I would say you were right if I actually thought I knew what they were thinking. The thing is, I don't have a clue.

Reason # 43910 why I'm still :fence:

Well, in my humble opinion, if LE IS sitting on any knowledge and keeping mum, the reason is that are hoping for enough evidence to arrest MR. I say this because I have difficulty imagining so much silence if they felt the perp was anyone else. But...JMO.

My believing this is not saying that I am convinced he is guilty...but I do believe he is the one and only POI.

The big thing for the teen/tweens right now is TBH. They post TBH, someone likes and/or comments, and the OP writes how they honestly feel about that person. OT, but just thought I'd share.

I use TBH when I am preparing to give someone a negative opinion, or that is in opposition to what they think. If my mother colors her hair, and I think it's hideous, my first response is, "To be honest, I think that color makes you look pastey."

I am curious how they found his texting account on his Ipod touch and did they cover all texting accounts on it? How would they figure that out? There are several texting apps available on iTunes. If the iPod was not recovered, how do they know if he only has one, or two, or three?

I am trying to catch up, it's been a busy day but there were a few things I wanted to comment on earlier that I just didn't have the time to do. The iPods, three, left there over time by Dylan? Did I see that right? My show cut out around that time for a second so I missed some of that. The first thought that came to my mind is that if Dylan left all three iPods, that he borrowed from someone else, over at MR's house, is "irresponsible." If Dylan is this "irresponsible" to leave someone else's iPod at someone else's house, then how I am suppose to be convinced that he took both his iPod charger and phone charger with him?

The other thing I wanted to say, is I keep seeing people speaking about the jabs that MR makes at ER and CR, but why is it that they are given a pass for the jabs they make at him? Are they all not "grieving victims" right now? I really do not understand this. ER speaks out in frustration about Dylan being missing, but not only is MR having to cope with Dylan being missing, he is also having to cope with being accused of doing something to Dylan, having people threatening him online, people taking pictures of him at his home, and frankly I believe he is completely isolated within his community. Tricia, you asked a question about MR taking someone on a search with him and my first response was, "Who? Who is he suppose to take with him, when it seems everyone in the community hates him?"

:goodpost:

IIRC, when talking about the pipe by the washing machine, he was under the impression it was actually a pipe for like plumbing. Tricia put it into his head about it being a pipe possibly used for partaking. Again, that's my initial memory. I have not gone back and listened again, so I'm sure someone will correct me if I am mistaken.

The way to check out impressions and or whether or not someone is lying is to look for outside verification. In the case of arguments around and about texting, we would have to ask law enforcement if this was a focal point in their interviews with MR. I don't expect them to ever answer that, to tell you the truth. (notice use of an honesty qualifier) But it only makes sense that ever bit of MR's last interactions with his son were questioned over and over and over again. To the point of feeling like an argument. The impression that Dylan and Mark argued that evening are unsupported by any circumstance.

BBM

I think the idea that they argued is supported by circumstance. He answered his moms text with an unhappy emoticon. Dylan texted R and told him he could not come over, and answered why, by saying ' I don't Know.' And his picture taken in Walmart looked like he was very sullen, and not at all happy. Then he suddenly quits using his cell and is texting from his i-pod, for some unknown reason. Then is apparently never heard from again.

Mark still hasn't explained where did they toss the Nerf football, for how long etc. If you remember in the lst or 2nd interview, he mentioned when they came home they toss around the football & went to bed IIRC. It was only later football was out (not mentioned) & that they watched "Adventureland". To further add confusion, on the SW (he produced) a totally different movie was seized "Role Model".

Was that asked on the radio show?

He hasn't explained to us, but I'm sure LE's on top of it.

I totally respect your opinion.

I agree with you on this. Neither Tricia nor Mark seemed as intimately familiar with the search warrants as some of us are. It was clear to me that the item seized was a swab from a pipe. MR thought they meant the drain pipe too until Tricia made it seem like an actual pipe was taken. Given that question, Mark talked about a different kind of pipe. I think that MR gave an unpracticed and unintentional glimpse into an area no one meant to venture towards.

I think it was asked what kind of pipe it was with some "examples" IIRC. I do believe that one was thrown in there, but here is the thing, you want MR to be honest, well, TBH here, if he suspects a type of drug paraphernalia to belong to Cory, then it's the only answer he really could give here. "If they found something like that, the only thing I could think of is Cory is known to come here and party from time to time." (Not sure if that is the exact quote, but I believe it went something like that.)

This is an interesting article about the use of pronouns written by the chairperson of the Psychology Dept at the University of Texas.

Can you tell if someone’s lying by their use of function words?

Mark uses "I" when speaking for himself and uses "we" in referencing both himself and EH about finding Dylan. He also has said more than once, that he would never harm Dylan.

BIU by me, I have to disagree with this statement. When asked who was the "we" at the airport MR said it was just him. He uses "we" when talking about himself.

Interesting read, thanks.

More accurately, he used "we" when talking about the airport. That's one instance. I was referring to the radio show where he used "I" for him and "we" for himself and EH as Dylan's parents.

IMO< He was just looking for the chance to needlessly throw Cory under the bus. And he was pleased with himself over getting that jab in.

Listen to the tone and feeling in Mark's voice during his entire presentation last night. Did anyone hear any grief or sorrow? Because I didn't. I heard self satisfaction leaking through. JMO

Noteworthy to me was how his voice softened when he was talking about Dylan.

I wish I could recount how many times I have meant to send someone a happy face and accidentally sent them a sad face and vice versa. For all we know that could have been a "text typo" because right after that he sent a weird type of smiley.

How exactly was he looking for that? Did he know the pipe was going to be thought of as a bong?

You think he meant to send his mom a happy face about him being with his dad?

He seized the opportunity when the pipe was mentioned as possibly being for smoking--he instantaneously accused his son of leaving it there---when it obviously was not the case.

Why not? Per Dylan's friends, he loved his dad and they were buddies. He looks happy in the pics of their vacation. Why would I think he'd be sad and/or mad? He may have wanted his mom to think he wasn't too happy about it so as not to hurt her feelings.

I just can't get out of my mind something planned that Dylan was possibly in on to get him out of MR's house. I can't shake it, and it's one of the main reasons I'm still humpty dumptying it. :)

I understand that, there seems to be that one thing that you (in general) can't get past and it makes you (in general) this way or that. For me, I can't get past the no communication from a boy anxious to see his friends and communicating with them throughout the evening (per MR's statements and LE press releases)

What is the part that you can't shake? It seems IMO it's other modes of communication that you believe Dylan may have used. Is that correct?

What are your theories, did someone come pick him up in the middle of the night? If so, why has MR stated that he tried to wake him? Did he pretend (or not) to be asleep and took off after MR left for the morning? If so, how did he leave, plane, train, automobile, on foot? (just kidding about the plane & train) Why wouldn't he have just gotten a ride from MR and then taken off from R's house?

How is that obvious? Maybe CR has left pipes there before. I think it's in MSM that CR had his problems with drugs in the past.
