Why is it important to you for me to change my mind?

I hope that you stick to your beliefs and have no desire to try and change your mind about this case.

I have no idea why you think I'd be masochistic enough to try to change your mind, or anyone else's about K's nomination. Please reread what I wrote that you are responding to.

My questions, again, were to try to understand the continued support for K, not to challenge it.

Again, many evangelicals, for example, voted for trump despite not liking or trusting him or thinking he was fit, but because they wanted roe Wade overturned.

I imagine that at least some if not many of K's supporters (not including you) feel likewise- that K being a heavy drinker & unkind to girls on HS, even short-of-rape assaulting them or humiliating them, and perjuring himself now so he can move on to the court, that ALL of that can be tolerated if it means he gets on the court and overturns Roe v Wade.

For those who genuinely believe abortion is murder, then I can understand (up to a point) being willing to make huge trade offs to elect/appoint those who promise to try to make abortion illegal.

What I have no use for are folks like that who aren't willing to just say that straight out, who instead are inverting allegations against K into conspiratorial allegations about democrats & Dr. Ford.

(Sorry, my phone /posting here keeps glitching).

What does the midterm elections have to do with the confirmation vote and the related investigations? I thought that they are not related and that's why there should be no rush in the investigation or vote. JMO

Such a coy response.

Of course the confirmation shenanigans will impact midterms.

Ideally, they’d be irrelevant. But being as they’ve influenced me to change my voter
registration to another party, they already have impacted midterms.

I have no idea how they’re impacting anyone else, other than the fact that Trump himself told his constituents to get out and vote or risk losing this war. Paraphrasing.

With the multitude of drunk paryies, I imagine it is hard to remember a particular party if they were not the one asssulted.
There is even a possibility that alleged offenders don't actually remember due to being excessively drunk.

boy I bet we are the talk of the town huh

I am not really sure if I want to know how other lands are viewing this !

We should all feel embarrassed -- very embarrassed
I know I am

Its just filthy dirty stuff

sad just sad

what is really gonna have to happen is other folks are going to need to go media -- the investigation is under white house control

Did he forget? Very strange. One would think a Yale graduate would be common knowledge in the family.

Nah, I don’t think he forgot. He kept sniffling during the hearings. Maybe his bad case of infectious affluenza is acting up again. Besides, his privilege is nobody else’s business, amirite?!!

In other words, he lied. ;)

From the article. For me, the optics of the republican senate judiciary men sitting in stone faced silence while a prosecutor questioned Professor Ford looked like something from the Middle Ages. This reporter sums it up well. Imo.

---

"Watching the eleven Republicans as they sat mute in front of Professor Ford, a reporter had to wonder why the party of Lincoln seems to actively hate women.

The Republican Party has a storied history of trying to curtail the rights of women.

Republicans have tried, and in some cases succeeded, in limiting women's reproductive rights. They have actively opposed legislation that protects women, argued against pay equity and many other issues.

The party's leader in the Senate campaigned against renewing the Violence Against Women Act. In an election campaign in Missouri a few years ago, the GOP candidate talked about "legitimate rape."

Last year in a special election, the Republican president called for support of a candidate in Alabama with a history of stalking young girls in shopping malls.

This history is the larger canvas that women across the U.S. can recognize.

On Thursday, it was on full display in the hearing."

Or have a problem remembering who was at the party or maybe who the rapist really was.

Untrue. Every element of that.
I'm not sure why my answer wasn't good enough for you.

I think it's time to move along. It's obvious we are having a hard time communicating.

See my post 661. I think you are responding to one of my glitched, unfinished posts. If 661 leaves you in the same place, then yes, let's definitely move on.

Or have a problem remembering who was at the party or maybe who the rapist really was.

Or having a problem with the frat-like behavior of immediately closing ranks around their own to protect their own, which seems more probable, ime. A chauvinistic boys club is more realistic, given the context, imo.

Democrats threaten fresh probe if White House interferes in FBI's Brett Kavanaugh investigation

They threatened a fresh Congressional investigation if the Senate and the FBI did not conduct a thorough review of the evidence against the man in line to sit on the country’s highest court.

Mr Trump insisted the FBI had a “free rein” to probe allegations of sexual misconduct.

But senior Democrats pointed to reports that the White House had given the FBI a list of people to be interviewed and that Julie Swetnick, one of Mr Kavanaugh’s accusers, would not be among them.

Grahm confirmed they are not talking to her

but i think that may not matter

Thankfully - Aventti is on the scene!

He will know if noone talks to her and if not he will take care of that for us!

He will know if they do talk to her how superficial it is and will make that public-- so with that poor victim she will be heard !

Michael will see to it!

Our caped crusader will save us from lies and deceit! Play it it feels good!!

He has not let us down in 8 months - and he wont now!!

No worries (except for some members of the committee!)

Maybe. No way to know for sure in my opinion.

I wouldn't lump all men as being chauvinistic.

Are we supposed to be sleuthing a victim, Julie Swetnick? I don't know-just asking.

AFAIK, if the information is in MSM, it can be discussed here. (For example, just as MSM has reported Chris Watts claims his wife murdered their children before he strangled her. It made MSM so it is open to discussion). Hth

In case anyone needs comic relief here's the link to SNL's opening last night. Hilarious.

THANK YOU for posting this. It is hilarious! Some levity in the middle of this travesty.
