Why would Dr. Ford want to say hello to mark judge of all people when he and Brett had her hemmed up in room trying to sexually assault her per her testimony?

It seems she would make sure to avoid him even turning around and leaving the store so she wouldn't come in contact with him?

15 year old Christine Blasey had been friends with Mark Judge.

She had interacted with him on a number of occasions prior to the (credible) alleged sexual assault. When she unexpectedly saw him arranging the shopping carts in the Safeway as she entered the store, I think it's possible she said "Hello" to him automatically.

Sexual assault affects the deepest parts of one's psyche.

Saying "hello" was a subconscious way for her to keep herself safe in that moment.

Saying "hello" was a subconscious way for her to try to protect herself until she was able to remove herself from his presence.

Anyone who has experienced sexual assault understands this.

Kavanaugh allegedly threw ice at a fellow bar patron when the cops arrived:

"For his part, speaking to the officers, Mr. Kavanaugh did not want 'to say if he threw the ice or not,' the police report said."

The article continues:

"The outlines of the incident were first referred to in a statement issued on Sunday by Chad Ludington, one of Judge Kavanaugh’s college classmates and a member of the Yale basketball team.

'On one of the last occasions I purposely socialized with Brett, I witnessed him respond to a semi-hostile remark, not by defusing the situation, but by throwing his beer in the man’s face,' Mr. Ludington said in the statement. Mr. Ludington, a college professor at North Carolina State, said he came forward because he believed Judge Kavanaugh had mischaracterized the extent of his drinking at Yale."

Hm. Not directly answering questions or accepting responsibility? Sounds like it might be a lifelong pattern? Moo

Honestly? At this point, in terms of his nomination, I don't think either Swetnick or even Ford's allegations are even close to being K's main problem right now, much less any single or multiple details about them.

To the contrary, I think they’ve opened the door wide for Kavanaugh to insert plentiful deceit.

I have, and I don't.

in judges book he described exactly what she said worked in a grocery store often hung over and his job was to arrange the carts

as the world is crashing in on him last night was the first time i pondered if he might kill himself

I don’t think he’s the type, tbh. He reads to me like his good schooling and social status somehow imbues him with a level of morality that places him above judgment or accountability, imo.

To wit: “I got into Yale!”

That’s a pathetic moral defense.

Just my opinion.

"They had just come from seeing the English reggae band UB40 at a nearby venue in New Haven, Connecticut, when they saw a man who resembled the lead singer. The man told the trio he wasn’t the singer and brusquely told them to stop looking at him. Kavanaugh couldn’t let the comment pass, according to one of the two friends with Kavanaugh that night.

Kavanaugh first cursed at the man. After the man responded in kind, Kavanaugh threw a beer in his face, said Charles Ludington, a former Yale basketball player who’s now a history professor at North Carolina State University. The act precipitated a brawl that drew in their other friend — Yale basketball star and future NBA player Chris Dudley — and eventually prompted a call to police."

Thank you for this post, @sorrell skye. I hear what you’re saying, and I agree with you. Well said.

"Drinking as a college student is hardly unique and Ludington said he had no thought of making his story public when Kavanaugh was first nominated to the nation’s highest court. But watching Kavanaugh downplay his drinking in a Fox News interview and later in the contentious Senate hearing convinced Ludington he needed to set the record straight.

'I can unequivocally say that in denying the possibility that he ever blacked out from drinking, and in downplaying the degree and frequency of his drinking, Brett has not told the truth,' Ludington said in his statement."

A drunken brawl? That he initiated? Man, the optics on that are not good.

"Ludington doesn’t recall how much they had been drinking that night. The group was most likely 'pretty buzzed,' he said, though not so drunk that he doesn’t have a clear memory of that night.

What the incident illustrates about Kavanaugh 'is just the aggressiveness that came along with the alcohol, the hair-trigger machismo, which was pathetic,' he said.

That bar episode and others were something Ludington didn’t find 'very attractive' and he found himself drifting away from Kavanaugh as a friend."

There are lot of memory lapses regarding this particular accusation. I am not sure 1982 is even the correct year when this alleged to have happened.

"Mitchell cited Ford's inability to pinpoint when the alleged assault took place, her struggle to clearly identify Kavanaugh as her assailant by name, lack of key details like how she got to the party or where the party took place and inconsistencies in her account of the encounter as areas of concern in her allegations."

K seems to get in trouble around the time the drinking age goes up wherever he is. CT upped the legal drinking age from 20 to 21 on September 1, 1985. The bar fight was in September 1985. K was 20, not 21 in September, 1985 (born in Feb, 1965).

Looks like he may have been legal, though, if I read the CT grandfather clause correctly- that anyone who was 20 by Sept 1, 1985 could continue to drink legally.

Well i am sure the ones against BK...will believe Julie Swetnick but I find her bizarre.

Nothing is definitive. Is if he did. She didn't even seeing him spiking the punch. Even the interviewer said that her story is inconsistent with her own sworn statement.

Conveniently her mom is deceased and so is the cop She said she reported it to.

The interviewer said they have not been able to find anyone to substantiate her story. One person she named has said he doesn't even know her.

Ocean, I hope I am misreading your post. I don't usually resp0nd to things like this, but it is bothering me.
1) When someone spikes a drink, it would be rare for anyone else to see it being done.
2)"conveniently" these two people died??/ I found that quite an insensitive statement .... surely you don't mean it the way it came across? I am sure she didn't plan for the two people she may have told to have died.

JMO ... apology if I misunderstood
