Thanks for 911 link otto. So the jury did get to hear it all!! That settles that confusion.

Given the size of the timestamp numbers on the dark pullover image, it looks like it was magnified and cropped, so perhaps the resolution is b/c he was farther from the camera, in addition to whatever was done to the image. Also perhaps the lens wasn't clean or something to cause it to have poorer focus.

It has been zoomed and cropped ... true ... but it has been enlarged in such as way that the pixel quality is lost ... I don't think it's possible to restore the information. Simply enlarging an image automatically destroys pixel quality. It is possible to enlarge images and preserve quality, but it has to be done carefully ... it doesn't look like that was done in the hallway photo. It also appears to me that the light was distorted ... so we have light modifications on distorted pixels - that's my take on the image.

I was going to post something like that as well. I would not have been shocked in the least to find out a woman did it all by herself.

Agreed a woman is capable of horrific murder, but to me the fact that some of MY's hair was found detached from her head is not an indication of that due to the nature of the beating and strangulation. Anyway, a man could pull hair as easily as a woman during a struggle, if that had been the case.

Agreed. 12 people may debate it.

I don't see why they would if the defense did not object to that photo being introduced into evidence as being JY.

Did they object to that?

If they did not and the jury debates it, then I'd have to scratch my head wondering why they would do that.

Is the defense scrambling this weekend to overcome the day care worker's testimony? Did they see this coming?

Of course the defense knew about this. They are entitled to complete discovery of every bit of evidence the prosecution has, otherwise it's a discovery violation, and the judge may decide to throw out the evidence. However, they probably are working this weekend on tactics to make their points within the Judge's ruling and minimize damage tactfully.

Me either.

Or, and I don't want to get too graphic here, the hair could have been pulled forcefully from her head by the weapon used, regardless of the gender of the person wielding that weapon.

I think since the judge will allow only that which supports showing CY saw the assault, it is not so bad. Heartbreaking, but by itself not the end of things. In fact, I imagine they are deciding how far to go with the grandma doll angle, similar to the debate being had here. OTOH, we won't know how far the ADA will push it either until the worker actually comes on the stand. It will be very interesting. Should have been, for better or worse, done in the first trial as well.

An extremely good point.

Not sure I understand what you're saying. You posted that we can debate the picture till the cows come home and have 10 different opinions. I'm just agreeing that yes perhaps the jury will debate it also depending on what each one of them sees in the photo, if relevant, of course or if it's even something they want to discuss.

I've seen tall women. How can you see a masculine build when the door is hiding the body?

Just so there is no confusion. This is the picture I'm talking about.

I added a white line where I believe the arm is ...

Could be. Has a theory been presented by the prosecution as to how a clump of hair got underneath her body?

What I am saying is that Gritguy pointed out to us that why are we questioning this photo if the defense did not question it.

By the defense not questioning it is him, are they not admitting it is?

If so and they did not object to the photo, then there is no debate to be had.

IMO

Otto, what you have referenced is the first time we hear it. The second time would have been when the 911 caller was making a call to another dispatcher and this version goes silent for the seconds where the original call had CY again saying daddy did it.

I will say your link is worth looking back to that7:51 mark and watch the body language of DT and JY as this part is played. I see a lot of uncomfortable bodies trying to look casual.

Also just adding my two cents. When MF says "C, sweetie did you see what happened? Did Mommy fall?"
I hear CY say, "Daddy do it" not DID but that's my ears and I have 5 young grandbabies and am used to interpreting toddler talk.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe so they've gotten into it. I also don't think they need to. It's her hair, under her body, in the commission of a violent murder. I don't see the significance of anything further than that. What do you read into it?

Oh I don't know if they did or not nor do I know what the cross was on the pictures. When I have time, I'll review it. I don't have 24/7 to devote to this trial, unfortunately. RL gets in the way.

Making the attacker of MY into a female is, IMHO, one of those stretches that defies logic and common sense and ignores all the other evidence that points only to a male. Start with the shoe prints in blood.

Arguing for a female attacker is being contrary and oppositional when there is no evidence supporting it.

You still have to explain all the HI hijinks the same night that MY's skull is bashed in. Those propped doors, tampered cameras, missing sweater, missing shoes do not suddenly go away when a woman as killer is alleged.

I'd imagine the same way numerous of her teeth came flying out or broken off. By having her face and head beat to a bloody pulp. I recall when this first happened, hearing a friend who is a member of LE in that area, say it was the worst beating they had ever seen.
