LOL...I posted the what I believe to be the woman photo on my facebook wall and asking my friends if they believe it's a woman or man. Many are totally clueless about this case so I thought it would be interesting. So far, I got one response. Woman.

Still early....hopefully I get more replies.

Are you talking about the picture of the older woman doll CY used in her play acting?

If so, I think it would be more telling to have some toddlers answer that question. I bet they wouldn't have a clue and you'd get a variety of answers.

Adults are going to study the picture and give the correct answer and then some are likely going to say it's a woman but not a very feminine one or things like that, IMO.

Not sure if this has been discussed regarding JY's cell phone and being powered off from 11:30-7:30. Did he normally power it off? Can the state check on this? Why would he turn his phone off when he has a pregnant wife - what if there is an emergency? I'm sure he'd say she could call the hotel of course, but don't most people just charge their phone at night w/out turning it off? Did he have a pattern of talking on the phone late at night - all the time except this night?

It was discussed. Another piece of the puzzle. Some thought it was suspect, others thought he needed a good night's sleep and turned it off.

I'll give this one a A+ as incriminating evidence against him. No man I know would leave their cell phones off when they have a pregnant wife and a 2 year old at home.

Regarding the foot - last year I was training really hard for a marathon and I eventually had 5 toenails fall off (I know, gross). They looked like that before they came off (purple) and I had blisters. I haven't heard he was a hard core runner, but it could be a sports injury.

I can't imagine he'd do that much damage wearing a small shoe for a short period of time.

I believe he played softball and basketball. MF testified that at some point he was on two teams for each sport and MY had asked him to cut back some.

I've said several times those feet injuries could likely be from sports. I've seen many a foot in that neglectful state from athletics.

IMO

I don't believe it was technically possible at that time to determine for sure that the phone was off. There was 0 activity during that time period. No incoming/outgoing calls or texts.

No I'm talking about this picture. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s216/alive695/hoteldark.jpg

I'm over the doll. I think CY took whatever was available to her that had human features. The scrub one, if the one posted by otto is the one, then I could understand why she wouldn't take that one. It's a doctor.

How could they not determine if it was on or off? What about pings? Don't cellphones usually ping when on?

Ahh, ok. Well that picture is so grainy to me I can't tell who it is (other than it does look like a male to me but other than that ????)

So the videos show that he changed clothing in 33 seconds? Is that the consensus here?

No that is not the consensus. Different cameras, different lighting. Look at the chest stripe. It's in both pictures. It's the same sweater. Common sense.

That 'older woman' doll can easily be seen as male. In fact that's exactly what I thought it was at first. Short hair, no makeup, no curves, track suit, taller than the 'mommy doll.' Androgynous.

A toddler would not see this as feminine compared to the one that obviously was feminine (ponytail, red lips, purse over shoulder).

Finally figured it out. Those are FINGERS! 4 fingers.

This figure is male. Tall.

Here you go JTF: http://www.wral.com/weather/page/9748768/

But, the chances of that actually happening are slim. But boy would I like a day off. And yes, today's game was disappointing. Although I can't believe Karl Hess kicked Gulgiotta and Corchiani out of the RBC Center.

O/T - :what: Bad man kicked Gugs and Fire outta there -- insult added to injury -- yes, Fax, W'pack --

Yep, I see a tall male too. I also think you may have nailed it on fingers, good sleuthing.

JTF mentioned they might not capture any pings if he didn't move and didn't use it, or of course if it was turned off. I think if the DA did not ask about this during the cell phone expert testimony, and neither did the defense, it must be the case there is nothing there to be known.

IMO, if one could possibly think that using that Elton John grandma figure instead of a doctor is an indication by CY that the attacker was a female, then it should be impossible to ignore that she clearly said the word "Daddy" (followed by argument over what she said next) after being asked what happened to mommy.

IMO, the defense can get away with saying grandma doll, but if they go too far with the day care worker talking about other dolls alluding to the grandma doll as being some kind of identifier of the attacker (rather than just CY's having been at the scene) they open the door for the DA to rebut with everything they've got, possibly including recalling MF to discuss more particularly what she heard from CY during the call and playing it again, maybe even playing parts that were deleted.

If I understand the DA has some limits on using CY's statements (and actions) as identifying the attacker (not sure if that's why 911 call has been in some ways limited), and the defense will have to decide if it is worth opening that door from what they have to gain by arguing that the grandma Elton was chosen so as not to represent her dad, who could only have been represented by doctor otherwise.

They will call the doll a female figure, a grandma, etc., and for good reason for their purposes, but getting into comparing other dolls equals identity evidence. The judge might not let them do it either, but I think he'd give them greater leeway than the DA on this, but once the door is open the DA can walk through too.

Can you elaborate. The times showing whether it was different cameras, different lighting remains the same.

Agreed. The defense has to be very careful how much emphasis they place on the physical appearance of the doll, or they will open the door to identity. What they can do, is neglect to refer to it as anything other than the "attacking doll" and pass it around for the jury to conclude it is a grandmotherly figure.

I personally don't hear "Daddy did it" in the audio. But I don't have children, and I have a very hard time discerning anything CY is saying in the background. The only words I could affirmatively make out from CY were washcloth, and boo boo. That's it. I also don't think the choice in doll points for, or against JY in any way.

Silly me. I thought you were referring to the dolls otto had posted with the bangles on its wrist! Yes, those are clearly fingers. I think there is a ring on the third finger, which makes me think he is closing the door by reaching back with his left hand, but that would be an awkward pose to close a door I think.

The only doctor doll that comes in scrubs I can find that is in that approximate size range from 2006 is a Ken doll, doctor doll and it has very long curly blonde hair. There are earlier dolls with brown hair (mostly from the mid 1990s) that have the plastic hair and would not be similar to JY at all. They almost have the appearance of not being caucasian. I am basing my search on what the lady said: Scrubs, doctor, male, doll. Assuming it's somewhere in the 2002-2006 range time-wise.

Anything else I've come across seems to be a little too cartoony or stuffed animal like.

Can you find the granny doll shown? I tried for quite a while and could not.

moot point? Really? Most of their forensic evidence is about shoe prints and size of shoe and they consider his blisters a moot point? Yikes

Apparently so.
Did you hear the testimony?
