Interesting. He probably thought Fox news had no values when it comes to trashing women.

Nah. I just think he believed what he was saying, and he lost his job for violating company behavior policies.

Here's what delaying Kavanaugh's confirmation vote means politically | Walter Shapiro

Now the FBI has been given the sexually charged case of the “Alleged Prep-School Predator”. The stroke-of-midnight decision to let the bureau investigate Christine Blasey Ford’s charges about the 17-year-old Brett Kavanaugh was an outlandish plot twist that would have embarrassed an alcoholic radio scriptwriter. With Kavanaugh’s nomination about to be rammed through the Senate with a show of partisan Republican muscle, this one-week reprieve was the best the Democrats could have hoped for.

Think of what would have happened if Jeff Flake – the Arizona senator retiring because he is out of place in Donald Trump’s party – had not halted the rush to judgment.
...

Instead, we have the pause that refreshes.

Cable news for the next week will be filled with angry attorneys and glib former prosecutors speculating about what an FBI inquiry will or will not uncover. Since my Junior G Man badge got lost in the mail, I am under no illusion that I can singlehandedly crack the case.

But what a week’s delay does mean politically is that Americans can think about why Ford – with no political agenda and for no financial gain – volunteered for her harrowing day in the Senate spotlight. As for Kavanaugh’s version, it does bring to mind Mandy Rice-Davies 1960s response to a prominent paramour denying an affair, “Well, he would, wouldn’t he?”

Democrats threaten fresh probe if White House interferes in FBI's Brett Kavanaugh investigation

They threatened a fresh Congressional investigation if the Senate and the FBI did not conduct a thorough review of the evidence against the man in line to sit on the country’s highest court.

Mr Trump insisted the FBI had a “free rein” to probe allegations of sexual misconduct.

But senior Democrats pointed to reports that the White House had given the FBI a list of people to be interviewed and that Julie Swetnick, one of Mr Kavanaugh’s accusers, would not be among them.

sounds like a sham to me ... bbm

FBI narrows focus into Kavanaugh investigation

Kavanaugh’s drinking history, which has come up in the allegations, is not part of the probe.
Sounds like a sham to me as well. We already know that so far all of the alleged witnesses/party attendees claim they don't recall the incident in question. If that is the scope of the investigation, then you might as well forget the whole thing now. FBI will just say that they can not confirm the allegations and that will be it.

During Thursday’s hearing, Kavanaugh said, “Mark Judge has provided sworn statement saying this didn’t happen.” That sentence isn’t true. Judge discussed the allegations not in a sworn statement but in a letter from his lawyer. He doesn’t say that the assault didn’t happen but that he had “no memory of the alleged incident.” Judge submitted another signed letter Thursday night repeating the statement.

'Boofing' and 'ralphing' and other doubts about Kavanaugh's testimony

I really think that is nitpicking. No matter how it is spun none of the 4 Dr. Ford said was there has supported her claim ...not even her close friend from high school.

She not only said she didn't attend the party but said she has never even met Brett Kavannah.

Her lawyer said they will meet with the F BI but he said she still has no personal knowledge and the statement given under penalty of felony is all she can tell them.

And I hope you remember past trials and threads we were both on where I made it clear I thought you anything but.

This just seems to be one of those subjects where opinions are most often so deeply held, and based on a solid foundation of other so deeply held opinions, that communicating across the chasm sometimes seems almost impossible.

I asked those questions in good faith. I am trying to understand what objective, factual information IF FOUND, could change a K supporter's mind.

Just on the last point. Evangelical leaders & many hoi ploi evangelicals are on record as saying that they voted for a president they did not like or trust or even think was fit for office, but that they did so because he had promised to only appoint SC justices who would overturn Roe v Wade.

So, no, that dog don't hunt.
Why is it important to you for me to change my mind?

I hope that you stick to your beliefs and have no desire to try and change your mind about this case.

Lindsey Graham promises 'full scale' probe into Democrats' handling of Ford-Kavanaugh allegation

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., vowed Sunday to launch a thorough inquiry into Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee to find out whether there was any wrongdoing in how they managed the sexual misconduct allegation Christine Blasey Ford leveled at Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

"We're going to do a wholesale, full scale investigation of what I think was a despicable process to deter it from happening again," Graham said during an interview on ABC News' "This Week."

"The FBI will do a supplemental background investigation, then I'm going to call for an investigation of what happened in this committee. Who betrayed Dr. Ford's trust? Who in Feinstein's office recommended Katz as a lawyer? Why did Ms. Ford not know that the committee was willing to go to California?" Graham continued, referring to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Debra Katz, one of Ford's attorneys who has been involved in Democratic politics in the past.

Will Lindsey’s “wholesale, full scale investigation” also be arbitrarily limited to one week and limited witnesses?

Who knows.

The terms and time of BK’s investigation were introduced by Flake and agreed upon by the Committee. Trump went with it.

Oh I am sure he would want that one to be very thorough.

devil’s triangle” as a sexual encounter consisting of two men and one woman.

Certainly matches with Judges hopping aboard does it not?

Sure makes sense that he had better not remember any of this -- its a crime and you go to jail for it

moo

In one of Judge's books, he writes that he got black out drunk at a friend's wedding, and woke up remembering nothing at all of the wedding or afterwards. A friend told him that he had acted as drunk as he in fact was, and at some point had "made moves on" one of the bridesmaids.

Judge wrote that the first thing he said upon hearing that was "I hope I didn't hurt her."

Next. Someone writing about K and Judge and black outs and Dr. Ford said she too was a recovering ex- black out drunk. One of the things that hit her hardest in Dr. F's testimony was F's recounting of walking into Safeway and how Judge responded...that his face turned white, that he looked ill even.

This writer said that why Judge's response resonated with her was from experience. About her experiences of blacking out and waking up with no memory, but knowing she might well have done a whole lot of embarrassing or worse things, in front of others, and dreaded finding out or being told what had happened, or just as bad, never being told & never knowing, but having folks drop her without explaining.

She believed Judge was experiencing that dread of the unknown & bad possibilities when he saw Dr. Ford, not that he was remembering what had happened.

Fwiw.

Bbm: economy and world peace are items that effect all people and are variables. Roe v Wade targets and effects one half of the people. Women's rights like civil rights are hard fought battles. The ship on overturning or repealing these landmark rights is not going down without a fight.

Do I think these concerns are an undercurrent in the current SC nomination? Yes, but Kavanaugh presents other concerns as well. And like the saying goes be careful what you wish for.

The midterm elections will reflect how strongly people feel about rights. I think it's going to be a huge turnout.
What does the midterm elections have to do with the confirmation vote and the related investigations? I thought that they are not related and that's why there should be no rush in the investigation or vote. JMO

Good lord guys. We are discussing a nominee for the nations highest court.

SO... i was writing a post . But I got confused and had to go look stuff up again .

I thought i was talking about farting but when i looked it up i realized that I was actually was talking about inserting a rubber hose up ones tushie to have a cocktail.

Although the areas are identical it made no sense (the post)

If the desire/ need to consume alcohol through one's colon is the best way to get a buzz - addiction theory would indicate quite a high tolerance had already been developed.

If one visually pauses for a moment and places oneself at a party where this is how people are consuming alcoholic beverages the images are (one tube I assume ) - shall we say well - certainly not clean like a nicely washed cocktail glass.

Naked men are a good thing. But I am confident any ladies I know would really not want to party with guys who are drinking via their tushie!

Think about this - this is about a SC nominee..........

The apparent willingness to ignore placement for consumption also can provide one some pause. I have been an eager participant in some crazy parties but having a cocktail via anus never happened.

Maybe I was missing great parties??

Off track. Back to the other post . The devil's triangle finally made sense to me in that is why Judge jumped on top.

But then i got it backwards again between farting and drinking via tushie while considering a Yale collage student who apparently stutters when using the word F$ck.

Could all the puking being discussed be related to drinking cocktails from one tushie? Maybe that results in passing lots of gas ? Who knows.

We are talking about a SC nominee

It then struck me like a thunderbolt -- we are talking about a SC nominee and have to keep up with alleged two guys on one girl , passing gas, puking, cursing, and drinking via the other end of one's body -- we got some problems

The abovementioned in and of itself is not boys being boys.

pathetic

think about it for a second.

Pardon the pun but we sure have ended up in the bowels of depravity.

And...........our lifestyle can have some crazy stuff

oh my they are highly related -- why does one think they got a week to let stuff marinate.

Ladies and Gentlemen who are not ok with going back to the 50's is the reason for the delay - the investigation is a joke. What investigations STARTS with who you can talk to?

Were true crime followers -- really??

Before all this they knew they had to slam it through before the perjury stuff came in.

The reps knew all this stuff for months - that is why they hid stuff and realized they really had to get him on as he perjured himself the week before .

It was amazing to watch the Gassy guys face while all the crazy stuff was going on

At this point they should be getting the perjury stuff ready . The other stuff will emerge - but now he just needs go back to his old job while he has it

With the multitude of drunk parties, I imagine it is hard to remember a particular party if they were not the one assaulted.
