No. You’d be wrong. That’s what’s frustrating about this business.

I’m liberal in the scholarly sense. I’m open minded. I believe in equality. I believe in learning something every day I believe in facts and research and drawing conclusions based on those things.

I know that I don’t know everything. I never will. I strive to be fair and accurate and never, ever intentionally injure anyone. When I make a mistake, I correct it.

I’m not reporting here.

That’s not what this forum is about.

I have a right to share my opinions, just like you do.

And I know when and where the appropriate time and place is to do so. Here is the appropriate place. The newsroom isn’t.
I'm sorry if I offended you. I thought when you announced your profession that you feel it's ok to talk about it.

I wont do that in the future.

It cracks me up that every detail of Dr Ford's case is being picked apart to make her look deceitful when BK has lied and lied under oath. The jury instruction is if someone lies about something small then their entire testimony can be discarded. Dr Ford has not been caught in one lie but BK seems to be constantly lying. A jury would be persuaded by Dr Ford.

According to this article, Ford says the polygrapher came to her in New Hampshire. That’s not where the test was given.

>>snip

Throughout her questioning, Ford revealed how she came to her decision to go public and the how she left her grandmother’s funeral to take a polygraph test on the incident.

'I had left my grandmother’s funeral at Fort Lincoln Cemetery that day and was on a tight schedule to get a plane to Manchester, New Hampshire, so [Jeremiah Hanafin, the polygraph administrator] was willing to come to me, which was appreciated,' she said.

'So he administered a polygraph on the day that you attended your grandmother’s funeral?,' Mitchell.

'Correct,' Ford replied. 'It might have been the next day. I spent the night in the hotel.'

Ford said her primary memory of taking the test was ‘crying a lot.'

Asked why she took it, Ford said: ‘I didn't see any reason not to do it.’

'I found it extremely stressful,' she said. 'Much longer than I anticipated. I told my whole life story, I felt like. I endured it. It was fine.'

2 questions.

When he administered the polygraph exam, it consisted of just two questions: "Is any part of your statement false?" and "Did you make up any part of your statement?"

WATCH: Ex-FBI Agent Reveals Details of Polygraph Test He Gave Christine Blasey Ford

Seriously, 2 questions and she told her whole life story.

Btw I have had 3 separate polys. Not a big deal.

ETA. They don’t ask you your life story, and all answers are “yes” or “no”, there is no conversation.

Not a stretch at all in my opinion but by all means feel free to scroll and roll.

Judge hasn't publicly testified nor was he asked to do so. JMO

Judge has indeed said he would testify, just not publicly. I’ve linked the source here multiple times.

She found the polygraph much longer than she anticipated. I though the polygraph was only two questions, maybe the answers were detailed idk.

I don't understand why a poly would be scheduled so close to an emotional event. I'm sure the FBI will be closely examining the results.
I've never heard of such a concern. I had to take a polygraph for a job and was never told about emotional stresses. Dr Ford passed a polygraph, but BK refused to take one although in a 2016 ruling (link up thread) he stated polygraphs were essential law enforcement tool. Suspicious. Also didn't want investigation?

You hit the nail on the head, @simba16.

It’s almost like his lies are irrelevant. Weird. And telling, IMO.

My favorite theory about why Dr. Ford is lying cones from QAnon (lol): she was a subject of the CIA's experiments with LSD, and hallucinated the assault when taking LSD, and Kavanaugh's nomination gave her flashbacks which made her falsely remember her LSD hallucination, and that's why she came forward.

When does our collective nightmare end?

The RAINN network's been nearly overwhelmed. There really is an ocean of pain. :(

RAINN | The nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization

"We are experiencing unprecedented wait times for our online chat. If you are able, we encourage you to call 800.656.HOPE (4673) to get routed to your local sexual assault service provider. If you are in immediate danger, call 911."
It looks like CF may have opened the floodgates for lots of women to finally tell their deep, dark secrets. Apparently, several senators in the Senate Judiciary Committee got calls from women with their stories.
I told my secret here; Kellyanne Conway told of her experience to the world. Brave woman. I'm betting that Conway may not be the last high-profile individual to do so.
If nothing else good comes of all this, at least the "Me Too" women are not as afraid to speak of it as they were several days ago.
Now, somehow, we've got to work to try to lessen these events. And all of us here know that there are many women who will never get the chance to tell their stories...

Thanks, peeps, for being so supportive to me. :)

**Edited to add - after re-reading Ford’s comment, I gather Ford was heading to NH later in the day and the polygrapher was willing to meet up with her at a convenient location since she was on a time constraint. Her grandmother’s funeral was in MD, so he met her at the Hilton Hotel.

She said ‘I didn't see any reason not to do it.’ when asked why she took the polygraph.

I would like to have heard why she did it. That would have been informative. Strange answer. Why be evasive? JMO

ITA. I'm a democrat and I'm outraged at how CF has been exploited by the Dems and her own attorneys.
How is Dr Ford being exploited? Is there any evidence?

Yes, that article was the lead -- it was fairly brief. I think they inserted it at the last minute since it was very timely to show tonight.

Please DO NOT ATTACK EACH OTHER.

Do not stray into everything political, please.

Discuss the post and not the poster.

If you take a stand on an issue you have to be ready to defend it. Posters are not attacking anyone if they disagree. However, if the disagreeing poster is actually attacking you then please alert.

Remember, I need to remain calm or my head will explode
Thank you,
Tricia

Bumping.

Well, the Senators were just talking. And, now, I have to move, because Steelers are on, that is the "priority" in this house..
