning with them. I just don't buy it. It doesn't at all sound like something LE would ever do.

I have a lot of respect for LE, and I think they are good people who work hard. However, I have observed one or two individuals being not-so-polite, and LF also alluded to that (some of the officers on the scene weren't being completely polite.) They wanted to talk with him ASAP, and I'm sure they were concerned if not downright annoyed with the delay in his return, so I find this quite credible.

I have no problem at all with him not answering questions without a lawyer. But, if he's innocent, then there's no reason at all that he should have been completely uncooperative in every way.
