Leonard and Tony,
I am proud of the way that you have tried to handle this case. It was obvious at the onset that you had worked out a strategy with Mr. Baez in order to assist Casey's bail so she could get out to work on finding Caylee. When you gave your word to "Team Casey", you had an established set of guidelines to follow, put together by you and Mr. Baez. It was apparent that once the bail and bond was set, and Casey was free, the terms of your involvement changed. JB and his group changed the game on you. Casey was not out to coordinate efforts to find her daughter. She was out to build her defense.
Now that Casey has been rearrested, the surety group has put the bond on hold. Leonard and Tony, you have honored your commitments to Team Casey, even when JB changed the terms.
Please do not allow Mr. Baez to bully you into doing something that you do not feel comfortable doing. Mr. Baez does not understand the safety issues at play. He wants Casey out because it is more convenient for him if Casey comes to his office every day as opposed to him going to the jail.
You both, and your team, have been stand up men. You have behaved honorably and with integrity. Yes, you gave your word to Mr. Baez, but it was for another scenario that JB agreed to initially to get you to coordinate the bond. Once the bond was a done deal, JB changed the rules, your roles and your objectives.
YOur entire crew can walk away from this knowing that you tried to put Caylee first. You tried to do what you could to bring Caylee home. You tried to protect Casey and her family.
There are other clients out there that would love to have you guys on their team. A client that would actually work with you in a case like this. Give them your expertise, your sweat, your time, your devotion.
Living in Central FL myself, I want to tell you how sorry I am that you have been treated this way. I'm sorry that you have taken hits from the media, strangers and anyone not working with you. I am sorry that people have tried to manipulate you.
This is America. And you have the right to change your mind, voice your opinions and alter your plans to accommodate your change of mind.
I'm not sure I expressed this the way I wanted too. But, I feel strongly about this.
Again, thank you for everything that you have tried to do. You guys have been true gentlemen. We have been blessed just watching you try to do your job.
Respectfully,
BeagleMom
