She couldn’t drive at the time, someone drove her to the home, someone drove her home if that’s were she ended up that night. Could have spent night at friends home.
I find it odd that she doesn’t remember how she got there or how she got home. Will be interesting to see if her driver surfaces.

Did ppl that went to club to swim always wear bathsuit under clothes? I went to beach, and a swim club at that age and we didn’t do that.

I was assaulted in high school. I clearly remember who it was, do not remember the names of the people who saved me, and I have no idea who drove me home.

Dr. Ford was 15 in summer 1982. K was 17.

According to Mark Judge, the 100 keg club was about drinking 100 kegs of beer in their senior year. K was 17-18 years old in senior year, and legally underage throughout.

Again according to Judge, members of that club (20 or so at most is a rough guess) drank 64 kegs of beer between the end of August 1982 & the end if November 1982. According to K, they almost always drank just on weekends.

I'm not a beer drinker & have never even seen a keg of beer, but my DH did the math, translating keg into ounces of beer consumed, and if Judge's claim is true, they ALL must have drunk excessively, and I wonder where the heck were PARENTS during these months?!

Almost 8,000 16oz beers? Surely my math is faulty - anyone?

This is a different situation. Most alcoholics do not have multiple extensive background checks by experienced investigators.

If this man has an alcohol problem. The checks and balances system is not working.

Who knows if it is? Tens — hundreds — of thousands of documents were kept from the judiciary committee.

Kavanaugh's forte for many years was arguing for the confidentiality of documents, including documents that included his own work.

Kavanaugh is intimately familiar with the issue of White House documents and judicial nominations. In his role at the counsel’s office, he vetted potential nominees and worked on efforts to prevent disclosure of certain documents, citing presidential privilege.

A set of emails, which have been made public and were reviewed by The Post, showed that Kavanaugh and his associates were concerned that whatever they wrote might one day be made public. The email thread of Jan. 3, 2002, began when Kavanaugh noted that he had been “blasted” for his effort to protect presidential records. That prompted another White House official to say, apparently jokingly, that they were “denying historians and generations of American school children important information about their government.”

“Careful,” a second White House official responded in an email that was sent to Kavanaugh. “These e-mails will all be disclosed in 12 years.”

“Not if Brett can help it,” the first White House official responded.

I was told by parents (1976) that anytime I wanted a drink I could, at home.
I have a feeling her yearbook will come out next round. It’s a treat.

Another fyi, toss in fwiw:

There is a lot of flat out untrue info being peddled online about Dr. Ford's yearbook. According to those who actually know what is in it, including her school friends who actually have copies of it, for example, there is only one non-official school photo of her in it, and it is of her dressed up for Halloween as a mother, with a baby doll in her arms. Unless a momma & baby costume can be made into something perverted, I can't imagine how anyone in HS could possibly look more squeeky clean than Dr. Ford.

IMO, it's pretty despicable & gutter level slime to try to invent dirt about her yearbook in order to explain away what K for a fact said about himself in his own.

Plus he has been open and honest about drinking beer in high school and beyond. He certainly hasn't tried to hide anything.

Thank you for clarifying that! My guess is the reason a link hasn't been shared to show otherwise is because they're prohibited on this website. Your explanation makes perfect sense.

I'd bet money he has an alcohol problem.

There are pages of her yearbook on the web - copied before it was scrubbed.

Have you seen it (yearbook) or are you just speculating? Why are you focused on her yearbook and also assuming she will not cooperate with the FBI? What foundation do you have for these assumptions?

“We have her yearbooks,” the anonymous staffer said. “She will not make a good witness.”

Christine Blasey Ford's Senate Judiciary Committee to reference Yearbooks | National Review

In one of the yearbooks, girls wrote about hiring male strippers for sweet sixteen parties and ruining “heirloom Persian rugs” with vomit.

“The tenth grade taught us how to party,” girls wrote in another section. “Loss of consciousness is often an integral part of the party scene.”

In at least the first few FBI investigations, they would have talked to old classmates, neighbors, etc. There has never been a hint of any sexual misconduct.

Committees have closed door meetings. There is no reason Feinstein couldn't have brought up these allegations two months ago, while still maintaining confidentially. All she had to say was "I've received information from Jane Doe alleging a sexual assault when BK was a young man. " The FBI could have investigated just based on that, and could have gotten more truthful answers before it became so politicized that people would say anything to further an agenda. Feinstein sat on these allegations for political reasons only.

CNN And The Hill Spread Retracted Sexual Assault Claim — Without Mentioning It Was Retracted

You had brought up confirmation bias earlier. I find it horrifying that people are so willing to destroy someone's career, family, and life based on an allegation with no contemporaneous supporting evidence. Anyone can say anything about anyone. McCarthyism. People destroyed based on... nothing.

And memories, traumatic or not, are not necessarily accurate.

You Have No Idea What Happened

None of us will EVER know what really happened, or if, indeed, anything at all happened.

A lot of us oppose capital punishment because of the possibility of sentencing an innocent person to death. Yet so many of us are gleefully willing to destroy someone's career, marriage, personal relationships, reputation, someone's life based on an uncollaberated accusation.

What if he didn't do it?

What if it were you? Monday morning, you get to work and are confronted by your boss and HR. Someone you worked with years ago and barely remember has accused you (falsely) of sexual harrassment. They believe the allegations, or at least they are presuming them to be true. After all, you got drunk at the office Christmas party a few times. You are told to go home while they look into the matter. As you leave, your coworkers stare at you and whisper. You get a text from a friend cancelling your dinner plans. Your spouse asks you why you're home in the middle of the day. You can't disprove the allegations, it's impossible to prove a negative. You wouldn't be angry?

As I've said before, there are plenty of reasons to oppose Kavanaugh, but this mess shouldn't be one of them.

Excellent post.

I wish young gals would have watched Dr. Ford on tv, it would go a long way to helping them avoid going to parties to have a "good time".
Seriously? So females are not allowed a life. NO prom, no birthday parties, no socializing, no movies... How about teaching young men not to attack females?

I imagine the investigators will look at both yearbooks so they can look for other close friends to interview.

I haven't seen or looked for her yearbook nor his. I did read it was sent to the Senate and turned over with the rest of the collected material. I am not sure if that was a legitimate site though and may be just rumor.

However I do believe they will investigate the history of both more in depth which is understandable for they are going to try to find anyone who can support her claim or more that can support his testimony.

I think that because Dr Ford's has no corroborating evidence of her assault some are now trying to make Judge Kavanaugh look like a horrible person who is unfit to be on the Supreme Court.

Time to shift gears I suppose. JMO

Skipping everything but your assertion some now are trying to make him look like a horrible person, unfit for the SC....this is presumably after
his ....appearance to defend himself?

More everything aside.

1. Do you agree that judges swear an oath that they will be impartial, and will recuse themselves if there is even an appearance of conflict or impartiality?

2. Do you agree that SC judges are not sworn by oath to remain impartial, in part because the presumption is that they have demonstrated they are above reproach in this and other areas, but that all modern era nominees , including K, have professed their awareness of the need for impartiality & have sworn under oath to Senators that they will be just that?

3. Do you agree that you would have less faith in the ruling by a SC justice if you thought he or she had ruled on the basis of partisanship or an ideological agenda, not on an impartial reading of the law?

4. If you are a "conservative," would you support a democratic nominee for the SC who, under ANY circumstances, during a hearing for the bench, said in any tone of voice, that he believed those opposing him were doing so because of a vast right wing conspiracy to bring him down? And that a previous president or his allies were trying to bring him down out of revenge?

5. Would you believe such a nominee capable of remaining impartial? Would you be so willing to trust in his ability to do so that you would be willing to risk the Court's legitimacy by seating him? Even if another candidate with identical views & no baggage like K's could and WOULD be confirmed?

  • #139
I cannot believe this is the best person that they can come up with as a nominee
