Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, Is Dead

  • #821
they look like actual photos taken....just 3, that somehow the NE got hold of, but the scenario (outline for a series of events, real or imagined) for the pics is from 'sources' that saw the actual footage...

next time your at the grocery checkout, take a quick look & see what you think....the newest issue, October 2nd...(if you're curious, that is)
...it doesn't show him being stabbed, bleeding, dying, or anything like that...basically him underwater hovering/around the stingray that killed him...

I know they sure do look like actual photos........
I wish I didn't even have this NE here with me but I do.......
I felt so much better thinking they were the artist rendering.......actually close -enough, there is that last one with the barb as he is sitting.
Somehow I was relieved when reading they weren't real photos........
It also says "artists recreation based on eyewitness accounts "
I know they sure do look real.........too sad. ( don't see any small print of a disclaimer at all anywhere)

So I get this right, someone is recreating Steve's death in creating pictures or paintings?
Why in the world would anyone do that?
Let the man rest in peace and his family.....
This is sick stuff Pharlap....especially so soon after Steves death.
The video footage was in the hands of the Queensland police...and I believe Animal Planet have the rights to it........hope they destroy it or at least delete the attack.

Well I'm glad you posted about this because it caused me to go back and look and that's when I noticed the fine print. Makes me wonder what the heck they're doing. Was this some sort of a disclaimer? I dunno. I've always been skeptical with what I read in these tabloids but I figured even though pictures sometimes are out of date etc., they were still the real deal. Geez, does this mean that OJs ugly a$$ shoes were not ligit?lol.

No Close Enough......you didn't upset me at all.....I got "myownself" ( just a little pun word we use around here) upset.
I .....have the paper right here. They certainly look awfully real to me too.
I don't get mad at anyone...........
As long as I stay out of the PP.......because......that is just too much for my flag waving, patriotic, being.

Like Dingo said, I hope the powers that be delete Steve's death, who wants to see someone die?

I picked up that issue of the NE or whatever it was last week while in line at the grocery store, & of course, flipped through it til I found the article of Steve Irwin's last moments. I saw the pictures, then read the caption: "artist rendering" I have to say at that moment I felt really ashamed of myself for looking, & I wonder why I did in the first place.

As an artist, would you put something like that on your resume? Last position held: Created images of Croc Hunter being speared by stingray for tabloid newspaper.

OMG. they better not show it..I will give them a word or 2 and never watch that station again.
Inless Statin(hope I spelled his name right) has a contract with them, that hasn't run out yet.

Thought I saw (maybe it was Barb W or Larry King that asked him) Statin answering a question about that and that he had the tape...
This was 2 days ago......Anyone see that?

Exactly, so well put, why would you want to be a part of something, so disgusting?

We do not get the NE here, thank goodness.

Don't feel ashamed, I would have looked as well. I too, have been flicking through all our gossip mags at the checkout line and some of the stuff they report is just utter BS. :)

I know it Close........over the years they have been right a lot. I wonder the percentage. But, many times when someone laughed at a story in that magazine......darn if it didn't come about, or within a short time happen. They are ahead of the game quite often.

Hi Guys,

I about fainted again today - which would have been twice in one day! LOL - but checking out at the grocery store I glanced over at the NE and was going to buy it and then said no to that, but the headline is that they are going to exhume his body.

The reason I saw given was he suffered a head injury before he went into the water. Then I had to stop reading, so didn't get the rest.

yikes!!...i find that hard to believe..why would he be exhumed, just to find out if he died of a head injury????...that's not foul play or anything...

i won't get this issue until Tuesday....sometimes it arrives on Monday, but as a rule, it's on Tuesdays....

got the new NE today....this is so silly, IMO....

apparently "Australian officials are concerned about whether Irwin was affected by a head injury he suffered shortly before he died"...later in the article it says "Irwin suffered a significant bump on his head days prior to his death..."
......the only thing i can figure from reading this article is .... Steve knew better than to pull the barb out of his chest, sooooo since he did, it seems they're wondering if the "bump on the head" caused him to not think rationally?????.....his body won't be exhumed, IMO.. there were no quotes from Terri, relating to this article...this is some "official" that's leaked conversations about Irwin's death, to the NE for $.....IMO, it's stupid to even think his body would be exhumed, for this reason...if that were the case, bodies would be exhumed left & right, all the time...."oh wait, she hit her head on the cabinet, so that might be the reason she forgot to take her meds, so let's exhume her body & see how bad the head 'injury' was".... just pure craziness....

there are 3 "never-before-seen photos" in the NE, of Steve in the water, hovering over the 220 lb bull stingray....one shows Steve approaching the stingray/hovering over it, one shows him starting to swim past/over the stingray, & the other shows Steve grabbing the barb in his chest...(not pulling it out, just shows his hand on it)

ETA...the pics do NOT show the stingray 'stabbing' Steve....
Hi Close_enough,:)
The article says that they are an artists images of what would have happened.
Even though they do look real.
Respectfully,
