No worry......I will be ready Tuesday evening no matter what.
Sad time for you all and I want you to know I am there right with you!!!
Hi Sunday
Dingo, could be right, it may only be 14 hours for where you are.
I'm going by roughly 15 hours ahead in Detroit and Chicago, but you are in a different state so that might not be quite right...
Anyway, so glad you can join us :)

Dingo,
I want to thank-you so much for the video.
I also want to thank, you,Narlacat,Scandi and all of the posters on this thread for all of the positive posts about Steve.
I am very ashamed about the feelings that I first had about Steve.
My son has always been a faithful fan of Steve.
When Steve's show would come on,I would sit and watch the show as a family time "know your loved ones favorite comfort shows".For my son,Steve was his comfort show.(we take the time to watch each others shows together)
So while watching my son's show,I would heckle Steve and laugh out loud when he was bitten. My son would give me the evil eye. When it came time to watch my favorite shows together with him,he would not say a word or make fun of what I was watching.Even though I expected him to do that.
It was not until I came onto the threads here on this website and see the posts that I changed my mindset of Steve.Posts by you Dingo,Narlacat and others on the thread changed my mind.It lead me to watch Animal Planet with the tribute and the explaination by Steve about his son Bob.My son tried to tell me that the "Bob" incident was not as it appeared.I did not take the time to check it out on the web.I blew it off.
It was not until I saw the hearts on this site speaking about Steve that lead me to check it out.
I want to thank all of you here for posting your heartfelt posts that lead me to change my mind.
Although I am in the doghouse with my son for my actions while watching his favorite show,I want to thank you Dingo and all for leading me to the true human that Steve really was.It is just sad for me that I had to apprecitate this man after his death.....
Respectfully,

Dark Shadows

I'm so glad you found out just what Steve Irwin was about :)
He was about saving our planet.
He bought up land all around the world, just so noone could touch it, to ensure it will be around for future generations.
He was cool.

Scandi did nothing but bag him about the Bob incident, I don't recall her saying anything positive.

Hey dark_shadows: what's the best is you overcame your prejudice and see Irwin as the really, really good guy he was.

i still have tears about his passing.

but your post was lovely.

now to get significant other to feel the way you do . . . because he is still being wretched about Steve. :slap:

i so hope his memorial service is broadcast here in Germany when the time comes - but if not, i know i will be able to rely on youtube. :woohoo:

She did Dark, but she didn't retract her comments regarding Steve and Bob.
What she said was, she shouldn't have said what she said at this time.
I dont really care what she thinks but I'm not letting her get praise where it's not warranted.

I will flick the "telly" on ( Oh I love that word and it is so Aussie, sooooo cute)

And......I......just know it will be sad. Quiet......yes. I always heard it was still, and quiet after President Kennedy died too. Very quiet for a week or more.
Both of you were so sweet to help me come up with the time....thanks.
I could teach you a few more cute Aussie words.:D ..but I wont...

And John Williamson will be appearing at Steve's memorial, yes?

yes, of course it's time to stop crying, but i tell you: i did NOT cry about Diana (altho Steve's passing for a country has been likened to Diana's passing to a nation - even though i am British, i didn't), but, i did and have and will keep crying (and celebrating) about Steve.

***

darn it: do you think Steve would have prefered to have been taken by a croc?

(i'm still steamed about the horrids who are killing stingrays - Steve would not have wanted it.)

'Keep Australia Beautiful' is quite something too. :)

Australia is so unappreciated in the wider world. i'm lucky enough to have made a visit. i wonder if i will ever be lucky again.
