Kavanaugh allegedly threw ice at a fellow bar patron when the cops arrived:

"For his part, speaking to the officers, Mr. Kavanaugh did not want 'to say if he threw the ice or not,' the police report said."

The article continues:

"The outlines of the incident were first referred to in a statement issued on Sunday by Chad Ludington, one of Judge Kavanaugh’s college classmates and a member of the Yale basketball team.

'On one of the last occasions I purposely socialized with Brett, I witnessed him respond to a semi-hostile remark, not by defusing the situation, but by throwing his beer in the man’s face,' Mr. Ludington said in the statement. Mr. Ludington, a college professor at North Carolina State, said he came forward because he believed Judge Kavanaugh had mischaracterized the extent of his drinking at Yale."

No support from anyone. I wonder if that's because it never happened.

There’s tons of corroboration. If eyewitness testimony was the only form of corroborating evidence allowed, lord almighty, almost no crime ever would stand a chance in court, let alone in a judicial committee meeting. That’s laughable, imo.

There’s plenty of support for Ford and the others. There’s also corroborating evidence for much of their allegations. Two separate things.

I worked in a bar during college. I saw a few bar fights. Most of the fights were stupid - stupid drunk guys fighting. I wouldn't say they should be held accountable to the fights 30 years later, but I would call them liars if they denied them.

Eeeesh, yeah. I pity that woman right now, tbh.

but i think her and his kids will be able to use it as an intervention his behavior was like someone that was slowly realizing that he needs help on global tv as a clinician that's rough

Is it possible BK got information about the New Yorker article before it actually "hit the stands." In other words, he might have meant he didn't know about Ramirez until he learned that the story was going to be in the New Yorker (as opposed when the issue of the magazine was actually out). Ykwim?

I'm not sure yet this is a smoking gun, though I haven't read the full info yet either.

jmo

I understand completely. I subscribe to the NYer, actually, and know that articles can appear online before the paper copy, even, etc.

I also remember that there were rumors galore before the article first came out-anywhere- that Ronan might be writing an article about another accuser.

July is a very long time before September. I doubt K & crew could have known for sure it was Ramirez who would be the accuser. But, there were also separate rumors that now seem to be likely related to the K & penis & Rameriz incident, which by many accounts was known & spoken about at the time, afterwards, and after K was nominated.

None of that matters. K said under oath that he first heard of the allegations when the article itself came out, and that was in September.

The woman making the emails & content public after trying to get them to the FBI is...wait for it...a PARTNER at Akins Gump, one of the most exclusive & powerful lawfirms in the US.

She knows the emails mean the end of K's nomination --if the rule of law still matters in the US. And she is in the inner most circle of power & influence & privilege....imo, that means the dam is breaking wide open.

There is a thing called "train" rapes and Georgetown prep parties are notorious.

Definitely not unheard of, to be sure. It’s a real thing and it’s disgusting. And unbelievably traumatic for victims. Especially when the guys close ranks around each other, then the frat closes ranks around the perpetrators because they’re protecting the fraternal organization from consequences that might blight the frat and its members.

Honestly? At this point, in terms of his nomination, I don't think either Swetnick or even Ford's allegations are even close to being K's main problem right now, much less any single or multiple details about them.
